Beautifully designed container for making your own salad dressings. I've been a bottled dressing buyer all my life cuz I hate the mess of making my own. This carafe (I bought the small one) ends the mess. I love the darned thing! I guess I can't help but admire a perfect design. You'll never regret buying this item.

It's great! You can shake your dressing to mix ingredients to your heart's content and it won't leak down the sides. The measurement marks are handy, the top really closes the shaker, and I love the color. I debated this because why isn't an old mustard jar just fine, but the no leak features of this have made me a believer.

I think I want to marry this tiny container. I rarely write reviews, but every time we have salad with dinner, I look admiringly at my little dressing shaker and think that I need to tell everyone how perfect this is. It fits in my short pantry cabinets when not in use, and in the door of the fridge when dressing is in it. The markings in the side allow me to make the dressing right in it. Dishwasher safe. The spout is truly no mess and allows me to control the flow! This is great for rhise who like their salads dressing sparingly. Tip: if your dressing solidifies in the fridge like mine does, stick the whole container in a wide cup full of hot tap water. After a few minutes, the solidified oil will melt and you'll be able to shake your dressing to perfection.

We've made our own vinaigrettes for years -- it saves money, you get better taste and you can avoid added sugars and poor quality oils. This is probably the greatest device ever made for people making their own dressings. You just add ingredients, shake, pour and store. When the dressing is used, up, just drop it in the dishwasher and it gets clean.li We've had the larger size for probably 5 years, but the small size (here) is great too. Bought these for our daughters this year. The design is typical Oxo brilliance. The measurement lines on the outside are great, the screw-seal and top seal work great, and the spout pours precisely with no drips. When you use something for 5 years and there is absolutely nothing annoying about it, that's great design.

Shaken, not stirred

I have four of these OXO salad dressing shakers! That alone says a lot about their quality, performance and durability. I mostly use them for salad dressings, as I prefer to make my own and these are wonderful for mixing and shaking, as well as storing. Actually, they are good for almost any liquid mixing function. The shaker is easy to clean and does not retain odors. So far, drops from counter heights have not resulted in any damage. The marked measurements facilitate exact portioning of ingredients. The shape is comfortable to hold and seems not to "slip" from one's hands.

If I'm purchasing a kitchen gadget and don't know too much about the brands I ALWAYS purchase OXO. They are the best at what they do and they do it for a reasonable price point. This salad dressing shaker is simple yet well designed. It is clear so you can see what your dressing looks like as you go along. There are gradient markers in cup, milliliter and ounce markings. The portion of the jar that you'd grasp has a non-slip grip so it's safe in your hand. The mouth is large which makes adding ingredients easy. The closure is snug and open/closes with a flick of a finger. This dressing jar can be put in the fridge after use so it's both a cruet plus a storage jar.The material is dishwasher safe.

Favorite salad dressing storage option!

I love these shakers for homemade salad dressings! I had one and loved it so much that I ordered a second. The tops are truly spill proof (we picnic with ours and take it to the cottage often) and are even easy enough for children to open and close. The measurement markings on the side are really helpful and eliminate the need to take out additional measuring cups. Three cheers for fewer dishes! And, to top it off, it's even dishwasher safe!
