Works but get the latest firmware from Yi

HINT: Contact Yi for the latest firmware update if you're using a Yi 4K camera (1.7.x). The remote will not pair without that update. I went through two cameras and two selfie sticks until I contacted support. Apart from that the stick is nice in the hand and the remote works well. The five stars is mostly for Yi's support. They replied to my email within 3 hours which was great!

Great remote with the correct Yi firmware.

Good quality build. BT remote works with firmware v1.3.11 for the Yi 4K+. Very happy with the quick set ball head. A little heavy, not too bad, but you need this for durability.

A quality, easy to use and well functioning camera stick.

This is a great selfie stick for the Yi 4k+ and the Yi 3 axis gimbal. The bluetooth remote can be paired with the 4k+ after the 1.2.8 firmware update to the camera which pairs and works perfectly. It has 3 stages that extend to 20" total in length with a twist of each stage to lock and unlock. The remote sits in a secure cage and the remote is removable as is the wrist strap on the bottom of the handle. It is mostly metal, with some plastic and rubber. Black with white highlights. The 1/4" mounting screw rotates and has a 90 degree tilt that can be locked in place. Has a good weight but not heavy and is very comfortable in hand. Great to use in mobile action filming situations. I feel it is a great buy and a quality camera stick.

Does not pair with Yi 4k plus

Just bought Yi 4k plus action camera last minute for upcoming trip. I did not want to chance a cheaper third party accessory that was not compatible with camera so I decided to "play it safe" and pay a bit more to get this. Unfortunately this does not pair with the Yi 4k +. The user manual instructions are specific to earlier versions of the Yi camera, however from reviews I read it seemed to still work with newer models. I updated the firmware as recommended on their website and still it will not pair with my camera. I've even reset the bluetooth setting and still nothing. At this point I think I am stuck using the app on my iphone which stinks as some of my hiking will be a bit more rugged and I would much prefer the simplicity of the remote. Will see if I can get a response with regards to a fix otherwise I will be sending it back in. Update: 7/23/17 - Changed review to 5 stars. Firmware update was given to me by customer service, now it pairs well with Yi 4k +, per communication with them this update will be added into the newest firmware update. Had a chance to use this on the last day of my trip and was very pleased with how it worked paired with great video from the actual camera.

Awesome selfie stick and bluetooth remote

Awesome selfie stick and bluetooth remote. Work exactly as described, and fit great with the gimbal. Bluetooth button is super easy to use even with thick snow gloves on.
