I am so happy to say that when I received this it was ...
I had been looking everywhere for a replacement charger for my Dell Inspiron 13" 2-in-1. Even though many other products I had ordered said they were compatible with my computer model, the tip of the power supply was much too large for my computer. I am so happy to say that when I received this it was the correct size for my computer! I also love that it makes the length of the power supply longer and that I can plug it into any standard size. It makes traveling with my computer much easier. Update 5/27/2016 - I needed to buy a replacement because the original wore down and did not work properly. The new item sent is very different than the original that I received, but it's still functional. Visually it's different and it is about 3 inches shorter.

Allows for battery charging DELL laptops with smaller plug.
Allows for battery charging DELL laptops with smaller plug. Other adapters only provide power while a DELL laptop is operating, but do not allow the DELL laptop to recognize a power supply with a larger connector (therefore only allowing power during operation and, as a result, reduced speed on some models.) This one does the trick.

Saved me a lot of money
I am glad that I found this. I was going to have to buy a new adapter for my dell xps laptop (which seemed to be at least 60$) but since I had the charger from my old xps I was able to simply buy this converter cord so that the old charger could be used on my newer xps. My laptop does inform me every time it is plugged in that the charger is not a high enough wattage and may not charge properly but so far I have had zero problems with that. The downside is that each end of the converter cable does not fit too securely when connected so if I pull the charging cord, this converter cable disconnects.

_This is the one!_ It does NOT stick out too far, no metal exposed.
I am the lead of an IT department and we have a surplus of the older Dell adapters but we are starting to get XPS 13 and XPS 15 models in stock. I have been ordering different models to find the best fit. (See below for a list of what I tried). On ALL the others adapters the metal barrel was too long, so they worked but they were very awkward. This model has a snug fit and looks like a factory accessory. Please note that some XPS units require a higher wattage power supply and many older units are only 60 watt. They will physically fit but the laptop will complain and not charge correctly. This is a list of the other adapters that have over-long tips: ⃠ "Pwr+ Adapter 7.4x5.0mm to 4.5x3.0mm Tip Connector Converter for Dell Inspiron, XPS, Latitude, Vostro; Hp Pavilion, Envy, Elitebook, Probook, Split x2" ⃠ ⃠ "Lucco 7.4 x 5.0mm to 4.5 x 3.0mm Tip Adapter Charger Converter Cable for Dell Vostro 5460 V5460, Dell XPS12 13 15 18, HP Pavilion M4, Pavilion 15-e029" ⃠ ⃠ "iGuerburn Female 7.4mm x 5.0mm to 4.5mm x3.0mm Male Charger Adapter Power Connector Converter Cable DC Jack for Dell Hp" ⃠

save a ton of money by using the old Latitude ...
save a ton of money by using the old Latitude charger, we have a lot of the old charger but in need of a second charger for the new laptop. This adapter solved my problem. I just plug it into the old charger and i don't even have to craw under each table to remove and replace the old charger. a second charger go for $35-$80 depend on your laptop model. with this adapter you have a lot of money by reused your old charger.

I love this.
The 5510 or 5520 Dell use a different adapter than ALL of our Dell models at work. I used to have to bust out my full blown adapter at our workbench and help desk area, but now I can just bust out the little adapter. This is ideal. In my family, we have Dell computers with the "normal" adapter, so we can now just bring one adapter on trips, and I am covered.

Better than Dell
I've had my Inspiron 15 7000 for a little over a year. I bought a spare AC adapter and a dell brand dongle to attach my home laptop to my work AC adapter. All my dell brand stuff ended up with a broken center pin, unable to detect charge speed. This dongle is going strong while being my primary power source for the past several months. I even dropped my laptop and bent this at a 30 deg angle and it's still fully functional.

Fixed my "Dell adapter not detected. Plugged in, not charging" problem
My daughter lost her power supply for her Dell. I purchased a replacement DELL-branded supply that came with a 7.4 plug and a cable (like this one) to convert the 7.4 to 4.5. The computer would run on adapter power but not charge the battery. I kept getting a message that stated "Dell adapter not detected. Plugged in, not charging". After many different solutions were tried, I purchased this Juyoon cable. IT FIXED MY PROBLEM.

Connect an old Dell adapter to a newer slimmer (dell) laptop
Useful to connect an older Dell laptop adapter (with round metal plug) to one of the newer (XPS) models with smaller diameter round metal plug. I'm a former Dell Engineer who worked on the original one which was later copied by HP. The new smaller ones are compatible electrically with the center pin used for data to identify the adapter type. In general, you may be able to use an HP adapter on the XPS but likely it will power the laptop but not charge the battery.

Did the Trick!
When Dell had to replace the faulty power adapter on my 15 5000 series laptop, they mysteriously sent me a replacement adapter that was the wrong size for the jack. This converter cable allowed me to use the 7.4mm power adapter pin with the 4.5 jack on the laptop. I've been using it for a week without any problems.
