I'm glad I took a chance on this pan despite some of the negative reviews. Yes, the surface rougher than all of my other cast iron pans. In fact, I don't recommend using a paper towel to rub oil on it as this left little paper shreds. But it's the perfect size and worked great. My OH was very dubious about this and didn't understand why we couldn't just get take out pizza, but after seeing and tasting it, he was a convert. I like making my own pizza so I can control the ingredients. And thanks to the

Heavy, durable, well seasoned. A bit hard to handle because of the weight; takes both hands and a little strength. I've had it slip from my fingers once when I had it coated with olive oil making foccata bread; made a mess. I use it for home-made pizza, frozen pizza, and it's an excellent base for baking breads and buns. I use it as an oven stone, it helps even out temps in my crappy oven, preventing bottom burning in thin pans.

Amazing pizza pan for the price! I've been using the 10" for a while with great results and decided to give this size a try. Turned out perfect. My only issue is the texture is a bit rough so it makes it a little harder to clean.

I love this pan. Use it mostly for making pizza and bread but also on the cooktop for making bacon and other fried foods. The most important thing to do with new cast iron pans is to cure them by oiling generously and bringing it to a high heat. You may need to do this periodically but not always. And leave the pan in the oven while you’re preheating, so it’s hot when you make your pizza or bread. I don’t add oil and never have a problem with sticking. The crust is exceptional when using this pan.

My kids got this for Christmas. As the one who makes Pizza in the house I have to say that this was far better than my pizza stone. The main reason being the pizza was not too doughy and it had a crisp bottom and was not soggy the next day like pizzas I make on the stone. I would say yes to anyone who wanted to get this!!!

I LOVE this pizza pan! I'm a huge fan of cast iron and have many pans! I can't believe it took me so long to get this! Pizza's cook very evenly! The inner crust is just as crispy as the outer edges! No more soggy pizza! BE AWARE - this pan cooks your pizza faster then you would expect! If you are using it on a boxed pizza it will NOT need to cook as long as the directions say! We've had fully cooked pizzas out of a box in as little as 10 minutes so KEEP AN EYE on your pizza until you get use to the pan! Best part is the pizza never sticks to the pan!! It just slides right off when it's done!

I bought this for cooking Papa Murphy's pizza. You know, the ones that come on their own little cardboard baking sheet? The crusts didn't seem to be done when the tops were already verging on too done, so I ordered this clever pan to see if I could have better luck. It does a wonderful job .. and you can use it for many other things. For instance, oven-roasting veggies, warming breads or biscuits, cooking pancakes on top of the stove and it makes a fantastic tray, as well.

This is a perfect gift for people, I have bought two so far and they love them. Whenever I need to buy a wedding gift I get this one. It is super convenient, multipurpose, and is cast iron, so its not going anywhere anytime soon. And it seems like a pan that could be used for fitness or as a weapon depending on what the user needs. Because it is HEAVY, so also take that into consideration when trying to get a bag. Because that won't work, be prepared to put it in a box and try to wrap that thing.

Cast iron doesn't actually fare well with heat distribution. Where it excels is heat retention. Get one screaming hot, toss on that steak and get a nice char. If the cookware doesn't retain heat well, your char, that delicious caramelized crust (millard reaction) would be subpar. Also doubles as a a heat deflector for my kamado and an adhoc girdle for my stove.

I use this pizza pan for baking all types of biscuits and artisan-style breads as well as pizza. it also works great on the grill or stove top for pancakes, eggs, etc. very versatile. like all other cast iron, must be cleaned carefully so as not to lose the seasoning.
