From ONE STAR to FIVE STARS: Updated Review
Original review under this updated one: As it is the case in electronics, cars or spaceships, it is not uncommon to hit a defective product. Mine was, and the unit deserved 5 stars for everything about it, but only 1 star for its single year of activity. However, what makes a difference between several potentially defective products is the quality of the policy behind them. In this case, the seller ARTECK, contacted me about my review and promised to make things right, out of their own initiative! For the quality of the customer service behind their products, I give 5 stars to ARTECK. As for a review specific to the replacement keyboard they promised to send me, that will come after I receive it, of course. Previous keyboard review: (( Keyboard worked fine since purchase in Feb, 2017. A year later, and 4 weeks outside of warranty zone, Keyboard is fully charged, green light power indicator turns on for 2 seconds, but doesn't pair with my Nexus anymore. It isn't even found as a BT device anymore ))

Solid keyboard, good service
I love this keyboard. It's light, small-but-not-undersized, and it just works nicely. The battery lasts a long time too--I think I've charged it a couple times in my months of use (I use this almost exclusively at work). It stays connected well, which was an issue with my old bluetooth keyboard. I reprogrammed the keys so that they more closely match my mac keyboard and I can switch between my laptop and keyboard more easily. The only thing some people might find annoying is that you have to press two keys to get esc (fn + esc), but I don't use esc that much so I don't mind. I also had great customer service from the vendor. One of the keys stopped working on my keyboard (after a few months--ugh), and within 24 hours they sent me a code for a replacement. I appreciate that they were willing to stand behind their product, and that I'll get to keep using it.

Perfect little keyboard
The first thing you will notice about this keyboard is it's size. It's a minimalist keyboard with no extra buttons or wasted space. It's very thin and portable but feels solid, especially with the metal backing. The keys have a nice firm feel to them and are not too loud. They are standard size but thin compared to most keyboards. I personally like thin keys. There are little rubber pads on the four corners of the bottom to keep the keyboard from sliding. They work well and do not seem like they will easily rip off (something I've noticed in other keyboards). I also like the physical power switch on the bottom. My favorite feature is the rechargeable battery with microUSB. If the battery dies, I can just plug it into my computer. A cable is not included but you might already have a microUSB cable for your smartphone or another electronic device. So far, the battery has a good life, lasting several weeks of full-time work. This is a revised review after receiving a replacement from Artek. When I first received the keyboard, it had a feature that I did not like: all the F1-F12 keys and the Esc key required me to press Fn (like Fn+Esc) since those keys had other features on them. After leaving a 3-star review, Artek contacted me and kindly offered to send a new version of the keyboard where the F1-F12 keys and Esc key did not require pressing Fn. I accepted their offer and am happy with the replacement. Small suggestion: The microUSB port should be on the left side instead of the right side because the cable can get in the way of my hand using the mouse.

Far exceeds all expectations
This keyboard is amazing. I had been using an apple magic keyboard with my windows PC, but wanted something similar. This keyboard actually has a better typing feel for me than the apple keyboard. I immediately scored 15-20wpm faster using this keyboard the first time over the apple keyboard I had been using for years. The keys feel GREAT to type on. They have just enough travel and softness to them so that you don't feel like you are pounding your finger tips into a hard table, but not so much that it slows you down. The keys do not feel loose or wobble. They do not have to be hit just right to work, pretty much anywhere on them is a consistent performance. I am blown away by the quality of this keyboard. Not only are the keys solid, the entire frame and construction feels very solid. No easy flex or cheap feel. Also rather unique is some INTELLIGENT use of the arrows keys for PgUp/PgDn Home/End via the Fn modifier key. This seems so obvious, yet so few keyboards do this. Bluetooth pairing worked without hassles on my windows 10 laptop. My only concern with this keyboard is if they ever stop making it and I need another one, there is nothing else as nice for any price!

Perfect HTPC Keyboard
Great for home theater PC... I use it with a Lenovo stick PC plugged into a HDMI port of my large HDTV. Now I can access web-based entertainment sites (Acorn TV, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, et al) from the comfort of my recliner. Keyboard size is perfect - easy to use with my large hands but small enough to rest on wedge table beside my recliner. Charge overnight and good for six months.

