Our family has ordered three of these kits so far.
Great product. I bought this for my mother when she fell and broke her hip. Her rehab therapist said it is a better quality than what they use in their facility. I was so impressed with the kit, I bought a second one for my husband who has not yet had hip surgery but has a lot of hip pain. It has helped him so much, especially the device for putting on his socks. First time in a year he has been able to put on his socks by himself. (Thank you, Lord.) It even helped him put on the support socks he needs to wear after major surgery from cancer. My sister came to visit Mom and I showed the kit to her. She picked up her phone and immediately ordered a kit for her father-in-law who lives with them. Can't wait to show my other sister who has had major leg blood clots following a spinal fusion surgery. This should help her put on those tight fitting support socks/hose. You don't need to have had surgery to benefit from this kit. If you have arthritis or are just plain old like the rest of us, you'll love it.

Her OT at the facility said this is one of the best kits he's seen
We ordered this for my mom who fell and broke her hip, had surgery and is recovering in a skilled nursing facility. Her OT at the facility said this is one of the best kits he's seen, and said Mom is doing great using them. He was especially impressed with the dressing stick and the reacher, both of which Mom is using daily there, and will need as she goes home on her own. He said she is doing so well with them that he wanted her to teach a class! Mom showed me some things she can do with her reacher, and is very pleased with the kit as well.

Does the job well -- wish it had instructions
I do wish some form of instructions had come with this, but for a low cost it did give me the tools I needed to deal with the problems and limitations of hip replacement surgery. The plastic tools, like the long shoehorn and sponge with the handle feel like they're cheap quality, but they are more than sufficient to do the job they are intended to do. The gripping handle reacher is the best tool of the lot and does very well. The thing to help put socks on works well, but comes with no instructions and took me several tries to figure out how to use it. The open side of the cylinder goes to ward the back of your leg, with the black foam pad there meant to catch your sock and keep it from sliding off to fast. The heel side of your sock goes on the side with the black foam pad. Make sure you don't drop the handles as you're getting it down to the floor by your foot. For me, I have to put the sock over the tool entirely down to the toes to get the sock to be put on correctly and with wrinkles or looseness I can't reach to adjust. Your socks will need to be stretched over the entire half-cylinder right to the toe, so any socks that cannot withstand being thoroughly stretched out would not be appropriate for this. My winter wool socks and in-house slipper/socks worked perfectly and show no damage for being so stretched out. Once I figured it out, it worked well. Good kit, and very useful for any mobility problems even without regard to hip replacement surgery.

Excellent BUY THIS NOW
When my surgeon's nurse recomended I buy the kit prior to my knee replacement surgery. I thought really I'm not sure I need one, I am the youngest person in the room being injured from the military. I bought one just in case. WOW I was so wrong, This kit is a game changer! Being 6'4" I could never reach the middle of my back so the sponge on a stick is Great. The grabber is Excellent it can lift large or small items effectively. You will LOVE the extra long shoe horn but the GREATEST THING IN THE KIT IS THE SOCK DEVICE!!! It is a game changer!!! It makes putting on socks a brease. The first time I tried to put on socks I tried to bend and reach and OMG the pain! So I grabbed the Sock thing and POOF my socks were on in seconds and NO PAIN!!!

I wish I'd had this when I was on crutches the last time. This is a lifesaver!
I would recommend this to anyone who needs assistance for whatever reason. This shouldn't be only relegated to the post surgical or geriactric group. This kit can easily be used for so many things around the house by anyone. I worried that this would be cheap quality, but it proved itself to be very durable and well made. I used everything but the sponge post hip surgery. The shoe horn to help me put on pants, tall boots that were snug to slip on, and hook shoes off the floor with it's handle. I kept the pants dressing stick next to me during the day to hook things and drag them to me instead of trying to go get them. The hook is sturdily mounted in the stick so I could even drag my small table covered in supplies to me without the hook pulling out. The sock aid actually works! It wasn't perfect, but it would get the sock up and at least around the heal. I could use the other tools to pull it up higher. But the best item is the extended gripping stick. It offers a fine dexterity that can pick up even tiny items yet it is strong enough to pick up shoes and cans. 'll use that long after this surgery to pick up items that drop behind the washing machine or in other tight places. The only item I didn't use yet is the sponge, but I may use that to help wash windows or my car. All in all one of the top things to have especially post surgery. Excellent!

I am having my right hip replaced and this whole ...
I am having my right hip replaced and this whole package is worthy or the purchase,,,,the sock helper is worth it alone....I used to wake up early last hunting season just to spend 15 minutes trying to put on my two pair of hunting socks. If I have this helper it would have been a breeze. You will need off the this stuff if a knee replacement is on the horizon as well....

good quality product I have ever purchased
Well, it's not just for Hip-Knee problems, that' for sure. This is the most helpful, good quality product I have ever purchased. I am a disabled veteran who was hurt over thirty years ago. Pain is no stranger and not an unfair price to live, but for the last couple of years, I have dreaded putting on and taking off my socks and shoes. Bending over to pick things up has been no fun for a while either. For the price I paid for this kit, it is by far the best option to rid myself of unnecessary pain each and every day. Be smarter than me and don't wait. Pride stopped me for a while. Boy was that stupid! Stop hurting as much, Order Now. (No I am not be paid to say this.) Cheers!

Needed and well worth the price
I recently fractured my back and found it challenging doing daily activities of course. I so appreciated ever one of these items. The grabbers are used daily and often. They grab everything from a tennis ball, credit card, glass and helping me pull up my sock. The hook now has a ladle taped to one end. I use the hook side to pull the out boxes and bins from the closet without bending and ladle side to scoop out dog and cat food. The sock helper is wonderful and if I didn’t have this I would continually have cold feet outside. The sponge is okay but I found it awkward to use, and the sponge too big. I hardly use the shoehorn but it did help and it’s the right length. I use the grabbers to hold the tongue of my sneakers to help slip them on and have elastic lacings (for the time being) since I injured myself.

Indispensable!
I had spinal fusion surgery and BLT (bending, lifting, twisting) is not allowed for the first six weeks. The reacher/grabber and the pole with the hooks have been indispensable. I've been amazed at what I can do with the reacher/grabber: loading and unloading laundry from the washer & dryer, unloading the bottom rack of the dishwasher, picking up toothpicks and ice cubes from the floor, etc. It even works as a cane in a pinch. The hook pole is also very useful, especially when the reacher/grabber gets dropped on the floor! (My advice is not to clip the reacher/grabber and the hook pole together. Keep them separate in case you need to use one to pick up the other.) I haven't needed to use the other items as much, but each part of the kit seems to be solid and well made.
