Luckily for us (and my neighbor), it does exactly what it's meant to do!
This will be the second one I have purchased. I bought the first one just before winter so I wouldn't have to go outside with my dogs for times when it's cold and they just need to relieve themselves. It has worked out incredibly well and it's definitely been put through its paces! It held up to my 60 lb. Pyrenees mix doing her best to get loose when we had a neighbor cutting through our yard without permission, which was a massive relief since she can be aggressive with strangers! I've had to go tighten it back into the ground once or twice, but it's only been after extensive rain when the ground would be positively soggy.

This Stake is a BEAST!!!
Calling it "sturdy" would be an understatement. The corkscrew design is easy to install and rock-solid once in the ground. What sets this apart from other stakes is the orange collar that reinforces lateral stability. Fido can pull and pull, but he won't be dislodging this anchor any time soon.

So far so good...

Works great, even when the ground is wet it still ...
Works great, even when the ground is wet it still stayed in place and doesn't start to rock back and forth loosening the ground.

Better than those flimsy alternatives, just buy this one first
Pro-Tip: bring a tool to grip the top handle for leverage as you install this. I found that the claw on the back of a hammer works perfectly. Alternately, I've used a pair of pliers as well. In reality, we rarely manage to insert this thing all the way to the ground so that the orange safety cap really does its job. But my dog (~50 pounds) is not a tremendous puller, and it is certainly safe enough for him.

Well Done Stayk!
I purchased this product after much debate and research. I was very impressed by the well thought-out design and the company's response team. Even though we have an in-ground invisible fence system, I was warned by the breeder, that my Great Pyrenees puppy was not to be trusted without a visible fence or a sturdy tie-out. We can't have an above-ground fence in our neighborhood, so a tie-out that would hold a 100 lb.+ dog would be a necessity. So far, this Intelli-Stayk is everything I was looking for. Easy to install and remove when necessary and still very secure. The ground was pretty soft when I put it in, so I tested it by pulling the cable I had attached to it in every direction. It didn't budge a bit! My husband put it to the test later with the same result. Our puppy isn't full-grown yet but she's already pretty strong. Sometimes, she forgets that she's tied and will go running after our other dog (who's trained on the invisible fence). She knows when she reaches the end of the cable that she's not going any farther! This has really given us peace of mind in knowing that we can safely put our dog out for a little while and not have to watch her every second or walk around with her on the leash. We are very happy that we purchased this product.

Holds back 70lb dog with ease
Great product. Holds back our 70lb lab easily. I used a metal rod for leverage to screw it all the way into the lawn. It's not going anywhere - ever - unless I get the rod back out and unscrew it. I use the harness for my dog with it so he doesn't hurt his neck running too fast. Even with his full pulling strength, this thing doesn't even begin to budge. Awesome product.

This one works!
I have tried other kinds of stakes for my dog's tie out. My dog is medium sized, but could yank any of the screw in stakes of the out of the ground. I live in a condo, so putting in a fence, even an electric one is forbidden. When I saw how this one works, I was interested. MY son in law helped me get the screw all the way in the ground, and it has worked great! I check it all the time and it hasn't moved an inch! So if you have a jumpy dog that can pull out a regular dog stake, try this one!

Super solid
This is a seriously stout auger. The little hole saw type lock is plastic, even though it looks like metal in the picture, but it does the job, nonetheless. I'm a fairly strong fella, so i tested it before tying the dog up, and was really impressed. It is absolutely locked in. The trick to making it work is to use your body weight to auger it into the earth. If you're not leaning on it, it will only churn up dirt. Once you get it about 80% into the ground it will become hard to turn and you may need some channel locks or a pair of vise grips to finish turning it. But once it's screwed down, you can be certain it's not going anywhere.
