These worked really well for my first attempts at roasting coffee at home, on a budget, without expensive equipment.
I recently wanted to try roasting my own beans on a budget, and those are the ones I made my first experiments with. My initial attempts at roasting them in a pan and with a hot air popcorn popper were not successful (they ended up burned, or baked but not roasted);. But then i discovered a popcorn popper pot with a hand crank agitator - heating the beans on medium on a ceramic range, and agitating the beans at a stiff pace. Every once in a while I'd give them a really fast whirl or reverse direction for a few seconds to pull all of them to the edge of the pot to prevent any stuck ones from burning. To cool them off, i'd carry the pot out onto the balcony while shaking the pot, and dumping them onto a large cookie sheet. Depending on how many I roast at the same time, I may use a second sheet so they don't get too crowded which would prevent them from cooling properly. This approach consistently produced even results both on a medium roast and a dark roast. I then store the cooled beans in small batches in Ziploc bags (pushing all the air out), let them rest for about 4-5 hours, and use them up within four days; hand-grinding only as much as i need for a cup, brewing them with water at 80 degrees celsius using an Aero Press. I'm by no means a coffee connoisseur, but even with my initial experiments I could taste delicious flavors and aromas I have never tasted in coffee before. I made a few batches for friends and colleagues (mostly because i was trying a few variations in my roasting technique and couldn't drink as much coffee as i roasted). Eventually i ran out of beans, trying my "old" coffee again that i really liked prior. However, something changed: my palate. Roasting my own beans and preparing coffee as fresh as i could, i now don't want to go back. And while i will certainly try other beans as well, I am really happy with how these worked for my first home-roasting experiments. For now, I'll keep re-ordering these..

High Quality Very Very Good Notes
I roast in a Behmor 5400 and extract in a Breville BES870XL Barista Express. I have tried many beans from many lands and this is clearly outstanding in my humble opinion. The crema profile is deep and rich and the cupping notes are off the profile scale. I would like to buy this in 5# bags or larger. I sent that request to Primos Coffee today and will report back with their response.

Delicious
Let me preface this review by acknowledging that like their eggs, everyone has their own special way they like their coffee. Here on the Oregon Coast, we tend the lean to the darker side of this magical bean. That being said, it took me a bit of time experimenting with this bean to find that oily dark roast I love. But find it I did. This bean takes a medium roast very well, if you're into that sort of thing, and seems to need a little something extra to get to that "sizzling bacon" second crack that releases the oils. I found success by slightly overloading my little coffee roaster with these beans and stretching the roast time beyond it's normal range. The resulting coffee is amazing, truly delicious. I just ordered my second bag.

Beautiful Roast
These have been the most consistent, easy to roast beans I have ever used. The taste is good across all roast times and each batch comes out great. I use a Presto hot air popcorn popper and roast these outside until I hear the second crack. I can easily hear when they are done from inside the house. The beans all seem to crack at the same time. I plan on giving some fresh roasted coffee as a gift and I have been struggling to find just the right bean. I feel that these would be an excellent choice. Everything from the consistency of the roasted bean to the aroma of the grind and the taste make this five star for me.

There are reasons why this is a best seller!
This coffee makes a nice flavored coffee that I think will fully satisfy most(85%+), but not all, people. It is definitely coffee you want to fully roast, as it made a better full bold roast than when I did a medium 'lighter' roast. Its bold dark roast did not taste at all bitter, but very smooth, richer, kinda fruity, with cocoa and caramel notes. I found this coffee to not be very acidic which is how I like it. 3lbs is a lot of coffee, but the price is outstanding, I can easily see why this is a best seller.

Best tasting cup of coffee I have ever tasted in my own kitchen
Far, far less cost than a pound of ground arabica coffee with the freshest taste one could imagine....now this is what good coffee is all about. I promised the vendor I would critique his coffee after I had my first chance to roast, burr grind his beans and let my French Press coffee maker do its thing. I have had my Breville burr grinder for about ten years but bought already roasted beans. Never again will I pick up a package of roasted beans not knowing how long they have sat on the shelf. ( green beans can stay fresh for many years) Using a 1200 watt air popcorn appliance from here on Amazon, it took about eight minutes to roast a half cup of beans and another five minutes for the beans to cool and then into the grinder. I found the process very easy as illustrated by a number of YouTube videos. Yes, you can spend a lot of money on roasters, but this is a simple easy method for home use.

Great coffee beans for roasters
These dried beans are excellent. It was delivered to me on Friday of this past week and I took to roasting it immediately last night. I then let it cool, and into a sealed container. This morning I ground the beans and I have to say, I didn't dark roast it but it was middling between medium and dark. Best mug of coffee I've ever had. It's home roasting from now on and Primos is now bookmarked in my browser when I need to re-up my supply of dried coffee beans. The coffee once brewed was phenomenal, not acidic, and had some definite fruity notes that we love.

You Will NEVER Go Back to Pre-Roasted Beans
I'm literally addicted to this stuff. I can't adequately describe how good the coffee these beans make tastes and smells, but heavenly is the word that comes to mind. I tried three roast levels on my first batch and I vastly prefer a medium roast, where just a few of the beans are starting to get oily. I ran out of my first batch and went back to Starbucks Espresso blend and immediately set up the roaster, there is simply no comparison. I use a Baratza Encore grinder and a Breville Duo Temp and these beans take my cappuccinos and cortados to a whole new level.

Fantastic roasters
I have done two roasts. Both were in a Jiffy Popper (I am so glad I tried this method before shelling out for an expensive roaster). Both roasts were to second crack. The first roast was over a gas BBQ with the popper about 4 inches above the flame on high setting. It took nearly 20 minutes to roast and the beans were not as dark as I expected, nor was the flavor as rich as I'd hoped. My second roast was on an electric range and I kept the setting at high through first crack, then dropped to medium for the second. This was a lot more exciting - I had to turn the agitator at a very quick pace for fear of burning but the first crack happened much more quickly and the whole process took half the time and resulted in a darker bean with more sheen and a much more flavorful cup. Every bean roasted to perfection - no throwaways. The flavor is heavenly with zero bitterness and fantastic body. I highly recommend.

Fantastic stuff ! Free shipping makes it the best buy.
Bought these for my first attempt at roasting coffee greens. I used only a 12" skillet on our outdoor grille. I did purchase a laser thermometer (cheap and amazing) to monitor the temp. Anyway, this coffee turned out to be maybe the best I've ever drank !!! :) Will definitely buy more. One note: Fully degassing took 4 full days ! It was "good" after 2 days, but noticeably better... the best, after 4 days, so plan ahead. Update: so I've tried 4 different greens (from a very reputable online greens supplier) since these, but so far, none have been better. It's looking like as soon as our current supply is about gone, I'm going to order 6 lbs of these. Super great tasting beans 🙂 Second update; I have now gone through about 18 lbs of this stuff.... And just roasted 6 more lbs yesterday. I stand by the fact that this is the best coffee greens you can buy, for the price... Especially on Amazon. I have found one coffee green we like better, but it was $16 a lb, so that's for special occasions. This stuff for all else.
