Our card would not work. Not the readers fault.
Running High Sierra. Update: The customer service spoke with me on it and we solved the problem. The computer will recognize the reader but the card we are using will not recognize on the website. Its not a military card and another government agency so the certificates are on the card. There is only a few readers known to work with the card. So it is not the products fault but the recognition of the card to the website. The reader does read the card as the mac will require a pin for a password if the card is on when you try to install something. So ther drivers are working.

works fine on MacBook
very nice. used this right away to check the footage from the micro sd card used in my dash cam. worked perfectly, no issues, on my late-2008 unibody MacBook, which is running the OS from a couple of iterations ago (sorry, can't remember which, possibly Yosemite). LED light indicator on the card reader is nice. i didn't try to force the micro sd in, just pushed gently, want sure if it was enough, but it was. looks like you have your choice of using the slots on the side or the same sized slots on the end of the reader, there are 4 total, 2 of each. the short usb cable is great for not blocking the neighboring ports. this was a good buy.

Works Perfectly with Macbook Pro
I had no trouble setting up the card reader with my Macbook Pro. I had to download the driver because I don't have a CD slot in my laptop, but the instructions that come with the card reader point you to Saicoo's website, where you can download the driver for free. Note that installing the driver requires a computer restart. I did have a little bit of trouble getting CAC-enabled websites to prompt me for certificates, but I followed the instructions on militarycac.com for Macs. You'll have to check the certificates in Keychain after they've installed and make sure that they're all listed as "Trusted". You have to manually "Trust" the ones that aren't - for me it was DoD ROOT CA 3 and DoD ROOT CA 4. After installing the certs from their site, I had to add security identities for each of my 3 CAC certs (the ones with my name on them) and I was good to go. (No clue if I did it right, but for the security identity, I added the address of the webpage I was trying to get to. Once I added that, I was able to get to all other CAC-enabled sites with zero problems.) I left it plugged in for a few hours while I worked, and didn't have any problems with overheating.

Excellent Direct Replacement
Purchased to replace a 12 year old CAC reader that was shorting out. There is NOTHING wrong with this unit. I read some posting about flimsy plastic or whatever. Give me a break - it serves the purpose. Are you dragging it up the side of a mountain or something? How well you take care of your stuff is 99% of the life expectancy. Works great and pulls certificates for logging in/signing right up. I use this daily and am having zero issues.

purchase the DigiScan USB CAC Smart Reader Desk Version (DOD Compatible)
This company stands behind their product. I'm reviewing the Saicoo DOD Military Common Access CAC. The first cac reader I ordered was defective. The company sent another cac reader (FOR FREE). I'm using Windows 10 Pro. I plugged the new CAC into a free usb port and it immediately started working. The 1st cac I ordered must have been defective. It's nice to see a company that care about its customers and products. Be careful opening the CAC reader because there is a mini-cd included with cac driver, it's easy to break the cd while opening.

Replacement Card Reader is a great value
The usb connection does not fit snugly and the card I inserted also seemed to have loose fit. Everything worked it just creates a lack of confidence in use and longevity. Update to my first review - The customer service from this seller may be the best I've experienced from any marketplace seller. I received an unsolicited replacement almost immediately. Both the usb connection and the sd card connection on the replacement were much snugger and consistent with other products in this price range. Based on my total experience - I can now recommend the product and perhaps more importantly - the seller.

Great CAC Reader but Terrible for Morale
This card reader does what it's supposed to do and while I would like to subtract stars because I have to work at home with it I cannot because it does its job extremely well and hasn't failed me yet. The construction is solid and when you get your certificates installed it works flawlessly with government and military programs and websites. If you happen to be the civilian DOD contractor or a military member who is required to use a CAC card reader I would highly recommend this model and further I would highly recommend speaking with your communications section for help troubleshooting any issues you may have. Luckily for me I plugged it in my computer recognized it immediately and downloaded the appropriate drivers and once I had updated my certificates everything ran extremely smoothly. The unit itself has a relatively long cord and seems to be constructed well it has a light to notify you when your CAC card is currently being used. I like the design better than our regular external CAC card readers. While I am sure it won't break on me in the near future because of its solid design I secretly hope that it does so I can go back to relaxing at home.

Excellent Customer Service!!! Please Read!! Important Use Instructions Enclosed.
[UPDATED REVIEW] Wow!! After writing the below one star review Saicoo contacted me to make it right. They credited me the amount of the damage SD card so I could get a replacement and sent me another unit to try out. I don't have to tell you how rare it is to find a company that will do that. They deserve your business. IMPORTANT TECHNICAL UPDATE: The card reader works fine, the problem is there are no instructions and the stencils on it are difficult to understand. That is why my micro SD card got stuck, it was oriented incorrectly. DO NOT insert a micro SD right side up (pins down) in the end port or it will get very stuck. I suggest that Saicoo change the stencil on the side to show pins on the SD card icon and change the stencil on the back to show pins on the Micro SD card icon. This would correct the confusion. Here is the correct way to insert the cards: SD Cards: Must be inserted in the side port upside down (gold pins up). Must be inserted in the end port right side up (gold pins down). Micro SD cards: Must be inserted in the side port right side up (gold pins down). Note: about half of the Micro SD sticks out. Must be inserted in the end port upside down (gold pins up) Note: it goes in very deep and only 1/8" of the Micro SD sticks out. <<<>>> Original Review: This product is flawed, poor design or bad QC. I didn't even get a chance to see if it worked. I opened the package gently inserted my new 64 GB micro SD in the end and that was it. It was stuck, as if it had been glued in and could not be removed. I was so concerned about removing it that I forgot to even plug it in and see if it worked. To make a long story short the $20 micro SD card was destroyed (along with my personal files stored on it) while trying to get it out; it broke into pieces. Afterwards, I did try the other ports. The side Micro SD port accepted the broken Micro SD without jamming, both standard SD ports (end & side) took the SD adapter without jamming, but the end port is not properly aligned with the hole and is deeper than the side one causing the card to get jammed. I will contact Amazon returns for a refund for this reader, but what can I do about the $20 Micro SD that was destroyed because of it? Saicoo should cover the damage that their product caused. <<<>>>

Just what you are looking for
Stop assuming/depending on every device having a card reader and just keep one of these handy. I cannot tell you how many times I have been disappointed that I was unable to plug my camera/MP3 recorder/mini disk into a friend's computer/laptop because they did not have the proper card reader. The worst are public computers or anyone who asks for a copy and you don't want to be hassled with getting it to them later. Ever since I purchased this, I keep it in my camera bag and have the confidence that I will be able to view/listen to my media, from any computer. I have been let down by the durability/capability of similar devices, in the past. I am pleased to say that this is not one of them. The construction is solid and every slot can read media. I have even plugged several different media in, at the same time, and it has allowed me access all of them at once.without having to worry about overloading or overheating the device.

Great Quality for an Outstanding Price!!
Works great with the SanDisc Micro card. Downloaded several hundred MP-3 music recordings in half hour or so, and played on my NizHi TT-029 MP-3 player. All sound wonderful. I can see what I have downloaded, and then erase individual songs by plugging back into my laptop. Hey, not bad for great grandad. As the kids say "easy peasy". 2 Micro slots; the Micro slot on the end goes in further than the Micro slot on the side. This is a bit tricky, as you may try to push in too far, but don't. Watched a YouTube video of a young woman who pointed this out, glad she did. Tried to share the link, but my apologies, as not "easy peasy" for me.
