Wonderful idea and well made
My 8-year-old son picked this out this kite from the choices available to him on Amazon, and he loves it. The tail is so long it's kind of crazy. You need a lot of open space to fly it because if that tail starts whipping around, it covers a lot of area. It doesn't take a lot of wind to get the kite started, but it does take a decent breeze to get the whole thing up in the air and to get it to stay there. In a strong wind it could have quite a bit of pull for small children. My 8-year-old has had no issues, so far. The tail is removable, but if you take it off, you need to add something else as a small tail to balance it out, otherwise it doesn't stay up. You could also cut the tail down in size, if you wish, but you don't need to do that. If it's a very light breeze, take some light streamer material and tie it to the two buttons where the tail attaches, and you'll be able to fly high in very light breezes. The kite looks amazing when it's in the air and moving back and forth. We're very happy with it, especially at this price.

Very easy to fly!
This is way easier than you think to get up in the air. Was at Bodega Bay in October and this was the bomb. The only thing was that after I had it in my head that it looked more like a sperm cell than a snake my kite flying experience had a different aura about it.

My boys had a blast flying these. Well made and worth the money. Unique kite.

One Huge Snake in the Sky
This is HUGE! It really is 40+ feet long! Here in the windy Midwest it flies GREAT! There are two parts to this kite. The first part is the head with a tiny tongue which I was was larger. There are support rods that go in the back and tie to the kite. The tail is by far the longest part of this kite. Make sure you secure it tightly. It looks like a snake swaying in the sky.

I really liked this kite because its so BIG
I really liked this kite because its so BIG, so big in fact that I wasn't able to get it into the air, but it still was really fun to try, you should definitely think about this kite, it may be too much for a little kid to handle since it took me and a friend to get it a few feet into the air, also the tail is really long like REALLY long, like so long that we needed 3 people to help carry it. This kite is really fun and cool and I highly recommend it... if you think you can handle it.

Very well designed kite, easy to set up, fly and store.
I really liked this kite! I flew it at the beach where there was a pretty steady strong wind. It took right off from my hand and never really had a problem. In a shifting wind or if the wind slows you have to watch it. It won't dive but it will just start sinking so you just need to reel it in to keep the line tight. I like that it was simple to carry, no strings to get tangled and I was easily able to get it back in the little bag it comes in. Some instructions would have been nice but its obvious where the sticks go and you just tie the loops over the sticks and then tail is pretty obvious where it ties on as well. You can just leave it all tied after you pull the sticks out and fold it up. A year later.... A rod broke while assembling on the beach. Be careful assembling in the wind. A gust came up and lifted the tip while I was holding the rod and it snapped. Not sure there is a replacement available so I'll need to find something that length to replace it.

Great easy flier. Took a little time to roll up the 45 foot tail when we were done.
This kite was great. Very easy to fly. got it up in the air in about 5-10mph of wind no problem. Tail is very long. Only drawback is that it takes a while to roll the tail back up to store.

The first thing I did when I got there was say hello to my family and open this bad boy up
Honestly not one complaint. I bought this for memorial day weekend, it came on top and I drove up to Wisconsin with it. The first thing I did when I got there was say hello to my family and open this bad boy up. It took no more than 5 minutes to set up and it was the perfect windy day. With a good running start I had it in the air in no time. The kids loved it and were able to hold onto it. And other people on the lake were impressed saying things like "that's so cool". The tail is very long and is mesmerizing in the sky. My only suggestion would be to buy a longer spool of string if you don't have one already. It does go pretty high up, but if you're anything like me, you'll want to push the envelope and see how far this slithery snake can ride the horizon.

lots of fun
I'm a 65-year young woman and bought this kite. It arrived yesterday, and today I was having a blast flying it in the street where I live. It's an over 55 community so of course, everybody thinks I'm a little crazy, but who cares. I got this up in the air in no time, had the entire spool of thread out and the kite danced in the air. It's a great kite for the money but I have to buy better and longer string and reinforce the slots where you put the stick, other than that awesome kite
