Quite pleased after 7 months
(Olee 10" Queen) Waited until I've had this for 7 months before reviewing. I was replacing a $600 14" Serta that was about 10yrs old and which was noticeably causing me shoulder pain and poor sleep, and was never the mattress I expected it to be. I was reluctant to buy a foam mattress, because of the stiffness of ones I'd felt in the past and concerns about it being hot in the summer. I was doubly reluctant about buying a mattress that came compressed in a box. However, I also knew I did not want to repeat the previous expensive mistake. The reviews on this mattress helped me to take the plunge. I am quite pleased to say that after 7 months I am very happy with this mattress. I am a side sleeper and one shoulder has some nagging issues from an injury - this mattress has been very comfortable, and I sleep quite well on it. I followed the instructions and opened the box in another room to allow it to rise for 24 hrs. I expected some outgassing but I could detect no odor (and I consider myself fairly sensitive to odors). I need to phrase this right - it feels like an old, worn comfortable mattress, in a good way. That is, there was no break-in period, no adjustment period, etc.; it feels like my body has always belonged on it. Yet, it is not misshapen or lumpy or saggy or anything like that. Also, I have cats, therefore by their logic they get most of the bed and I seem to end up laying on the edge of the bed. Even so, there is no sagging or deforming of the edge from this. All in all, price + comfort + performance = would buy again and would highly recommend to others.

Who needs a thousand dollar matr
My husband and I have been sleeping on the same crappy mattress for 7 years. He has a bad back and I have recently been having hip pain. We have been putting off buying a new mattress because who wants to spend a couple thousand on a really good mattress? I finally got fed up with not sleeping well and waking up in pain. I thought let me just get another foam topper. I researched and read reviews on hundreds of mattresses and toppers. So I broke down and purchased the Olee Sleep 10 inch Gel mattress. When we got it we cut it out of is plastic and watched it rise. I have to say this is an amazing mattress and I am so happy I got it. Not only do I no longer wake up in pain but the bed does not transfer movement. So I never feel when he gets up or when he switches sleep positions. I must mention we are larger framed people and this mattress has not lost its shape or firmness.

Some bomb sleep happens in my place now....just get it if your reading this and trying to figure out if this is the right one. I did the same thing for days and it was days to long spent not sleeping in this mofo.

GREAT bed!
I just moved into my own apartment and needed an inexpensive bed that would be easy enough to handle. I didn't expect much out of a 240 dollar mattress off of amazon but I have been pleasantly surprised. The bed inflated almost instantly and I've had some of the best sleep of my life on it so far. I have the bed on top of my old mattress which is on top of a bed frame. It's quite high off of the ground, this mattress would without a doubt be fine without a box spring - and it would be comfortable enough on the floor by itself if you're waiting to get a frame. Firmness: Not as firm as some memory foam beds I've slept on but you don't sink completely in either. I feel like the firmness would please just about anybody; it's not so soft that you are completely absorbed into the bed but cushy enough to be comfortable. Material: Seems to stay pretty cool. It's summer right now and I'm not waking up in sweat like I used to. Odor: Has a unique odor to it at first, goes away quickly. I never mind the strange odors too much because you have to keep in mind your item came from a factory or a warehouse somewhere. I'll be recommending this to everybody who needs a bed.

Just get it!
If you are like me, you are looking at this mattress (as well as several others) trying to find the best deal for the money. This is my third memory foam mattress. My first was 12 inches and was a pricier mattress. I loved it, and my ex still uses it 6 or 7 years later. My next one was an Olee 8 inch. It was ok, but really too firm for my taste. I replaced it with this one and I must say it is the most comfortable one I have ever laid on. It feels as good as or even better than the really expensive ones in furniture stores. It gives you a nice plush top and firm support underneath. Honestly, it is the perfect balance of softness with support. I tend to have back problems, but not with this bed. I can actually sleep all night again!

