Just moved into a new house with hard wood floors, well its a nightmare with cats getting kitty litter all across the house and the vacuum just flicking it all over. So I bought this thing and holy crap it cleans well, so not only can you get streak free mobbing (steam cleaning) done but it vacuums up the kitty litter and everything else at the same time. Only have to go over the floors once to sweep/vacuum/mop! Worth every penny. OH and its easy to take apart and clean too. Freaking perfect.

I actually look for excuses to use this thing. Is something wrong with me? Lol It’s so easy to use and makes cleaning my floors easy and fast. And it does a GREAT job. I have hardwood, vinyl, and tile floors and they all get beautifully clean. I can do 2-3 rooms before having to add more water, although I change the pads between each room. Worth its weight in gold.

September 2016 UPDATE this is my final rating; It's not good at picking up heavy stuff like cat litter. It is great with pet hair, dust and other floor dirt. It's easy to vacuum and then steam my kitchen floor especially. August 2016 UPDATE lowered my rating. I bought another because I gave the first one to a friend. The second one seemed great but now the vacuum isn't performing nearly as good as it was. I removed the tubes, cleaned (they weren't clogged) and replaced them. Also checked the dirt bin to ensure it was empty. Sometimes if I go over the same space 2 or 3 times it will pick up. Also if dirt is close to edge, tough to pickup. Bissell, did I get a dud this time? July 2016 UPDATE: If I could give a 3 1/2 rating I would; I saw another customer video and had help from a family member. Now I think this product is pretty great. I'm happy with how light it is, that I can vacuum and steam clean with the same unit (although not at the same time) and it does a good job for me! Once I got used to clicking the pad holder on and off, not so bad. It fits between the toilets and the wall. It steam cleans nicely without additional chemicals. Directions are horrible. I finally looked up a youtube video posted by someone who received the product in exchange for an online review. That got me part way through although even she said you should vacuum and then use the steam mop because doing both together causes the pet hair to stick to the floor. The other demo I saw used the vac first and then the steam mop. I can live with that if I can get my other problems solved: 1. handle not adjustable for height of operator. 2. must step on the unit to lean the handle into position to use it; moving back to upright position is easy. and worse...3. I can pull back while moping with the steam feature but it won't push forward. I'm going to get some family help in case this is all me. I hope to update this review with good news because other than the above, I like it; it;s fairly easy to load the water (once the video showed me how) and load/unload the dirt cup and it's light compared to my Kirby vac Bissell did I miss something? are there online video demo/instructions that would help me?

I am a stay at home mom to a 1 year old professional food thrower/occasional floor licker (yea I don’t get it either). I am also a clean freak and live on a small farm so any cleaning apparatus’ I own better be worth their salt! That being said I love love love this steam cleaner. I previously owned a bissel steam cleaner only. The best and most obvious advantage of this is the vacuum and steam cleaner combined. It saves a huge amount of time for me!! That being said, this one doesn’t seem to get quite as hot as my last steam cleaner so you have to go a little slower, however, as I said before, your cutting out the vacuuming so I believe overall it still takes me much less time. The other advantage I see with this is it seems to go through the water a little slower which is nice. It also doesn’t seem to use as much water, so the floor dries faster as well. Refilling is easier as well since you don’t even have to remove the tank, therefore don’t have to wait for it to reheat. I also love the removable head. My last one I had to turn the mop over to put the pad on and off. I did find a couple learning curve type things that will help get the most out of it. - you have to squeeze the handle to activate the steam. This requires extremely light pressure so your hand won’t get tired, but it actually doesn’t say anywhere that’s how you activate it. But make sure your holding it, otherwise your only vacuuming. -To get the vacuum to work most efficiently, you should push it forward on DRY flooring, and pull back along the same line to steam. The vacuum is towards the front of the head, if you pull back on dry flooring, it will wet the dirt on the floor, making it not as easy to suck up. Overall I really love this, it works fantastic!!!

