My son and I have been working together through the lessons. In a short time, his grasp of coding concepts has vastly improved. We finished the Pong game and immediately set to tinkering, changing the graphics, sounds, etc in order to make it "his own". In doing so, we both developed a better understanding of the code. We have finished the fish game, which before it was even done, had been changed into a scuba diving game including a graphic of my son as the diver! Every night he asks if we can do more coding. We have tried other courses, usually they end up being subscriptions to online forums. This is a complete course with individual lessons, excellent customer support and service and Seth, the owner, is as nice as they come. Highly recommended!

I got this as a project for my 9 and 15 year old to work on together. They are both really interested in programming. It was very easy to get up and running and I liked that the free 8gb usb drive wasn't one of those install and re-use "bonuses" - it came empty as a true extra. The packaging does indicate that the program is for ages 10+ and I think it's important to remember that when you let your younger kiddo work with it - it's an easy program, but they will likely need assistance from someone a little older. That's exactly why this is a great thing to have my kids work on together.

My sons have been wanting to learn coding for a long time, so after doing my research I finally decided to try this one out. My 13 y.o is very happy and he has been able to complete the first lesson all on his own. He says he likes it a lot and he is asking for Phyton for when he finishes this course. My 12 y.o is about to begin the course but I'm sure he won't have any issues either. I also want provide a 5 ⭐️ review for the superb customer service I have received from the company (I believe from the owner but I'm not 100% sure) . He has replied to all my emails and has been very supportive every time I have a question. Thank you!!

I work with code everyday with my business and also homeschool my kids. I've been looking for a good online program for my oldest to start to help get him on the right path and learning some code. Coding for Kids has been a great fit for our family and he's learning so much already! Learning to code is like learning to speak a new language and Simply Coding has done a great job of making that process fun for kids- or anyone else- that decides to take this program. Highly recommend!

My son (age 10) loves the simply coding platform game designer. He has been wanting to make games for a while, and has played around with scratch and a few other things here and there, but this was a whole new level of game making for him. I've seen him make great strides in understanding how coding works. He has learned concepts and tools that have helped him be creative, and he takes great pride in the work he's been able to do. The Simply Coding people have been very responsive and encouraging when he's needed help, and that is a huge plus as well. The "platform" game designer actually takes you through three separate games to code from start to finish, offering helpful videos and hints that make sure you will get things right. Great product!

Basically, I love this - the web site is super responsive and clearly well-coded. The tasks easy to implement and a great learning tool. I recommend heartily. I am learning, and I've got a much better sense of coding than the intended audience. Creative gaming an excellent way for children/newbies to learn - indeed! My only two minor complaints are user interface/experience in nature. The flash drive provided has no explanation and I spent a bit of time wondering what was on there and how to launch. It's intended to be blank, a shuttle drive, and a simple note would have sufficed. Similarly, once you arrive at "My Courses" online, there is no intuitive way to know that the courses are located in a folder in the left column - it is not self-evident. A simple icon or statement indicating that would have been helpful. Not enough to even be much of a concern, just a couple user experience improvements that are easy to implement.

The program was challenging, which is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I purchased it for our son (12). The many other classes he's taken have been fun, but not an intellectual stretch for him. With the help of this course, our son transformed a loosely-held "extra-curricular activity" into a serious personal pursuit, completing both the java game lessons & also his first ever HTML Website. TWO THINGS: 1) Don't let yourself get stuck. I highly recommend use of the support services offered with the course: live chat, email, weekend teacher sessions. The format is similar to an online college course an adult might take. (online classroom navigation is another skill I'm happy my son has learned). For us, once my wife and I felt comfortable with the LiveChat support team, we encouraged our son to reach out directly to them as he pursued completion of his online lessons. 2) I found that our previous efforts to get our son typing these last 2 summers was invaluable coming into this course. The course doesn't have typing as a prerequisite, however our sons basic keyboarding skills made step-wise progress readily attainable. He's not a quick typist, for sure, BUT he is confident at his "8-10 words per minute"... which helped a ton. While the course strives to be kid-friendly, it DOESN'T water down the reality of coding as a language. My son is proud of the work that he's done toward learning these computer languages. He loves showing HIS website to people... especially when they look bewildered about his expressed interest in coding. There's something fantastic about my kid helping a grandparent pull up a website that he literally created-from-nothing on the grandparent's iPhone.

This Coding for Kids Game Design Software will be an amazing gift for my 10 year old nephew. He is homeschooled and loves mine craft. This system will teach my nephew how to create his own games and help promote his thinking skills and help his imagination run wild. I love that it comes with the live chat to help him/his parents if it's necessary. The program comes with complete instructions on what you have to do to access the online activities, access codes, tutorials. The program works on both Mac and pc computers.

My 8 year old son said MOM GIVE THIS 5 STARS for sure. I was a bit worried to try this for him as it is for 11+, but I was super happy to find that he does just fine with it. My husband helped him with setting up a folder on the desktop to and the initial sign in, but other than that we just let him go through it by himself. He says it is easy to understand instructions and a lot of fun. This generation is total tech savvy and I am thankful there are things out their to teach the kids while they are young and so able to soak it all in.