Great mattress!
UPDATE: Two years later... And I am still loving it! It has held up well across several moves, and with the added weight of my boyfriend and our dog. In fact, we're about to purchase a second one of the same brand (but in a larger size -- the dog takes up a lot of room!) and move this one to the guest room because it is still in excellent shape. We did add a foam topper at some point, but that was mostly because my boyfriend happened to have one laying around. Even without the topper, however, it is a good mattress. ORIGINAL: I'm a broke graduate student with back pain and migraines who has been sleeping on an air mattress for the last eight months, and I read tons of reviews when trying to choose a relatively inexpensive mattress that could be delivered to my apartment. I was really worried I would choose one that I would regret, but while I have only had this mattress one night so far, I can already tell you that I am so happy with my choice. First, it arrived a day earlier than expected. Yay! It was also neatly packaged and, despite the box being a bit awkward because of how tall it was (I am very short), I didn't really have any issues moving it inside and to my bedroom. From there, it was a easy as unrolling it, positioning it zipper-side down, and removing the plastic to let it expand. It filled out quickly (around nine inches in less than 5 minutes) and was ready for use. I did notice that it had a bit of a chemical smell, from being wrapped so tightly, but it didn't prevent me from sleeping and I didn't notice it all this morning. It was also fully expanded this morning, despite the warning that it could take up to 48 hours to do so. As far as the firmness of this mattress goes, it is a little bit softer than I expected (a lot of the reviews I looked at for similar mattresses warned that the foam ones could be rather firm), but I (a side and belly sleeper) slept really well and felt really supported, even with the mattress on the ground, with no bed frame. It is less firm than a full air mattress, but more so than a pillow-top, I think.

Get this bed. What are you waiting for? Quality, affordability and comfort
EDIT: 20 month post purchase update (original review below)- So far so good. I felt like this mattress has a little more “give” where I sleep. I’m not the kind of person who sleeps all over the bed. I sleep in one spot. So, when I moved to my new home, I turned it around and it has solved the problem. The area where I slept before shows no signs of the “give.” I sleep alone, so I don’t know how it affects couples. I’m 5’3”, 165lbs (160cm, 75Kg). I do recommend a mattress protector only because of the porous fabric. I learned this on the night of the pukies from my three-year-old daughter. In other news, I recommended this mattress to a friend and she bought it. She sleeps more soundly than she did on her innerspring mattress. I have added the photos from when we unzipped and let the mattress decompress. SHE LOVES IT. She says she read the conflicting reviews, but decided it was worth it because I wouldn’t shut up about it. If she only gets a few years out of it, she still thinks it’s a worthwhile investment because her sleep is so much better and her aches and pains are about gone. Her FitBit has shown a much better sleep pattern. Almost two years later and I’m still in love with this mattress and the frame I bought to go with it. I waited to write this review after having this mattress for about six months. I like to have a product a while before writing a review. When this bed arrives, it comes in a box that is about 18"x 18"x 48". That's an estimated size by memory. You pull the bed out and lay it out. It comes compressed and folded in half. Then, check for the zipper on the bed. Make sure that is on the bottom and open the plastic. The bed begins to decompress. Let it decompress for 24-48 hours. I let it decompress for 48 hours because I was moving into a new apartment and I had the time to do it. I put it on theHome Life Cloth Light Beige Cream Linen 51" Tall Headboard Platform Bed with Slats Queen - Complete Bed 5 Year Warranty Included 008 Home Life Cloth Light Beige Cream Linen 51" Tall Headboard Platform Bed with Slats Queen Bed and it looks amazing. Pros: Comfort! It does NOT sleep hot. I don't feel myself tossing and turning at night. I lay there, and I sink in, but not too much. It doesn't take too much effort to move like some lower density mattresses. Sheets do not slip off and they hold really well, so that's a big plus. The soft fabric covering the mattress holds sheets well and the stitched in pattern does not bleed through on white sheets. When I sit on the edge to play my guitar, it's the perfect height and my back feels great- better than any chair. Cons: I see a lot of reviews about the smell. I have a hyper sense of smell. The chemical smell dissipated in a few hours. I did not detect it at all after about six hours. Get the plastic the mattress came in out of your house if you don't want the smell lingering. The mattress is heavy, but that just indicates the quality of the product. Besides, all mattresses are heavy unless they are full of air. When it's cold, the bed becomes harder. When its hot, the bed is softer. Keep that in mind when adjusting the temp of the room. And when I say cold, I'm talking 35 degrees F. I left the heat off when I went out of town and the bed was denser than usual when I got back. I warmed up the room and it went quickly back to normal. On hot nights it is softer. I doubt you're sleeping in freezing temps, so this isn't a big deal. All in all, this thing is a great buy. I'm glad that Amazon has made it as a recommended product. It's comfortable and priced well. The queen sized one works well with a slat bed and after six months has continued to provide a restful night sleep. I'll try to remember to give it another review at the one year mark.