It did not work at first !!! GREAT customer service
First, This keyboard did not work at first. It goes to sleep, but the only thing I could do was to turn it OFF / ON. It was so good I was living with that. I did, after a 2 weeks send a detailed email to support. They answered immediately with their solutions for how to "wake up" the device. I tried those suggestions but did not make any difference. I waited 2 weeks. I replied to the eMail thread and immediately received a reply. "We will replace this", you do not have to send the first on back. SO SIMPLE !! I sent them the order number, they did the rest. So now after a few weeks of use, I LOVE this keyboard. As you can see from the first picture below, it is really the same size a a regular keyboard. BUT, it is the keyboard I have been looking for, for 20 years... REALLY! I have never used a keypad, I am right handed, so the mouse always was to the right. I tried several small keyboards but never liked the layouts. ( I am a full touch typist and can hit all the keys by feel ). This finally came to a head when I wanted to enhance my photo editing with a WACOM tablet. 2nd Picture. I am now a mouse / table user. When I am in full photo edit mode I can slide my table down easily. With the new keyboard, it seems to wake up by itself, and just act like a key board. If I have to wake it up I just press the CAPS LOCK key and it wakes up ( the light will be blue ). Then hit the CAPS LOCK again to get out of upper case mode. As far as touch typing, it is just an excellent experience. AND it is SO cheap.

Solid portable keyboard that works on your lap (make sure to get the right version)
Updated review: Following my last review I was contacted by the seller, who sent me a replacement keyboard with the esc and function keys fixed! As mentioned/promised, I now believe this is a 5-star product! I'm not sure how you can ensure you get this version when you order it, but the only visual difference is the function keys are all white (both the F1 and logo) on the one that works correctly. Previous review: There are several things to like about this keyboard, but a single terrible design cannot be overcome. I'll start with the pros: - Great form factor, fits my Surface perfectly (including in the cases I've had) - Firm, solid design. Keys hit solid, no rocking or give in it (I type pretty hard) - Keys all feel about the right size, and organizationally the keys are good (many compact keyboards put the delete key in a tough spot, etc). - Battery life is excellent The only problem I have with it is that the escape (esc) key requires you to hold down the function key (as do all top function keys). Which means the quick 'escape' button is just about useless as you have to go find the function key first (or use a mouse or something). Every time you hit esc (and you start to realize exactly how often that is once you get this keyboard) it launches a new browser home page. Come on guys, nobody really thought this design through. I was really hoping I could download some firmware or software fix that let me change the key functions or something, but I couldn't really find anything on the company (which actually makes me wonder if I'm sending all my keystrokes to some Chinese Underground outfit...). Would love to give this 5 stars, but it's unusable due to the function key disaster. Mine's been donated to my 5 year old.

Satisfaction with every "Click" I type
My intention: Finding a keyboard that fits the ergonomic shape and key layout as my Surface Pro 4 Type keyboard. Takeaway: This is a satisfyingly dope keyboard Pros: - Keys are springy (also have that über satisfying "click" sound) - Keyboard spacing feels open (providing space for my big fingers) - The metal casing in the back - gives it that high quality feel - Rubber pads on base keep it firmly in-place Cons: - keys on top row (Fn keys) don't exactly line up with the Surface Pro 4 Keyboard (frankly this is just a personal con)

Works well but auto-shut-off is driving me nuts.
Update: Arteck saw my review and sent me out 2 replacement keyboards. I've been working with one for a day and so far, no delay. Functions quite well and I've had it for 2 months, but the auto-shut off feature is making me crazy. It turns off after 15 mins of inactivity and requires you to touch a key or keys for 3 seconds to wake it, but I never know if it's been 15 minutes so I just start typing, and it loses the first couple words and I have to go back. Given the option, I'd go for an option to have it plugged in constantly and disable the auto turn-off. But leaving it plugged in doesn't work.

I'll use my tablet a lot more now.
I had a chance to use this keyboard with my tablet today to work on a big spreadsheet. It connected right up with the tablet and worked flawlessly. This would have been impossible without the bluetooth keyboard due to the virtual screen keyboard taking up most of the screen area. The keyboard feel is great for a touch typist and all the usual keys, like the shift keys, are in the expected places. The steel back makes it feel sturdy but doesn't add much weight, and the silicone feet keep the keyboard from sliding around on the table. I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life.
