I have to first say, based on my last 2 dewalt lasers i was a bit apprehensive about buying this as the other 2 did not last long at all and had other issues. I decided to give dewalt a 3rd chance and im glad i did! We are professional woodworkers with a a high volume of work and we expect accuracy, durability and ease of use. We got all of that with this! the green laser is 10x better than the red , much easier to see especially under bright daylight conditions. The unit levels itself quickly and accurately. The fact that it has a rechargeable battery is reason enough to buy this. No more having to leave the site to buy batteries or leaving batteries in the unit too long causing them to leak.

it was a leap of faith for me to spend this much on a laser level but for me its been a game changer, its probably earned me back most of the cost in saved time and efforts, inside its unbeatable, outside in bright sun found it a challenge after 20' but is possible. i repeat that inside its so handy i grab it to even put up a shelf but constructed racking and lighting using this. case very good, i treated myself to the cheaper dewalt tripod and my life got even easier.

Wow, what a great laser level. Many years ago I was using a Ryobi red laser level. Loved it. Used it for everything from mounting TV to wall, hanging pictures & shelves, painting walls with two tones, etc. This blows the doors off that great little Ryobi with accuracy and visibility. Compared/tested against a $35 MILWAUKEE Compact Billet Torpe for accuracy... dead on! Can easily see a green line indoors 50' away. Tested at an install fast food retail space (all full length glass 3 of 4 walls), middle of bright sunny day, stainless steel surface (see pic). This unit needs ambient lighting. The laser is too bright in a dark room. Lots of mounting options: wood screw, metal magnet, drop ceiling clamp. Still I highly recommend a laser level stand w/ bubble level. You'll be happy you did as 9 out of 10 times I default to the stand. I splurged and went for the DEWALT DW0881 1/4-Inch Laser Tripod

Absolutely amazing brightness, the green laser lines just POP off drywall, it is like a light show with the cross line lasers moving across the walls and ceiling. The green laser line is extremely stable and very crisp and well defined. Works great for installing crown moulding and determining a true level plane, rather than measuring down from an uneven ceiling which usually results in poor fitting mitered corners and uneven looking crown. Using this with the FastCap third hand pole system and you can cover most of a room from a corner set up. Also works great for installing custom made Wainscoting raised panels, perfectly level, and square every time. Totally worth the extra money upfront over the red laser, just so much easier to see and it comes with a rechargeable 12v system, so no batteries to purchase. 3 year warranty is also a big plus with Dewalt compared to Bosch with only one year.

This laser is absolutely amazing. It was well thought out, and is well constructed. I also own a Dewalt DW089K laser, and the difference from the red laser to green is incomparable. The line is extremely crisp and thin even at distance, and it can be seen in a bright room without problem. Another great upgrade is that it comes with a locking pendulum, something my prior one lacked. The case is a bit larger than I expected, but allows room for the charger and two additional batteries, along with one in the laser (Note the kit only comes with one battery). Overall I am extremely pleased with its performance so far. As an electrician, it makes countless tasks much easier and saves time.

Proved to be more valuable than I realized. Purchased to help hang cabinets. Absolutely revolutionary for that. Helped set toe decking for base cabinets. Split the green line in half - lower half on face of toe frame, upper half on wall. Upper cabs- both horizontal and vertical lines help establish levels, but also helped me to see when one cab sucked tight to wall was in fact distorted, making it easier to pinpoint where a few shavings needed to be taken off where cab meets wall. THEN- I started building a new shop. Oh yeah! -Framing vertical and horizontal squareness - Siding- yep, bright enough for that. -Sheetrock> found studs, had buddy move vertical line stud by stud as I drove screws - just smoked through that process! - Metal ceiling- same as above. As for quality, I've had no double line issues or short battery life. I've run this thing for 4-6 hours straight with plenty of battery life. Green color is very visible, even when used outdoors. If you're in business, this will pay for itself monetarily and contribute to the enjoyment of the job for the speed at which you can more accurately execute your work. Really a huge bang for your buck. Go green laser - no regrets!

Badass laser....super bright comparing it to the traditional red laser. Battery pack much more convenient then AA batteries. Only flaw is it only comes with one battery. But I rarely use mine but if you layout allot it could become a problem.

Originally purchased the red laser but upgraded to the green after a couple jobs. The red was hard to see at a shorter distance than was stated in the specs. This unit is much brighter, but with the rechargeable battery, which is nice a lot heavier and bulkier. Had some issues with it sliding sideways on some drywall corners where the lighter red laser would not move. Seems to be very accurate I have checked the work with a level and it is right on.

Love the desalt recharging capabilities. Green line is much brighter than the red Bosch I have. It is a little bit thicker, but that just takes a little getting used to. Used it to redo my brothers balusters, handrails, and post on second fl0or. 6 Posts, 296 baluster. Also used it for by buddies laundry room make over to mount cabinets and set drill holes for all hardware.

This thing is awesome, you need it. Make sure you get the green laser version. Tested it out in a very bright room and you can see the line very well no problems. I wasnt sure if this came with a hard case but it does. Very happy with it. The hard case includes a pair of green glasses so you don't go blind, a charger and a battery. I would also recommend you get the tripod accesory.