Good for two heavy people
I was truly hesitant about ordering this, I'm really picky about what I sleep on, and I'm old and cranky and in pain a lot, and heavy enough that it can be a problem on a bad mattress. I needed a new mattress, not another torture rack, figured I could stand the price if it didn't work out. I absolutely love it so far, basically comfortable, don't get up in too much pain ( and it seems to go away quicker), doesn't get hot at night since we don't sleep with AC. I was afraid there might be a bad smell since some people complained about it, but nothing noticeable or that gave me a rash, but I do use a mattress pad over it (I would have washed the cover if necessary like someone else did). Frankly, for a cheapie, relatively, mattress from mail order, I'm impressed. It's as good as the thousand dollar mattress I gave up when I moved, and far, far better than the one I've used for seven years. No mattress humping up in the middle and rolling us off the edge anymore, it's easy to lay down on and we don't wake each other up when one of us gets up at night. I hope it lasts for awhile, but would have to seriously consider getting another if it didn't.

Super comfortable
I weigh 270lbs, so I was worried about the bed not being supportive. I've had the best sleep of my life on this bed.

Perfect
This mattress is perfect. I ordered a Queen size. All my life I've slept on spring/coil mattresses and have grown to really hate them as I age because the springs cause more pain than they do anything else. When I saw this mattress and it's affordable price (budget friendly) I wanted to give it a try and get away from the 21-year-old spring mattress that I have been sleeping on. This mattress is packaged in a large, heavy box and wrapped in plastic. It unrolls after you pull the plastic off and then unfolds. Once I had all the plastic off of the mattress it started to fluff up and was the full 10" within 3 hours. I was able to sleep on it the same night it arrived. There is a slight "new" smell that has been on every memory foam mattress topper I've bought, so this, of course, will go away in a few days and isn't too strong or overwhelming. Actually, this mattress is pretty light compared to the old spring mattress I have and found it to not be a problem putting it on the frame by myself. I do want to note this mattress is firm but not painful firm like a spring mattress that causes so much pain from coils that poke into your joints and body as you sleep. This mattress is firm at first but once you settle in the foam contours to your body and makes it very comfortable to sleep. Generally, I have trouble sleeping on anything firm, like my old mattress, even at 21 years of use, it is so firm that it feels the same as day 1 (painful and like sleeping on a slab of concrete). I have 2 back injuries and laying down on my back or stomach is very painful. Mostly I am a side sleeper but even then on a spring mattress, I wake up several times a night from either my shoulders and hips hurting so badly that I can barely roll over to the other side without feeling like my bones are shattering, but my arm falls asleep. It is hard for me to get comfortable on my old mattress and I wake up in more pain than I went to sleep in. WIth this mattress, I can lay down and quickly settle, even on my back without waking up in severe pain or with my arm falling asleep. In fact, I can sleep a whole night comfortably and wake up without pain. I'm amazed by that and know now that it is the mattress that caused so much pain all these years to my already painful bones. On all the mattress toppers I've had before, and there have been many, they all slept hot. I'd wake up even in winter sweating and with this mattress, I don't wake up sweating. It actually feels cool and comfortable. I really can't say enough good things about this mattress. It is light to move around and even on a platform bed frame, I can't feel the metal underneath. It feels like I am sleeping on a cloud. My bones don't ache anymore from sleeping and I am not waking up multiple times a night in pain. And I don't really like firm mattresses anymore, not after my old nightmare mattress that felt like sleeping on concrete. But this one is much different from being on a spring mattress and is also firm but very comfortable. Pros: Light to move around Thick enough not to feel the metal bed frame on a platform frame Firm but not something you sink into or are uncomfortable on. Contours to the body and feels like sleeping on a marshmallow. Same thickness as a traditional spring mattress, 10" of softness and no springs Good quality Sleeps cool, not hot Has a zippered cover that is plush and soft 2 people can sleep on this mattress and not feel each other move or get up Did I mention it feels like sleeping on a marshmallow? Cons: 0 If you haven't tried this mattress yet and are in the market for a budget-friendly (could even sleep with it on the floor if you don't have a frame and be comfortable), firm yet very cozy, good quality mattress, this is the one. I am happy to have found this mattress and would recommend it to everyone looking for an upgrade from spring mattresses. I'll never go back to another spring mattress again. Not even my son (almost 3 years old) sleeps on a spring mattress. My son sleeps on a much smaller version of this mattress, of a different brand (Graco crib mattress) but still feels the same firmness (comfortable as well) and he sleeps the night through.
