Fool proof rice with no waste
My girlfriend is incapable of making less than a full pot of rice (literally a gallon of cooked rice). I can't stand wasting food, so I picked this up on a whim. It's quickly become a staple in our kitchen. I use it for white rice and enchiladas mostly. It's easy to set it up and forget: Just scoop some rice, fill with water to the line, and press "cook". It gives you about 20 minutes to saute something and you've got a well-rounded meal, super easy. Protip: You can stir in a pack of Sazon before cooking and you'll have effortless spanish rice. The three cup model makes enough for two sides or one entree, so if you have a large appetite or more than two people, it would be wise to get the 6 cup model. It's usually a little cheaper too. Edit: this is now at work and I cook oatmeal in it every day. To cook 5 min oatmeal: boil water in rice cooker, add rice, then stir occasionally. Allow to cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Overcooking will cause oatmeal to stick but cleans out easily after soaking.

I love this small rice cooker
I love this small rice cooker. I've used it only for brown rice. You can cook 3 cups of dry brown rice and get 6 cooked cups (the measuring cup is smaller than the normal cup, I think it's around 75% size of the real cup, so you need to be mindful of that). I'm living alone so this is perfect for my use. The instructions are also very clear and easy to go through.

A SUPER GREAT RICE COOKER!
This is the most perfect little appliance. I've cooked quinoa, barley & rice in it. It works very well. Reading the reviews before I bought it, I covered the steam hole with a lightweight cotton towel, to prevent a mess. No mess! Perfect for one person. Since it's so small, it doesn't take up much room, which is another plus. In a short time, you have a perfectly cooked grain! I cook the maximum amount & it lasts me for four meals. Love this thing!

BEST THING EVER!
Makes cooking rice so much easier. Makes my nightly dinner prep so much easier and saves me so much time! Be sure to read the manual for tips on making rice just the way you like it and to make sure different kinds of rice are cooked slightly different. Jasmine rice comes out killer in this! doesn't take up a lot of counter space either! Easy clean up or quickly to put in fridge in plenty for leftovers. Easy to scrap out left overs if make correctly. I wanted one of these for a long time and I got this for such a great price! Improves my everyday life greatly!

More than a rice cooker !
I keep one of these at work. I use it to make oatmeal, it's great ! Add 2 cups Old Fashioned Quaker Oats, 4 cups water. I like to add chopped up granny smith apple, cinnamon and raisins,, some times a cup of apple sauce. Then just push down on the "cook" button ! It takes at the most 20 minutes, and comes out PERFECT ! You know, you can use this just like an electric pan ! I've cooked scrambled eggs in it, and even a hamberger !

Perfect for morons who can't cook two ingredients. Like me.
This has to be the least expensive non stick cook ware ever available on amazon. I am one of those males who has a hard time doing anything for himself and I usually just go to the store and buy beef jerky and consider that a meal alongside my coffee but this rice cooker has changed my life I think. It's been two weeks and I've done nothing but make rice it even has a marker on it that lets you know if you're about to screw up your rice or not because it does everything for you after you fill the water to the line. I was scared at first because the instruction manual is as thick as a novel but sadly it is the same directions repeated 36 times in 12 languages for what I assume is the purpose to prevent idiots from melting the plastic dish that comes with the cooker. It doesn't actually tell you what the dish is for it just says to remove it before you heat anything. It can't be used a strainer because the holes are too big and you can't put dry rice on it because it'll stick to the plastic. There's a really wide spoon it comes with too and I'm just guessing that's for shoveling it into my mouth which I've been doing regularly. It works like a toaster so you can't screw it up even if you tried, and you can even leave it on for six days or until your roommates discover you've left it on again while you were asleep. Don't touch the little metal ring on the inside while it's plugged in. The instruction manual actually says not to do this but I tried it anyway and now and missing a layer skin on the index finger of my right hand so you've been warned.

Great gadget, one of my most-used kitchen tools.
I didn't have a rice cooker for a while after my old one died, and rice kind of went out of my diet for a bit. But I love rice, and I love steamed veggies, and I'm SO glad I bought this little guy because he's helping me eat well again! This rice cooker is perfect for two - you can do two servings of rice and two servings of a vegetable to steam. It's so fast, always cooks just right, and after about 5 dinners it pretty much pays for itself when compared to buying the ready-rice or steamed veggie microwave products. Yes indeed, I got this one because it was the cheapest, but Black & Decker is solid and it works great so I'm very pleased.

Who needs a microwave when you've got this?
I bought this originally because I love brown rice, but brown rice reheated in a microwave is disgusting. This allows me to make a single serving of brown rice fresh in the office break room, but it goes WAY beyond that. When the rice is done, I can use this to heat up a meat sauce or whatever I'm eating with the rice (sometimes I add to the rice and stir; usually, though, I take the rice out and heat the meat sauce alone). Turns out this thing cooks eggs too, which is GREAT when I'm too lazy to bring a meat sauce to work. It makes scrambled eggs nice and fluffy - you need to turn them maybe once, and the other day I discovered it makes a great fried egg, sunny side up. This is the second one of these I've bought - the first lasted seven years, which greatly exceeded my expectations. The only downside with the new version is it seems to spatter more than the old one, which gets the outside of the cooker (and everything near it) a bit dirty. It's a small price to pay, though, for an amazingly useful device.

Small, but effective.
I’m not sure I realized how small this rice cooker was, but still, it makes the perfect amount of rice. I made yellow rice from scratch with it the first day i got it and it came out perfectly cooked!! Plus it smelled frigging AMAZEBALLS the entire time it processed. Definitely a great buy. Shipping was prompt as well and I look forward to cooking other things as stated in the manual.

This is a great little rice cooker for making small portions
This is a great little rice cooker for making small portions. My first batch of rice came out too wet and the steam vent overflowed so on my second batch I added less water than recommended and the rice came out perfect.
