This is a well designed and solidly built product, but, during installation, I managed to break it. (Details follow; read on...) Sunvalleytek, the seller, was so good as to overlook my bungling and send me a replacement bicycle mount. That, in itself, is worth five stars! To avoid my mistake, be aware: there is a long, threaded shaft running through the jaws of the handlebar clamp. (Obviously, it has something to do with the tightness of the jaws.) On one end of this shaft is a cap nut; on the other end, is a washer and a quick-disconnect lever. Note that both the cap nut and the lever are cemented with loctite to the threaded shaft. Do NOT try to loosen the cap nut or quick-disconnect lever to adjust the jaw tension. (That's what I did. Then, when I realized that both the cap nut and the lever are supposed to remain sealed, I tried to secure them with crazy glue. The glue ran and froze the quick-disconnect lever. So I ruined a perfectly good cellphone mount.) Note that the threaded shaft passes through a slot in the upper jaw, but it screws through a metal pivot-pin in the lower jaw. To adjust the jaw clamping tension, position the unit next to the bike handlebars with the quick-disconnect lever up and the cap nut facing down. Keeping the quick-disconnect lever extended, grasp the cap nut with thumb-and-forefinger and screw the threaded shaft until the jaw-opening just clears the handlebar. Position the unit on the handlebars and turn the cap nut and shaft (by hand) until the jaws are snug. Finally, press down and close the lever. I don't have a smart phone, so I use this holder for my GPS (in pedestrian mode). Good luck!

At first glance I loved it. But then I went to assemble the unit to use and it wouldn't assemble. You're suppose to put the silicone web between the holder and the mount and then slide the holder onto the mount. But the silicone web doesn't allow the mount to slide onto the mount because of the thickness. The silicone web is what holds your phone securely on while you're riding. I then tried to see if the mount would slide on without the web and it slide right on. The problem now is that the holder will not slide off of the mount. I cannot use the phone holder at all because I will not use it without the web and you can't get the web on because it's too thick to fit between the holder and the mount. And now I can't get the holder to disengage from the mount. So just wasted pieces of plastic to me. Can't use it. Follow up to my last review. I have to take back my low rating. The shipper contacted me after I left my first review. They helped me resolve my issue and even sent me a photo to help. I was able to put the silicone webbing onto the mount. It actually was able to stretch over the clamp and is now positioned between the mount and holder. Now, its outside and not in between the actual mount and holder where it actually connects. You have to stretch one of the webbing holes in the middle and pull it over the mount to sit between the mount and holder. And it still works this way! Thank you for helping me.

So far so good. I've only gone on 3 bicycle rides with it and it has performed wonderfully. I have a Nexus 6 with a Rinkemax case and it does fit this mount. My phone has stayed on through some bumpy bits of trail and the occasional bunny hop on my cyclocross bike which does not have shocks. I appreciate the warranty as well and I got card with mine for an additional 6 months. Hopefully I won't have to use it. I'll possibly update my review if anything changes. Side note: I forgot to bring lights for a night rise and I was able to use my phone's flashlight with this mount to give me some light for the trail and to make myself known to traffic. P.S. the instructions were a little hard to understand how to make the clamp tighter, but after looking at the online ones it made more sense. You just twist the lever side, that's it. Maybe I was getting too anxious and saw the nut on the other end and tried to tighten it with the nut, but don't do that. It's stuck for a reason. Hope this review helped

I purchased this mostly because it was highly rated on amazon and because it was fairly inexpensive, when it arrived the packaging was nice (it includes two silicone(rubber?) bands to ensure your phone stays put one black and one orange). I had a minor factory defect which was immediately resolved, beyond my expectations, by the warranty. I wanted to wait a bit before writing up my review so I could get a good idea of how well this was going to last. As such I've had my holder for about a month now and everything is holding up perfectly, the phone is stable but easily rotates if you want it to for any reason. Installation and removal of the phone takes only a few seconds, and is very secure. Because of my previously mentioned issue I now also have a lot of faith in the company (TaoTronics) and know that if something were to fail I'd be covered. I want to take a second to thank Fafa again for their help in resolving my issue, honestly can't say enough good things about this product or this company. Keep up the great work!

