Great Ukulele. Strings needed adjusting during the first week, but have kept in tune since then. Accessories are great, tuner is very helpful. My teen can't put it down.

I got this 21" Economic Soprano Ukulele Start Pack by ADM for my wife who is a musician of many sorts. This review is based on her experience using the product. Ukuleles are a string instrument made from a hollow soundboard and four strings. They look like a mini guitar. They have an hourglass base and a fingerboard neck. Often, ukulele manufacturers make the strings from stainless steel or nylon, and the instrument's tuning should be (in order) the notes of G, C, E and A. Most ukuleles have wood construction. However, musicians may find less expensive versions built from plastic. There are a variety of models including: soprano, concert, armadillo, pineapple, banjo tenor and baritone. This Ukulele is a soprano version that has a basswood body and nylon strings. As a musician my wife said that that this is quality constructed instrument. It's not top of the line mind you but it's a good solid instrument perfect for starting out and beyond. Other features of the instrument include a black neck fingerboard with sturdy brass frets (a total of 12 altogether). The frets are marked at the 5th, 7th & 10th levels. The tuners are chrome plated metal with plastic buttons and look like that of a guitar. They are just as sturdy as the rest of the instrument. This set comes with a pink holding bag, a shoulder strap that can be taken on and off, 2 picks, extra white nylon string in case a string needs to be replaced, an orange polishing cloth to keep the instrument shining and a digital tuner. They even included the battery for the tuner. The instrument is remarkably lightweight. This in combination with the nylon strings makes this instrument a good choice for children who are learning. Aside from the features there is another huge consideration that speaks of what a nice instrument this is. It's a soprano ukulele. It has the highest pitch of all of the ukulele's. It has a clear and joyful sound but has limited resonance and amplification. This is the kind of instrument that you would use in small entertainment venues and/or for personal enjoyment in the home. A few things to keep in mind in regards to this instrument. The strings need to be tightened when it arrives. You do this by turning the 4 white knobs towards you. Turning them away from you loosens the strings. Unless you have an excellent ear you WILL need to use the digital tuner. Figuring that out can be a bit of a challenge if you have never done it before so I suggest that you consult a musical store for a one on one instruction or watch a you tube video. Once you do it one time it comes naturally after that. The most tuning the instrument needs is when you first get it. After that you can pick a set frequency and just do it at the designated times. There is one thing about ukulele's in general that most certainly applies to this instrument as well. Their sound quality increases with time as they age. What it sounds like when it first arrives isn't exactly what it will sound like a few weeks or months down the road. With time the sound becomes richer. My wife just received the instrument a few days ago so she's still in the initial fine tuning stage. Right now the sound quality is lovely and she stated it was easy to play. She recommends using the picks because they help protect the skin on the fingers from irritation. The only improvement that my wife could suggest was the carrying case. She felt that if the case were firmer that it would protect the instrument better from damage. This is truly a beautiful instrument. It comes in a variety of colors. My wife's is pink. The price is affordable. It would be a wonderful gift for child or adult alike. My wife specifically mentioned that this would be perfect to use in schools during music class. Usable by musicians of ALL levels. It really provides so much for such a small instrument! My wife saw Tiny Tim sing "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" while playing the ukulele as a child. This whole experience has been both fun an nostalgic for her. I was provided this product at no cost to me in exchange for an honest unbiased evaluation.

Great Deal and Low-Risk, Because E2E Is a GREAT Seller!

This is a great set for the price...the ukulele is a very decent one for the price and the tuner works great! Getting a case, extra strings, and a strap was a nice bonus, too. (The case is really only a dust cover though...you'll need to either add padding to it or get another case if you're looking for protection from bumps, etc.) Once the uke went through it's initial "settling in" process (a few days, at most, when it needed frequent re-tuning...the first day, you just have to sit there and keep re-tuning it over and over again), it actually stayed in tune very well....from one day to the next, it kept pretty much in tune, or needed just a slight adjustment on a couple of strings. It seems reasonably well constructed and assembled, although the first one I got did have a defective fret - one fret was lower at one end than the other frets, so it made any chord that used the bottom string on that fret buzzy. However, E2E provided GREAT customer service....I contacted them about the defect (through the Amazon seller-contact option) and they promptly sent me a replacement kit, at no charge, and with no hassles whatsoever. If you're thinking of trying the ukulele for the first time and want a low-cost way to give it a try, I highly recommend ordering this. I'm sure there are plenty of better ukuleles out there, but I doubt there are any better at this price point, especially with all these included extras!

