Marbles for foot therapy

After busting up my achilles tendon, recovering from surgery was a pain. One of the exercises I was told to do was to pick up marbles from the floor with my toes and put them back into a glass jar. It's actually a pain to find marbles locally when walking is a pain, so... I ordered this set to have them delivered. The colors are a great variety -- I didn't have any repeated colors, and they all look pretty cool. Some had texture, and may not be as useful for projects or games, but I didn't mind slight imperfections. I used these for weeks in recovering from surgery while watching TV... thankfully, being glass they wont smell like my toes after cleaning them -- and they are a good regiment to add to exercise those muscles now when outside of therapy... you just don't pick up things with your toes that often, you know? Good project, good purchase, completely satisfied.

I decided I wanted to give my new nephew a new marble every year, as a collectable. I love having made a tradition, and these worked perfect for that! Such a good price compared to other "collectable" marbles.

Works really well for rewards system

I have a 3 year old that sometimes needs a little motivation. I didn't want to use stickers (since they get everywhere) or candy (cavities) so I read in an article where the dad used marbles as a transaction tool. My son earns marbles for helping me fix dinner, for brushing his teeth, for doing well on the potty and can trade in for rewards. These are beautiful glass marbles that are well made and unique. My son loves to pick out the marble he's earned and talks about the different colors. I like that the size is good for him to grip and too large for him to really choke on. Also great as a counting tool since he needs 5 to trade in.

Great Prop for Foot Exercises (Really!)

I got these to use for foot strengthening exercises - specifically for plantar fasciitis. At the beginning it was really painful, almost impossible, for me to curl my big toe around a marble to lift it from one bucket to another. But after daily exercises with increasing repetitions, it is no longer painful.... and my foot is feeling so much better, too! I have been doing a whole series of exercises, but these toes-curled-around-marble ones have demonstrated actual progress in foot strength over some weeks. I cannot (yet) do this exercise with regular-size marbles, so this large shooter-size has been a big help. Incidentally, the collection is quite pretty, too...
