As anyone who has ever tried to back up a minivan will know, doing so without a backup camera is just asking for trouble. No matter how slowly you go, or how careful you think you are being, there's a huge blind spot which means there can be a pedestrian or another vehicle in your way. After a number of close calls (and one minor collision), I had had enough. This system works great. The replacement rearview mirror attaches to the front of the stock mirror, and I can even continue to use the stock mirror's electronic compass. It took me a while to route the wire through all the various trim pieces of my Honda Odyssey, but it was worth the effort. The camera works well, even at night, and provides a wide viewing angle. The only caution I would make is that some states are very particular about anything that covers any part of the license plate. If you live in one of these states, you might consider one of the other versions of this system which use a camera that attaches to the body of the car instead of the plate, such as LeeKooLuu Car Backup Camera & Mirror Monitor Kit Rear View camera.

It's kind of a no-brainer. If you have an older vehicle like mine which did not come with a backup camera, but you want a backup camera for the safety and convenience it offers you then you can have one for only $36! This one works right out of the box. I have an analog surveillance system which I was able to plug the power in to test the rear view mirror screen and confirm its receiving the feed from the supplied camera and it all worked exactly as advertised. Covering the brightness sensor also sent the camera into night mode which activated the LEDs and the color filter. Very very nice for $36, I'm very impressed with what you get in this package. The rear view mirror is also very wide and offers a better view than the smaller mirror I currently have on the car. Definitely happy with this purchase.

First the downside, the screen it's not bright enough during the day, it works, it is hard to see but it works, that is the ONLY thing that I didn't like BUT not a big deal compare to everything else. I took it to Central America, I choose this one because it's price is so low compare to similar products (I thought somebody would steel it from the car), it comes with EVERY single thing that I would need, the camera looks just like a regular license plate, the mirror so I don't have to have a stupid ugly screen somewhere on my dash (a screen would call thieves attention), ALL the wire that I could possible need, really ease and fast to install. It's been a year and everything still works just great

The kit came fast and was easy to install on my sedan, connected to the rear lights. It turns straight on as soon as I put the stick in rear mode, and I get a clear image of what is behind me. Just yesterday I was certain it is clear behind me when I left home, and as soon as I put my stick in rear mode, I saw that the new dustbin had been left by someone just behind my car. Just in time it was saved! Great job Leekooluu. The kit also came with a promotion offer for an additional device, and I will not miss it.

This is a super easy kit to install. The hardest part is getting power to the camera, but there is an adapter available that plugs into any available cigarette lighter. I really like this product. I purchased b/c I don't have good rear viewing in my hatchback due to the headrests getting in the way. This item can also be used as a backup camera by supplying power when your car is in reverse. But I leave mine on all the time. It takes a little getting used to b/c it clips over your mirror, but once you are over that learning curve, it's a winner.

Works great. Easy to install with the instructions on the box, or the leaflet. You connect the video (Yellow) cable from the mirror to the camera: Positive (Red) from camera to positive from mirror to positive from backlight. Ground (Black) from camera to ground from mirror to ground from back light, that's it. Or you can look on YouTube. The most cumbersome part is routing the cable from the mirror to the backlight. One little complaint is the power cable is not long enough to run from the mirror to the backlight, even on a small car like the Honda Fit. I had to splice it. The Video cable is more than enough. The friends I bought it for are very happy with it. I am buying a third one now for my bro in law. CUSTOMER SERVICES ARE GREAT TOO... AFTER I BOUGHT 2, THEY SENT ME ONE FOR FREE (Just receive it, thank you Andy). That one will be for my Sis in law...

Initial reaction is good. It was easy to install and the screen in the mirror has a great picture. Installed on my wifes 2012 Kia Optima, the viewable area on the screen was much wider than I expected. I could stand to the outside edge of the brake light and I was still visible. The camera itself has some adjustment up and down to suit your needs. To install the camera, I used the backup light bulb wiring. For the mirror, I used the power at the lights in the overhead console. Its an easy place to find switched 12V. The wiring was the perfect length to run from the camera to the mirror in my situation. Update: So far the system still works well. However, in direct sunlight the picture washes out pretty bad. Not sure if anything can be done about it though.

You can't beat the functionality for the price. I installed it myself after tinkering with the product for a bit. Not terribly difficult. The hardest part is to find the reverse light wires and a suitable ground. Here is a step by step for those of you who want to try installing it yourself. 1. Start by finding the wires that drive the white reverse light. Only lights up when your car is in reverse. Set your park brake, put car in reverse, and use a voltmeter to figure out which wire is +12V and which is ground. (See picture 2) 2. Trace these wires to a convenient connector. See picture 3. I used a ready splice to tap into the +12V side of the reverse light wire. Then, find a suitable ground. I found a nearby bolt that is attached to a metal part of the body. 3. The next trick is to run these wires from inside the car to the underbody. On my car, there is a rubber passthrough grommet for the license plate lights. I ran the wires through this grommet. (picture 4 and 5) You might have to cut the rubber grommet to get the wires through, but make sure you tape it shut afterwards so it doesn't leak water into your car's interior. 4. The next step is to wire the +12V to the red wire on the camera and power cord. Then wire the ground to the black wire on the power cord. The short red wire on the camera runs all the way up to the mirror, so the +12V when car is in reverse will cause the display to show only when the car is in reverse. I also zip tied these wires to prevent accidental disconnect (picture 6). 5. Run the video cable from the trunk area to the mirror. This part takes some creativity to hide the wire. I used the trim on the rocker panel as well as the trim on the A pillar between the front door and windshield. (picture 7). 6. Connect the short red wire on the video cable to the red power adapter wire at the mirror. There's no need to connect the ground on the power connector at the mirror. You can if you want, if there is a suitable ground. 7. I tucked all the wiring above the headliner above the mirror to hide it all. The only visible part is the wire from the mirror up to the headliner, and a short section around the edge of the dash. 8. The mirror is seamless from the driver's seat (see picture 1). The passenger will see that you have a clip on mirror. (picture 8) 9. The video can be adjusted for brightness and contrast, but it may still be a bit hard to see in bright sunlight with reflections. Otherwise it is fine. The mirror is dimmer in daylight than the OEM mirror, but that doesn't bother me. At night, it is very bright (picture 9). 10. I only wished the camera showed more of a wide angle (fish eye). Otherwise, the product is solid, and you can't beat the price. Good luck installing yours!

For $30, you can't beat this. Install took about 2 hours, and you need to have some basic knowledge of electrical circuits. This kit comes with all of the wires and connectors needed. All you need is a knife, wire stripper and whatever tools you need to take apart your trunk. One thing I would suggest is making sure everything works before you conceal your wires and put your trunk back together. The 20 ft cable was plenty long for my VW Jetta. One thing that would make this nicer would be if the mirror harness was a bit longer, giving you more flexibility to conceal the 3 large RCA connectors. I would suggest using the cords that come in this kit and not trying to use the wireless add-on that is also offered on Amazon.
