Performed an engine oil change on a new to me 2016 Toyota 4Runner Limited. The 4Runner holds approximately 6.6 quarts of engine oil and the container had plenty of room to spare after draining the oil. I didn't realize this when I purchased this container, but there is a protrusion on the container where you can place the oil draining screw cap on so that it doesn't slide all over the place while the oil is draining into the container. Little detail that I appreciated. After the engine oil was done draining, I screwed the drain cap on and stored it upright to test the seal. No oil seeped out. I then took the container to the auto parts store to recycle the oil where I unscrewed the top, opened the vent cap, and poured it into the recycling container. Highly recommend this container.

Just prefect it holds 3 oil changes worth of oil. So i got two that way i only have to drop off used oil every year or two. Perfectly designed u no longer need a oil catch pan it does that as well. Just take some paper towels and wipe up and use a bit of cleaner to finish cleaning. Only complaint is like most of these containers u cant crank it tight it will pop loose so u have to kinda torque it down just right l. Also when u store it upright thr caps are in great locations as even if nearly full it is under both caps so leaks are not a big issue as i had with walmart bought ones. Best selling point is how much it holds for like $10

I do all the oil changes on my cars and this container works great. It's large enough that once I position the container under the car, I don't have to worry about moving it around to keep up with the stream of oil as it's draining. The flat surface on top has a place to put the oil filter for draining, and it means I can drop the drain bolt or washer and not worry about trying to finish it back out from a pool of used oil. It's 16 qts so it can handle a couple of oil changes before I have to drop the oil off for recycling. The handle makes it easy to carry, and the cap seals so that oil doesn't leak out onto my garage floor. The only downside is when it arrived, there were plastic shavings inside that made noise when I shook the container around. All I had to do was open the cap and shake the plastic shavings out. I have not had an issue since.

For only $10 its a good deal for the DIY Clearly this inst for the professional mechanic, but for the weekend warrior this is absolutely incredible. I was hesitant at first to buy this product because of all the complaints about leaks, but I bought it anyway. I made this product leak proof by using Plumbers Threading Tape on both of the screw on cap openings, which kept everything leak proof after I tested with water. As for the complaints about cleaning up the side of the container after pouring fluids I simply used tin foil to cover up that one side to pour the oil. Cleanup is as easy as pulling up the tin foil carefully and doing the same thing for the next oil change. Overall if you use plumbers threading tape this container makes changing fluids on your car extremely easy.

This container is by far the best oil drain catch basin I've ever had. It's extremely sturdy and well built. It can be stored horizontally or vertically without fear of leaks. I just couldn't believe how much better it is than the old round kind I bought from Walmart. That thing could only be stored horizontally, had a leaky neck with a cheap cap, and would bend when I lifted it! This container was cheaper and 200% better made. Couldn't be happier.

Purchased to do my pre winter oil changes on all my vehicles. This is pretty nice and was plenty large enough for the 4 vehicles. Suggestions I would make to the manufacturer. The breather hole, slightly seeps at times (I stored in the back of my truck upright for a few days before I could make it to disposal location). The main inlet hole, slightly seeps at times. (same as above) The main outlet drain hole, seems to be good to go. Should keep the indented section for oil draining, smooth and without the guides. It makes it very hard to clean up if ever needing to store upright (to prevent old oil from spilling down and onto the ground) I am not sure if maybe I got a bad one with seeping seals but either way... It is just a drain container and it works as such. I would purchase again.

I drilled a couple of extra holes in the drain area so oil would enter the sump faster... I did this BEFORE I used it so it MAY be fine the way it is... My engine takes 7 quarts and didn't want to take any chances on over flow... I REALLY LIKE THIS PRODUCT !!! Been wrenching my, own cars, bike and boats for 50 years ! I wouldn't steer you wrong ;)

I save RO waste water into these and pour the water on the yard... they have lasted a long time. I did find that after years of hard use a leak started near the front on the bottom where I've always scraped it a bit on the concrete... I'm more careful about sliding it in concrete now!! But they did put up with that abuse for many years

Recommended for the home DIY'er. Used it for oil changes and coolant flush jobs with no problems. One of the biggest complaints was leakage, but it wasn't a problem with mine. I tested it with water by filling it to the max and tipped it every which way--no leaks or dripping at all. Make sure your container has a rubber washer as it'll make a big difference in it's ability to hold everything in. The container itself seems like sturdy thick plastic so storing liquids in it over time would be fine, but I usually pour mine out into used containers after each job. Makes proper disposal easier.

I bought these for a recent ATF and engine oil change. I must say it did a pretty good job of keeping the ground clean. Drains the oil into the container very well. The last drain pan I used made a mess. The only tricky thing with this is making sure you keep it directly under the oil filter when taking off, made a little splatter doing that while I changed my oil. Also very easy to pour dirty oil into smaller containers afterwards, don't forget to use a funnel. Great product for $10.