I had the regular Symphony for 3yrs when it recently died. I can't be without this machine as I have 15 dogs in the house!! The vacuum on the Pet Steam Mop is wonderful as it sucks up the hair from my 2 border collie x! They have clumps of hair and I didn't expect it to be able to vacuum it up but it did with much power. The steamer is wonderful my wood/tile floors look amazing. Very long cord that is a bonus too. I tried out the Swiffer Bissell Steamboost pads that came with it thinking they wouldn't amount to much but to my surprise I loved how it cleaned the floor of the family room where most of the dogs stay. I then went over it with a microfiber pad to dry it a bit and found the tile just shining!! I then proceeded to order the steamboost pads! This is a must have for anyone with pets and kids.

I love cleaning with it. It makes quick work of doing all my floors. I have tile and hardwood floors. I discovered it had a minor piece broken off as I removed it from the box. So I was disappointed with that. But the piece is not necessary for it to work. I had been so excited to try it out that I quickly took some pictures of the broken bit and assembled it. It was very easy to assemble. I looked threw the instructions and quickly got it ready to use. I was immediately in love. Now after using for a few weeks. I still love it. But I wish it could hold more dirt before needing to be emptied. I wish the dirt was easier to clean out of the canister. It does not work to just open the easy dump door on the bottom. You must take the entire piece out of the canister. Then use the part intended to help push the dirt out of the canister to get to the dirt and hair that has gotten stuck between there. It would be helpful to have a small brush to brush that out with and to brush off the screens. I get my hands dirty trying to empty the dirt every time. I have not tried to clean or change the filters yet. A longer retractable cord would be nice but it is not necessary it would just keep the cord out of the way. The cup for filling the water falls off easily when using the machine. The washable pads never look clean again. I have not tried the smelling disk things. But I did take a little round cotton disposable face cleaning pad put some essential oils on it and put it in the pocket for the disks. It worked great and my house smelt wonderful. I can clean all the floors in my house with this in under an hour that is basically swept and moped and I am slow at cleaning. I have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and a family room.

I had so many doubts but ordered anyway. Now this was after I had read the 134 reviews where the huge majority praised the merits of the Bissell Symphony Pet All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop. As soon as the box arrived I set up the little thing and tackled the dirt: Hair from one 7 month old Golden Retriever and one 9 year old standard Dacshund plus dirt that I, the gardener in the family, had tracked in including the dirt that the 2 dogs managed to transplant from the yard to my tile floor. I had trouble trying to attach the disposable cleaning pad so gave up on it and went to the cloth one. Once the water had heated I set to work. Now, folks, I don't work for Bissell, never have, know no one who ever has worked for them so this is just true assessment. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The little canister for the vacuum filled with that beautiful blond hair. (Funny how beautiful it is on my Golden and how ugly it is on my floor!) I had not mopped in several weeks so the floor really needed attention. I was both astonished and thrilled. My floor was wonderful! Even the grout looks a lot better. Then my husband used it. Talk about high praise! So, do we like our Bissell Symphony Pet All-in-One Steam Mop. You bet. I even bought one for my son-in-law for Christmas.

I never leave reviews but I had to for this one. I have a German shepherd who sheds a LOT. He also tracks in a lot of dirt and yard debris. I get so tired of having to clean my floors, so I bought this to help streamline the process a bit. OH MY GOODNESS this thing was amazing! I went slowly so I could vacuum as I went. This thing had no trouble vacuuming my hard floors and then coming right behind and steam cleaning them. My only complaint is that it's a bit loud, but that's hardly a complaint in my mind for a product that more than halves my cleaning time. My floors look better than they ever have with my previous method(s). Hopefully it'll withstand being used a couple times a week. Only time will tell with that (it just arrived today) so hopefully I won't be coming back to rescind my opinion. For now, I'm very pleased!

