- Cobalt high speed steel along with the titanium coating ensures extreme durability, will stay new and shiny for years to come.
- Different sized shanks ensure compatibility with 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in. chuck sizes.
- Non-walking drill tip provides fast and smooth drills on steel sheets, aluminum sheets, wood board, plastic board etc. (the board must be smaller in thickness than the height of step drill bits).
- Please mark the spot that you are to drill for easier drilling and improved drill bits life.
- All the bits come in a well-organized case for easy transport and storage.

Very nice set, very securely boxed
Very nice set, very securely boxed. Received today, and tried one out since I will be using the set this coming weekend. Nice clean cut, no hesitation at all. Time will tell if they hold up. Didn't see much description about the case; it is overkill nice. Looks like a Barbie doll steamer trunk; heavy-duty aluminum case reinforced at the corners with a positive latch. Dense foam inside holds the bits, and a layer of softer foam is glued into the upper lid. Closed case is ≈ 6-1/8" x 4-1/8" x 1-5/8". Nice set for not a lot of money.

Ate Right Through Aluminum Like It Was Butter.
These have worked very well for the aluminum parts I needed holes drilled into, ate through the metal like butter. I imagine it they would work very good in plastics or soft metals, don't know about harder metals like steel, but for my normal applications these work pretty well. The latch on the case was kind of flimsy, but that's fine, I wasn't really planning on using the case anyway. Overall very pleased with this purchase.

Not made for heavy use
As things go, I needed to make a 7/8 inch hole in what was previously a 3/4 inch hole in 1/4 inch steel plate. I thought the #5 bit would work just fine as it's last and largest step is 7/8. All I needed to do was hone out the hole from 3/4 to 7/8. I use a good cutting oil and got through the first 3 cuts just fine. Then on 4 it just got worse and the 5th hole I got nothing but smoke. I think these are probably good for thinner softer metals and wood but not for anything thicker. UPDATE: The Banyan company had contacted me about the issue I had. I explained it to them and they made good on it. Customer service has always been the most important aspect in buying and selling and these folks come out on top. They felt their product should have been better and stated they would check quality control to make sure their product would hold up better. That is what will make me shop for their products in the future.

Great for Acrylic / Plexiglass
After watching some reviews online on how I should be drilling plexiglass, since I was cracking it, I purchased these bits. Not only did they make the job easier, they made it child's play. Drilled over 30 holes in a single sheet of plexiglass without fail, or cracking, with barely any support. These guys come in a hard carrying box and will be my go to for acrylic or plexiglass drilling in the future.

Incredible value for some super useful bits
Been using these lightly for just about 2 years now. It’s impossible for me to say if these are truly made of cobalt, I’m no metallurgist, but they have stayed plenty sharp and hardly heat up at all with heavy use in steel. This is a crazy good value for cobalt step bits. If you’re a machinist and will use them everyday, maybe they wouldn’t hold up long term. For me I’ve been VERY happy with the purchase. The hard case, the variety of the bits. All great.

Used to drill out stripped Lug nut and Wheel Stud
grinded what remained of a customers lug nut flush to their rim, then used the largest bit to bore out the remaining wheel stud steel and softer alloy lug nut. Process took about 2 minutes with a 20v lithium power drill. The bit is pretty dull from boring the hardened steel of the wheel stud, but it did the job when basic drill bits would not.

Repeat customer
This is my second time purchasing this set. They are great quality for the price. I am an electrician and use them a lot in industrial/commercial sites. They hold up really well, even on stainless as long as you don't go full speed. I use the longer/more steps 1/2" bit the most by far and it eventually wore out. That's definitely due to the amount of stainless it has gone through. It's so much faster/easier to put a 1/2" hole in stainless with this and a 1/4" bit to start than drill bits alone.

Excellent Set
This is a really nice assortment of uni-bits. The case is fantastic. My experience with this type of bit has taught me not to rush the cut. They really bite deep and so overheating and burning up the starter tip is common if you over-pressure. Looking forward to using this set of bits and having such a great collection of sizes. Excellent price for the bundle.

Bits so good you can drill other drilling tools ... by hand
I wanted to widen the 5/16" hole in a stainless steel tap wrench to 1/2" and needed the hole to remain perpendicular to the wrenches top and bottom. I put the wrench in a drill press vise then managed to accomplish exactly what I wanted in 5 minutes using the 1/8" - 1/2" bit, ... with a hand drill! I didn't even break a sweat. Other black oxide coated HSS, titanium nitride coated HSS, spray painted Chinesium Speed Steel, etc step drill bits I've used chug along and require solid downward pressure to go anywhere, even with a power drill vs. zinc/galvanized steel. These carve shiny slivers of stainless steel continuously along all of the cutting edges as I take a sip of beer and spin the pin vise with one hand. Absurd..
