Accurate, Fast and Way Better Than a Tape Measure
I am an engineer, and I often have to do building projects as well. I also build in very sensitive areas, so a lot of the work has to be pre fabricated. Precise measurements are a must. After seeing two engineers trying to measure a 30 ft high window with tape measures, I figured there had to be a better way. This has made all of my measurements more accurate and reliable. I can't say I exactly love Bosch's fillers, but this thing has highly impressed me. Heavily recommended for anyone with larger projects that require precise measurements. In addition to measure distance it can: -Act as a leveler -Calculate distance by measuring an angle (like figuring out the height of a wall) -Measure angles I've also used it as a laser pointer when I forget mine for presentations... All in all it is one of the most useful and signature tools in my tool belt.

Fantastic product, really accurate and the ability to use ...
Fantastic product, really accurate and the ability to use a photo and automatically post the dimensions as you use the laser is really great when sizing up a job. Use it recently installing cabinets and crown and was a little skeptical of just how accurate it would be but it is dead on accurate and if you cut your trim to the exact measurement it will be too tight, you still have to allow 1/32 or 1/16 to fit between wall a and wall b, perfect! Also used it for setting level, and again it is dead on accurate. Great for hanging pictures or when you don't have a level handy.

Pricey but helpful
I like it. The iPhone app isn't as intuitive as I would've hoped...but Bosch isn't Apple...and I wouldn't want them to be. I typically always favor Bosch brand over it's competitors though... I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead....the app needs some work and it annoys me that the laser device doesn't have the option to keep Bluetooth "ON" between uses (powering on/off). I always forget to turn it on and it takes a little bit for my phone to pair. Small but annoying. Positive thing - exporting the measurements, photos and/or all as a report. Photo is a page of my window measurements PDF. Also the FAQ helped me with functions that I had no idea even were possible.

Simply awesome when paired with the Bosch app on my phone. I LOVE this tool and I think you will too!!!
Absolutely love this thing. My favorite tool in my tool bag. When I got to a job site to measure, I pull up the app on my phone and turn on bluetooth on this thing and go to town. You can take pics with your phone and use this to add measurements to the pics. It communicates with your phone so you can trigger it to measure remotely or do it manually. The combination of the app and this device is awesome! I show it off to all of the contractors I run into. It works great for measuring heights you can't reach also. Seriously, if you are considering a laser measure and you have a smart phone, this is the one you want. Hands down, one of my favorite purchases in a long time!

Great tool, especially for measurements over 6 feet when ...
Great tool, especially for measurements over 6 feet when working alone. accuracy appears to be at least 1/32 if not closer. Used extensively to measure for pine tongue and groove paneling installation. Position base of unit at tongue base and measure to wall for board length. Dead on every time. Just take two readings to make sure the laser hits the target and not protruding insulation ect. The feet-inches and fractional takes a little getting used to when you are used to reading inches/ fractional on a standard ruler- tape measure but you will quickly adapt. Should have bought one of these much earlier. Saves countless steps up and down a ladder and dangerous over stretching to position a ruler or tape. Although not of primary concern, the level option is dead on for level and measuring slope in degrees. The quite "beep" when attaining level is great for leveling fixtures. Just remember that "level " is being found with a 6" plane not a 6' plane as in a framing level.

Buh Bye Tape Measure
This has made measuring fun. I can connect it to my ipad, and create floorplans easily. My only complaints might be the buttons. I would prefer they were hard plastic with a more tactile response. Update: Bosch, if you are listening, put a measure button on the side. It would be really handy to be able to hold it against the wall with one hand, and just push down on a side button to capture. instead, i need to twist my pointer finger under and push it without losing my angle.

I Love This Thing
Love this thing I had an older model GLM 30 and could not read the small print. I decided to take it outside to measure the ground to the roof, I saw the beam and took the measure of 20 plus feet. One draw back is the case is to small for this product so I went H.D. looking for a case and none, my last option was to stuff the case with a round medicine bottle the size of a 12 oz. soda can, I sprayed the elastic lightly with water left it there over night. The next day the Bosch GLM 50 C easily slipped in and out with no problem to this day 2 months later. Hope this helps

Very useful tool
First impression in-use: Really nice tool. I renovate (not flip) homes so I need fast, accurate measurements. As others have noted it cannot do decimal inches, nor can it do metric (m, cm etc). Aside from that limitation it works very nicely. Chief complaint would be the lack of a smoothing function to account for hand shake; but it does give exceptionally accurate readings and has a threaded base should you wish to use a tripod for stability. Fits nicely in the hand and is easy to use. The level functions also works well. I haven't used bluetooth connectivity yet, but will update when I have done so. Outdoors, over longer distances, the obvious limitations apply; harsh, bright light without shadow becomes a problem over 30 feet, as does holding the device steady enough to get a solid reading; using the (provided) targets and a tripod I was able to get accurate 40 yard measurements (haven't tried further yet) under Arizona sun. Indoors was perfect. The longest uninterrupted run in our house is 69 feet. During daytime measurements the device, handheld and without using targets, had no problem continuously calculating the internal dimensions of our house. The laser is quite bright (although rated at <1mW) and the device does draws a considerable amount of power; so don't expect the batteries to last long in continuous use. I'd say this is primarily a handyman's/hobbyist's tool but that just an opinion - to me this tool is invaluable and I only wish I'd bought one earlier.

Great Laser Distance Measuring Instrument, Worth the Money!
This laser distance measurer is well worth the money for anyone who has to size up buildings for estimates or in my case size up rooms so they can be modeled in SketchUp's 3D modeling program. Trying to do this with a steel tape would take 2 or 3 times longer and probably need two people. I am very impressed with the accuracy and the built-in level, they work in real time and as a single measurement instrument. It also has the capacity to memorize several distances, areas, or volumes, which makes it easier to keep taking measurements instead of having to record each one before moving to the next measurement. I would recommend this product to others.

It's got an amazing set of features
This little guy blew my mind. It's got an amazing set of features, the screen is easy to read, and its small enough to pocket, but large enough to be usuable. I was prepared for the awesomeness of laser distance measuring, but the digital level, and cool bluetooth-to-app connection are the strawberries on the parfait. The Bosch GLM app is a little buggy, the built in calculator in the app (which is important!) is hard to use, but it does work (sometimes after a try or two). One cool feature of the digital level is that it works as a bullseye level, and it any orientation beeps when it hits level, so you can stick it on an appliance, or cabinet, work in your shims or adjust the leveling feet, and BEEP! Bullseye. My one gripe is that I wish it had a lockout switch for the power. I've pulled it out of its pouch to find it "on" a couple of times. Feature to add: Zeroing for the digital level, then I could use it to set angles on my table saw or mitre saw.