I have had, and really liked, the Shark Pocket Steam mop for several months. But there were a few things about it that I didn't really love, and then...one day I was vacuuming my hard floor, preparing to steam mop it, when it hit me: why wasn't there a device that both vacuumed and mopped at the same time? I did some research - and guess what, there is! It's called the Bissell Symphony! :-) So, here are a few things to note about the Symphony, and also things that I like about it compared to the Shark. First, when your Symphony arrives, the box will feel very heavy (much heavier than the Shark). I expected it to be somewhat heavier, because it has a vacuum built into it, but I didn't expect it to be *that* much heavier! Fear not, because it turns out that a lot of that weight is the packaging (both the external box from Amazon, which is large, and the actual Bissell packaging). Once you are dealing *only* with your Symphony, it is much lighter - still heavier than the Shark, of course, but not horribly so. Second, I love that with the Symphony the steam isn't on automatically all the time, like it is with the Shark. With the Symphony there is a little trigger button in the handle that you hold down if you want steam. Some people may not like that (having to hold down the trigger) but it is inside the handle so it's very easy and natural to hold it down, but if you don't want steam you can just take your finger off the trigger. (So yes, you can use it as just a vacuum, or, for that matter, as just a steamer - the vacuum on/off button is independent of the steam, and vice versa.) Third, the buttons to adjust between high and low steam are right there on the handle. On the Shark, the buttons are down at the bottom, so that you have to bend down and around to the front of the unit to switch between steam levels. (To be fair, with the Shark there are also three steam levels (dust, mop, and scrub) - with the Symphony there are only two (high and low), but I have never found myself wishing for a third level with the Symphony.) Fourth, the Symphony will actually stand up and stay here you put it. In other words, if you need to stop for a bit, or when you store the Symphony, it is free-standing. With the Shark, you need to secure it, or hang it up, or be very careful resting it against a counter or wall, because it does not lock into an upright position - the head always swivels. Fifth, I *love* how easy Bissell has made it to add water to the Symphony! And you can do it from a standing (the Symphony) position! You just flip open the little water 'door' on the back of the unit, and pour your water in. With the Shark, you have to lay the thing on its side on a counter or table, unscrew the cap, and then use a funnel or else pour the water in veeerrrry slooooowly because the opening is so small (otherwise you'll get water everywhere). Sixth, that Bissell had the foresight to team up with Swiffer to make it so that you could use a disposable Swiffer pad with the Symphony is just pure genius! With the Shark you can only use the reusable mop head covers. Now maybe that's all you *want* to use, but having the option to use either is brilliant! (In case it isn't clear how you use the disposable Swiffer pad, there is actually a second, replacement head that snaps on to the bottom of the Symphony - it is just like the other head *except* that it has a hinged rim that you open - put the Swiffer pad on - and then close the rim down over the Swiffer pad to hold it in place. And switching between heads is as easy as it gets - you step on a tab to remove (release) the one head, then set the Symphony down on top of the other head, and it just snaps into place! So, the big question is, how does it clean? How does it clean??? See that picture?? YUCK! :-) It's absolutely *brilliant* being able to mop (steam mop) and vacuum all at once. And if you find a place on your floor where you have a bit of extra solid stuff on the floor that you need to vacuum up (hey, it happens, especially with pets and kids), just take your finger off the steam trigger, vacuum it up, and then start steaming away again! And yes, the handle can be adjusted to go under tables, under beds, etc.. Now, we have a lot of shedding going on here, so yes, it *has* happened that at the end of mopping there may be a tiny fine line of wet pet hair that didn't get picked up (you know, like happens *whenever* you mop in a house with lots of animals, no matter how much you have swept and vacuumed first)...seriously, that has happened only one time, in one spot, and I just picked it up with a paper towel. Given that the 'lingering wet pet hair after mopping' *always* happens, with any type of mop (I think that after I sweep or vacuum, the dog and cat go behind my back and shed on the freshly swept floor *just* so I can have pet hair on the mop! .. "Wow, all of our hair has disappeared, she'll be so sad, let's go put some back on the floor right now!"), I'm not going to fault the Symphony for that - especially given what a fine job it does, and, compared to pretty much anything else!

I got this because my sister had one and i was really impressed with it. I hate sweeping and mopping and avoided doing it enough because i hate it so much but i use this daily because it is fun and easy. It isnt a miracle worker in that it has limited scrubbing ability (my sister has a Koblenz with rotating scrubbers for that, but it is leaky). Also the vacume isnt like running a powerful Dyson, but it picks dirt and other stuff off the kitchen floor adequately. Sometimes it feels like it isnt "doing" anything when the vacume isnt on because it is kind of quiet, but if you lift it up you can see a lot of steam coming out and of course it is very hot. I bought this used to save some money and it arrived without one of the standard issue scrub pads. I was blown away by how amazing Amazon customer service was in fixing the issue. I have total confidence buying from Amazon now, especially used items, knowing if there is a problem it will be remedied with kindness and without a hassle.
