Love, love, love this camera!! I'm going to Africa and needed a camera that could zoom and has great video. I didn't want to have to change lens and didn't want something too heavy or bulky. This camera has lots and lots of features. It is not for the faint of heart, you really have to read thru the manual that comes with the camera to understand what the camera can do. There is also an advanced camera manual online that I have downloaded but have not read yet. Really interested in learning how to do the post shot focusing. Already discovered that you can frame a close up shot and then just touch the LED screen where you want it to focus and it does it. Awesome!!! Also, really happy that Ritz camera sent me the US version of the camera with the warranty as promised on the website. Don't buy from Electronics Basket, they sent me the international version without the warranty but charged me the price for the US version and stated on the website that they sell the US version with the warranty, wrong, wrong, wrong.

This is a fantastic super-zoom camera! Image quality won't match a DSLR or even one of Panasonic's own Micro Four Thirds cameras, but I knew that going in (the small 1/2.3" CMOS sensor is the culprit). It was worth a sacrifice in ultimate image quality to get a 25-600mm equivalent lens with a constant F2.8 aperture. This opens up a lot more creative possibilities. This camera replaces my previous Canon PowerShot SX40 HS and I have to admit...the Panasonic features noticeably faster and more accurate AF while delivering similar image quality and overall performance. Yes, very nice camera, the FZ300.

I'm a casual photographer and I stepped up to this camera from a compact Panasonic travel zoom camera. The FZ300 has an incredible number of features and takes excellent photos. The fixed 2.8 aperture is a great feature not often found at this price. Even though this camera has been out for several years, I'm very pleased with it. This kit is a great deal for only a few dollars more than the camera itself. Even if you use only one item from it, you get your money's worth. I will certainly use the screen protector, UV filter and extra battery. (I've read that some third-party batteries don't accurately show the amount of charge left. I have not used it enough to know whether that is true with this battery.) I haven't decided about the case, and the SD card will be my spare, since I prefer a card with more memory.

This camera went to 10 different countries with me this summer. From Jamaica, all over Europe, and then to Canada. Tropical weather, humid weather, freezing cold. It performed a great everywhere. I love the zoom. Using a tripod, you can get great pictures even in dark. I felt comfortable backpacking with it, it's small enough to not draw too much attention. And tough enough to handle being shoved in my backpack or bouncing around on long hikes, even got rained on and I dropped it once. Still working great! I haven't used the flash at all, but the filters, tripod, carrying case, batteries, and charger, etc are fantastic for what you get for the price. I highly recommend this camera as a backpacking/travel camera. Would also be great for kids who are learning photography and ready to learn more advanced skills.

I have owned several super zoom cameras and DSLRs over the past ten years and can say the Panasonic FZ300 is by far the best camera I have ever owned. Even though the sensor size is smaller than a DSLR, the Leica lens makes up for any difference by providing a constant F 2.8 over its entire zoom range. The video quality is superb and blows away any DSLR period. The feature set in this camera is outstanding and no other camera comes close to doing things this camera can do. WIFI for remote shooting works flawless with many manual settings to select from. Remember if you buy a DSLR and want a telephoto lens for wildlife photography in the 400 to 600 mm range at F2.8 that lens will cost up to $2000.00 and be very heavy. This camera also has very fast processor and can focus very fast allowing you to never miss those fast action shots. As a bonus you can shoot in 4K Video and pull selected frames from the video for a great still shot. At this price point that Ritz camera is selling this camera for with all these accessories is the deal of deals. Check out Graham Houghton`s Youtube videos of this camera.

This camera replaces a serious-amateur level digital mirrorless camera with three lenses (a fast 50mm standard and two zooms), and associated gear. The zoom range and quality of photos is excellent, having a Leica lens is a plus, and the 4k features are exceptional. The fact that the zoom stays fast regardless of zoom is also a huge plus. This has features that other cameras in its price range and higher do not have, and having the zoom range in a small, light camera means the camera will be used. A camera that is too large, heavy or burdened by the need to haul lenses along is not a camera that gets used a lot, and this gets used a lot. The point is to take photos, not haul around a lot of stuff, and eventually defer to your smartphone for photos because your gear is too bulky and intrusive. The battery holds a charge quite well (a spare or two is always a good idea with any camera). I've owned Mamiya-Sekor, Pentax, Canon, Nikon, Konica, Minolta, Sony and Canon cameras over 60 years, and a few have been SLR superzooms along the way, and this is without any doubt the best designed, best performing camera of its type I have ever used. It fits the hand properly, uses dedicated controls instead of bewildering multi-function buttons and is both light and solid. Low light performance is excellent and 4k movies and sound are equally great, as is the ability to pull out sharp still easily from movies.

I have used a FZ200 for about 5 years until I recently dropped it. I had the FZ300 in about 3 days at about $100 less than the older camera. It was even better equipped, including a lens filter, cleaning kit, and spare battery. Although the basic features are similar, the number of new features is dizzying. I expect to have fun learning how to use the FZ300 all over again. I chose the FZ200 originally for the F2.8 constant aperture lens. The FZ300 continues the tradition.