Love it!

I have "played" 2 instruments so far and failed them both. But I was able to learn around ten chords and a few songs the day I got it. It came incredibly fast and the tuner is amazing. The tuner itself has a normal tuner and then has a guitar, bass, violin, and ukulele settings which shows which string the note should be played on. Plus it comes with batteries, so score. The ukulele itself is nice and easy to tune. I've read many reviews and they say it doesn't hold a tune for very long the first few weeks. Honestly I have been tuning it after every song and the worst its done is go from a C to a Bb. Really good quality for the price, warning the chords sound a little funky at first but my friend bought her's a few months before me and her's sound great now, so it just takes time. Totally would recommend this especially for beginners and people like me who have no clue what there doing.

Quality Product for Beginners

I bought this ukelele as a gift for my 7 year old nephew because I wanted him to learn at least 1 instrument as early as now. My first instrument was a guitar and I never had a ukelele so this is basically my first ukelele purchase and it's not even for myself. I got really excited so I expedited the shipping and it's really worth it! I checked the package and all the accessories are complete! Most of all the color - green is my nephew's favorite color and I was so happy with how it actually looked! I'm glad it's not bright green. It's more like teal green. I'm sure my nephew will definitely love it. The strings were tuned down and so I took the liberty of using the tuning device included in the package and I must say that it really was very helpful and very easy to use. I tried memorizing the basic chords and played some songs. After every 2-3 songs, the strings get out of tune. It's pretty normal since it's new that is why the tuner really comes in handy. I'm not quite comfortable with the strap but I think it will be okay for my nephew. I haven't even checked the contents of the CD nor have I used the rest of the accessories included but I can already say that I am very much happy and satisfied with my purchase. As for my nephew, I am pretty much sure that this ukelele will awaken the musical genius inside of him.

AMAZING UKULELE!!! Honestly, exceeded my expectations! I had read the reviews prior to buying it and was a little skeptical because some people said they had a difficult time tuning it and keeping it tuned, which made me believe something was wrong with the ukulele. However, there is NOTHING wrong with it and after about a week of having it and tuning/playing it everyday, it has gotten so much better at staying in tune. The electronic tuner that comes with it is amazing(but make sure that you have it set to ukulele) so use it to your advantage!! I would NOT recommend this, or any other instrument, if you do not have the time or patience to deal with tuning it/learn how to play(literally took a week people). I would 100% RECOMMEND this to anyone willing to take the time to tune(literally <2 minutes) and actually learn how to play(I recommend learning the basic cords first; cords G, Am, C, and F). It is so much fun and and you will not regret buying it!!

Amazing for a Cheap Beginner Uke

I was surprised by this ukulele. Being a cheap beginner ukulele I expected it to be commonly out of tune and not great quality. It actually stays in tune most of the time. I will play it, put it in the case overnight, and the next day it will still pretty much be in tune. The color is really nice and the quality is way better than you’d expect a beginner uke to be. The strap is weird but after I got used to it I enjoyed using it, and even though I just use a tuner on my phone, the tuner it comes with works well. I don’t use the stickers but they seem helpful and I’m glad it comes with extra strings, even though I haven’t had to use them yet. The case is really simple but helpful and nice quality. Just be reminded that it comes very out of tune. You have to tighten the strings a lot before it sounds nice, but after that the tuning is great. Favorite instrument I have.

We LOVE this!

I have been looking for something fun to do with my children and husband. We were going over some options and thought of getting a Ukulele because it was different and small enough for my kids to try it out. When I found this Start pack I was just thrilled. It was cost friendly for us and offered so much that we could not pass it up. I was actually worried it would be a poor product because of the price! I was thrilled when it arrived. Being Amazon Prime was an added bonus. I ordered the brown and that was what we got. Extra strings, polishing cloth, the picks and the tuner were all great. I was really happy with how well the tuner worked too. It lights up when you are perfectly tuned. It came with a battery too so you could start tuning and playing right away. This ukulele is lightweight but built very well. I feel like this was a great buy and I will consider another one for my other daughter so they stop fighting over it. Next time I might get a different color, which makes this product even more fun. I might even consider this as a gift for another child or family.
