Perfect for a long road trip!

Oh man were these the perfect purchase for our 350 mile road trip this summer! I read all the reviews and focused mostly on the negatives as I wanted something that wouldn't skip and last for more than one use. We have only used the set on the one trip but that was still easily 8 straight hours of playing on the way there and at least 5 hours on the way home. We didn't have any issues with skipping and the volume was plenty for everyone in the car to hear. The cord connecting the players is a bit obnoxious, but honestly, what can you expect, they are dual after all.

Great players, good value

These work well and keep the kids entertained on long trips. Both kids can easily see and adjust. Put the main unit in front of the 7yo, and she changes disks etc. Remote is also very handy, kids can use or I can use as passenger. Holds a charge great, as we have use outside of the car. Easy to set up. Have had a few months and have been very happy.

They were easy to install

We used these on our trip from New York to Florida and they worked perfectly. The kids were able to watch their movies with no disruptions. They were easy to install, would highly recommend. We also found it easy to remove and store away when we are not in the car.

Great!

This had mixed reviews but it's worked great for us. We had a four day road trip with a 1 and 3 year old so I got these to help pass the time. They worked perfectly. The connecting cord was long enough to have one screen installed for my rear facing 1 year old and the other for my forward facing older kiddo. The remote control was great so I didn't have to try to reach the controls on the unit.

Highly recommended

Just bought these and took a 24hr round trip vacation with them. My 2 and 6 year olds loved them! Enjoyed hooking to the cars auxiliary input for surround sound! Everything was as expected we were up and running out of the box. Can even take inside and hook to a tv if needed. Love the idea of putting movies on an SD card. The second monitor does not have as good of resolution as the first monitor but would not keep me from buying again. Love this buy, great price, highly recommended! Our car has black interior so the cables and straps blended in well. Strap could have been a little better but works, had a hard time with the instructions getting it routed through fastener correctly.

So Far So Good - still

Review is for the 10" Dual Screen DVD Player. Received these within 2 days of purchase (go Amazon!), and they worked great on our 10+ hour road trip. I was a little nervous as on the return trip, monitor #2 didn't seem to receive any power and wouldn't turn on. Shut both devices off and turned back on, worked just fine. I hope over time, they continue to work just as well. Everything was great on these - video, quality, functionality. The remote was a great asset, one of the primary reasons we went with this product over others on the market. Volume is a little low, primary dvd player only goes to 20, secondary monitor goes up to 24 which helps enhance the primary. The "mounting straps" are cheap, but adequate in a pinch, basically hangs your dvd player off the headrest supports. I was concerned they would sway too much and interfere with quality, but there was no problem. Additionally, we had no problems with skipping either. Went over plenty of road construction, road bumps, etc and not one skip. Again, hope this continues with time as well. So far so good, and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a portable/travel dvd player. Update: it's been almost 2 years that we've had these. We only use them only road trips greater than 2 hours, which are fairly infrequent. So they've been used maybe 6-10 times. They still work same as Day 1, but one of the hanging straps busted the plastic loop during tightening. The other is still intact but won't stay tight. I'm going to try supergluing Velcro to them. Otherwise, they're good units. Video quality is fine, cords (3 to make them work) are annoying but stay in place, volume depends on the movie. Some are really loud, others are hard to hear. We don't use headphones unless on a plane, but highly recommend different ones than what come with the unit, which are cheap flimsy earbuds. Once in awhile lately it's having issues with freezing and stops playing. Not sure if it is the unit going bad or the two dvds it happened with (was fine after switching an obviously scratched DVD for different one, but second one - which ultimately started to work fine, was not scratched). But, for the cost it's been well worth it for the peace and quiet it brings.

Great Seller, not so great product

Broken on arrival. Will not work. DVD makes horrible scraping sound. These things are total junk. Beware. UPDATE: Changed to 5 stars because the seller immediately rectified the problem. Highly recommend seller.

Great little gems!

I bought these DVD players for our trip across the United States. I was a bit worried when they arrived, as they just felt cheap. They are lightweight, the play/stop buttons feel toy-like, and they are plastic. The remote feels and works like any other remote. I kept them in hopes they'd at least survive the trip. These little gems surprised me to say the least! They not only survived the trip, they are still alive and kicking awaiting our next road adventure! The sound quality from the speakers is okay at best. The sound when used with headphones is as good as the headphones are. Picture and color quality is great! Ease of operation is good. Players still work when plugged into car power source, so battery life wasn't an issue for us. Bottom line - Would I recommend? Definitely! They do what they are intended to do!