Bright example of simple and beautiful engineering. When I took it out of box, my thought was to verify, if I indeed payed for it that little? The fixture is mounted to the steering bar or to the stem with the clamp that is tightened with quick release skewer. That means is that you do quick release when needed and the system is vibration proof when you riding. The clamps have thick rubbed pads so not to worry about sliding along the bar and over/under tightening the quick release. The rubber holder (orange on the photo, and they provide with the spare one to) is cut that way, so is it brakes on one corner, it still holds the phone on 3 remaining corners. More secure could be a metal chest, especially when left at home with the phone in it.

This is a good fix for the phone. Comfortable and functional. But it has one big drawback. The upper base for the phone is attached to the bottom base by the principle of mounting in the groove and shifting forward. Then a faint click. The problem is, the phone is securely attached to the base with clamping and rubber bands. But the base is very poorly fixed. When I'm driving through the forest, on the hummocks the phone can spontaneously disengage from the mount. Because it's just a click. I had to turn the phone in a horizontal position. Now it is attached by moving horizontally. And on a bad road jumps vertically. While this saves him from falling. But the method of attachment is not at all reliable. One day my phone fell. Fortunately it was a forest and it did not get much damage. 09/25/2018. Addition to the recall. I was contacted by a TaoTronics representative and sent a NEW phone holder for a replacement. The new holder has a rigid and reliable attachment. I am very pleased with the service of TaoTronics. I fasten the old fasteners to epoxy glue and put my son on the bicycle.

I have an iPhone 7plus and this holds my phone well. I've tried others that will hold an iPhone 7plus but only without the case. I'm looking forward to riding with it soon when the next warm day rolls in this winter.

Easy to install. Worked good work my STYLO3 and MOTO G6, both had a case on them. There rubber band to secure the phone hasn't broke yet, but they did package an extra one.

Received this the other day and have already had it on for about 100 miles of riding. It's awesome. Took me a few times to get it tight enough ... or maybe it loosend up a bit. (I have it mounted to the top of my gooseneck. It came with rubber adapters that should allow it to fit a variety of tubes on most bikes.) But it works great. The rubber padding seems to keep my phone relatively jostle-free while I ride. The orange straps ensure that it stays put fore-aft, while the sides keep it located side-to-side. Absolutely LOVE the one-touch release feature! Just push the little button on the right side and the side rails slowly retract. So cool and makes it easy to remove the phone when I need to. Overall, seems like a great product. Highly recommended. And I think I paid like $11 for it, which is a steal. So much better than having to keep it in one of my shirt back pockets, like I'd been doing.

I purchased the "Taotronics Bike Phone Mount Bicycle Holder, Universal Cradle Clamp" via Amazon Prime, and received it in 2 days with no damage to external or retail packaging as expected. The mount came in it's retail box, assembly and clamping was very easy, no tools necessary. In order to attach the mount to your bike, you simply tighten the latch screw by hand until it's a little less than tight on the bike, then use the latch to tighten and lock it into place. It also comes with a silicon web (2 colors: red or white) to add to the phones stability and to keep it secure while potentially bouncing around while biking. I use it with my Samsung Galaxy S5 which has a small silicon case, and it fits great. The arms on the mount are arched inward so it holds the phone in place snug. It also holds my wife's Samsung Galaxy S5 with a Otterbox case (thick with sliding card compartment). The mount can turn 360 degrees, so you can decide how you want to view your phone. I mention 360 degrees because I had to rotate it not just 90 degrees for landscape, but 180 degrees because my power gets plugged into the bottom of the phone, and I needed to turn it upside down so I could plug my phone into a portable power source that was in a basket in front which worked out great with the mount since the screen rotates with it. Overall I love this mount, and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Just read the specs and make sure your device fits.