This is the Panasonic DMC Lumix DMC FZ-300 which is the economy model of this group of Panasonic cameras. It's got a 25 mm to 600 mm Leica super-zoom lens, and can shoot at f2.8 across its range. It has remarkable stability, even fully extended making ultra long shots of birds and other small objects easier than I'm used to. It can still be difficult to find a small object with a fully extended lens -- that's a given -- but if you know where to point the camera, you can get your shot. This camera is a replacement for its predecessor, the FZ200 which died after consuming several batteries in a matter of minutes. Considering recent news about fireballs from exploding batteries, I decided not to push my luck and retire the camera lest it decide to retire me. I do not own a long zoom for my Olympus. The longest is a 300 mm equivalent and at f4-f5.6, it's kind of slow for low lighting. It has a built in flash, but I'm not fond of flash and almost never use it. I knew if I want to take pictures of birds this winter, this was the camera I would need -- and could more or less afford. I would have happily gotten either of its two higher end brothers, the FZ-1000 and the FZ-2500, both of which have a larger sensors -- but they were out of my price range. The FZ-300 is best of breed in its class. I love the way it handles. It's balanced, solid, but not heavy. I've been using a version of this camera for years. It's my "default camera," my "grab and go" favorite. Not light or compact but really good. Sometimes, it makes much more sense to buy the super-zoom camera than try to find a lens that will do the same thing for a system camera. Not only does it make financial sense, but frequently, you cannot get an equivalent lens ... at any price. They don't exist. If they did, the lens alone would cost easily four times what this camera costs. Since I became more serious about photography, I've always kept one camera with a good quality very long zoom lens. Some years go, I discovered this line from Panasonic and have had one ever since. Each new model has been an improvement over the previous one. I am grateful Panasonic has continued to produce them. The quality of the lens is really amazing. This is no simple little point & shoot. It's a real camera and if you can't afford a system ... or don't want to be bothered with multiple lenses ... consider this camera or it's bigger sensor relatives, the FZ 1000 or FZ 2500. A word about Ritz Camera, the seller: this came with a lot of extras including a bag, spare battery, 32 GB SD card. Much higher quality accessories that such bundles usually provide. MOST pleased!

This is by far, the best camera I've owned. I know there are higher end cameras in the Nikons and whatnots, but I also own a Canon Rebel EOS T2i with Tamron and Canon lenses. I love it too. But this Lumix I highly recommend as an easy to carry, overall camera. I just got back from NYC and took a bunch of great shots from Brooklyn across to Manhattan, on the East River. With the digital zoom, I could easily close in on the Chrysler Building or Empire State, and the auto stabilization makes the shots clear. The package deal was great and all the accessories and bag are nice too. I have a good friend who's a camera buff of low and high end cameras, and he told me about this. I've yet to even discover half of what it can do.

My Panasonic FZ1000 camera recently kicked the bucket & I could not afford another one & looked over other digital cameras & I decided on this Panasonic FZ300 new digital camera. I like to get fairly decent to excellent photos with my digital cameras. It's similar in appearance to the FZ1000, but with some cosmetic & internal differences. The CMOS sensor on this camera is not a 1 inch sensor, just a standard smaller CMOS sensor found in other bridge cameras. This camera has quite a lot of very nice stuff on it & I really like this camera already. PROS: OLED EVF [electronic view finder], excellent flip out/swivel LED or OLED rear view finder, 12.1 megapixels, constant F2.8 aperture lens, better burst shooting mode, 5 Axis Hybrid Optical Image Stabilization system, full manual controls, record button on top of the camera, 4K video AND 4K photo modes, panoramic mode, 24X optical zoom, zoom control rocker switch on lens barrel, auto view finer mode sensor, external flash hot shoe , decent built-in flash, mic jack, RAW photos capabilities, fast auto focus, uses all SD cards, & easy to use menu system. CONS: The adjustment wheel at the top of the camera by the mode selector wheel seems odd. My FZ1000 and FZ70 both Panasonic cameras have an internal wheel for when you adjust your exposure and other modes....you press in the wheel to finalize the adjustments....but with this camera, you have to press MENU/SET/OK button in the center of the 4-way control on the backside....which will take a little getting used to. Photo qualities inside with flash is pretty good & without flash actually not bad either. Photo qualities outdoors is excellent using up to modest zoom. Full zoom photos are a bit "grainy".....which I expected because even my Panasonic FZ1000 had fairly minor issues with "grainy" photos at full zoom [their zoom max is 15X optical zoom]. There are a variety of scene modes also with this camera. Video modes are great....quite a variety of video types you can choose from.....ranging from VGA to 4K videos. Menu system is typical Panasonic....easy to figure out. This camera has WiFi potential for those that needs it. Panasonic indicates this camera is "weather sealed" from light rain, snow or dust/dirt.....but I have not had any rain to test that yet. I know this camera will probably not take earthshaking great photos like the FZ1000, but from what photos I have taken so far with this camera, it really won't be a disapointment as this camera seems to take quite good photos too! If you want a decent digital camera that has a decent zoom range, good low constant aperture all thru the zoom range that can take a pretty good photo...indoors or outdoors even in lower lighting conditions and with lots of goodies on the camera, I really think this is about the best camera for the job....even tho the optical zoom is not quite as high as on other digital cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony or Panasonic [FZ70]....the camera still delivers a very nice photo. I am quite pleased with this camera & call it a "baby FZ1000" because it looks very similar to the FZ1000.
