• Used to increase the alkalinity in swimming pools, helping to ensure the proper pH balance of the water.
  • Can be used as a strong degreaser to clean greasy build up from pots and pans, oven racks, drip pans, oil stains and more.
  • Effectively disinfects and softens water. Used in most dishwashing detergents, all-purpose cleaners, glass cleaners, stain removers, countertop cleaners, sanitizing sprays and bleach
  • Considered to be green, soda ash is a naturally occurring chemical found in soil and water and doesn't cause any adverse effects on wildlife or water if low amounts are released into the environment.
  • Help to boost laundry detergents by softening the water, allowing regular detergents to be easily suspended and spread in the wash. It also poses as a successful disinfecting solvent.

We had problems with our well and my linens came out of the laundry beige where the were white. I thought they were ruined. I took this to the laundromat and washed them again. They came out like new. My colors are also brighter. I had previously given this a bad review because there are no instructions for using. For laundry, I added a 1/2 - 1 cup depending on the load. I will be buying more.

I pretty much always keep this stuff on hand now. It's fantastic at getting biofilms and oils off of plastic, and it rinses off cleanly without leaving residue or smell. So I use it instead of bleach on things like our indoor cats' PetFlow water fountain, the outdoor cats' water bowls, the hummingbird feeders, the coffeemaker, Camelback water bottles and reservoirs, and so on. For the water fountain, water bowls, and hummingbird feeders, I use a couple of tablespoons per sinkful of hot water, soak the items being cleaned for about 5 to 10 minutes, then scrub all the surfaces with a sponge or brush and rinse. It's that easy. Add a small amount to water bottles or Camelbak reservoirs, add some hot water (leave room for expansion!), close and shake well. If you let it sit for a few minutes, you won't even need to add soap; just rinse.

Used 4 grams of this with 6 grams of 99% PURE Sodium Percarbonate - 2 LB Bottle (solid hydrogen peroxide, Sodium carbonate hydrogen peroxide, sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, oxygen bleach) and was extremely pleased with the results. These two products are way more affordable than Breville BTM100 Revive Organic Tea Cleaner for Breville BTM800XL Tea Maker, especially considering the number of uses I'll get out of these containers!

great for my pool as a pH booster. It's a great counter-measure for acid rain here in New England

I bought this product (sodium carbonate) to remove tarnish from silverware. Using a hot aqueous solution of sodium carbonate in a plastic bowl lined with aluminum (foil), a redox reaction takes place (aluminum is oxidized and silver (in the form of silver sulfide) is reduced). This newer and preferred method of removing tarnish is safer, easier, less expensive, and yields a cleaner & shinier silver finish. I found that this 99% Pure Soda Ash (from FDC) does the job.

I bought this to make Mary Hunt’s homemade washing solution but have not used it yet. It was a great price and in an easy to handle container. I’m sure I will enjoy it.

I have an old Corning Ware percolator coffee pot that gets quickly stained. I can get it cleaned with Arm & Hammer Raindrops, but that product has recently been discontinued. Raindrops was mostly sodium carbonate, so I went for the straight stuff, and, sure enough, it cleans the pot terrifically well, and cheaper. End of story.

I bought it as a substitute for the "Revive Organic Tea Cleaner" to clean my Breville tea maker, which is really just Sodium Carbonate. I used it as instructed as "Revivie", i.e. boil the water in the tea maker and add about 10g, let stand about 5 min and rinse. It worked just as well and got rid of all the tea stain, but ten times cheaper.

94% purity, sound packaging and prompt shipping. What more to ask for. It seems the purchase price just covers shipping a 25 lb package. No need to transfer to moisture proof storage...relatively heavy zip lock package is adequate. If your in the market for this product, give these folks serious consideration.

I bought this for activating the procion dye I was using to dye a woven wrap. Worked perfectly, and the container it came in was much better than those plastic bags that end up spilling everywhere and can't be properly resealed.
