For those of you who may not understand a relay, let me try and explain: A relay is hooked up to your batteries positive and negative terminals (or simply grounded), while yet another wire from the relay goes to a switch. This switch is most commonly your ignition, but could also be a secondary toggle switch that you install for a dedicated system. The final two wires are the positive and negative output that goes to your accessory. The idea of a relay is that you can run a very thin gauge wire for the switched circuit (off the ignition usually) a long distance to the relay. The power wires can be kept short as large gauge wire costs more and it doesn't make sense to run 20 feet of 8 gauge wire if you don't have to! I bought these for a few different projects, but primarily for my ATV since I have so many accessories on it and I wanted them to be only on when the ignition is on. I wired the relay to the ignition which then goes into a fuse block. It was very easy to wire and each relay has a wring diagram on it. If you still don't understand, there are easy to follow photos all over the web. Many people are asking what gauge the wire is that is attached to the relay. Don't worry, it's a short run and it can handle 40 amps continuous which I confirmed with the NEC book. These are very good quality and with a 5 pack, you can't go wrong. Has Mounting Features that Isnt Mentioned and Should Be. See Pictures!

I purchased this pack of relays due to the price and what they are going to be used for. I have 5 devices on my golf cart where a standard switch would not hold the amperage. My plan was to make a panel to mount it all on to make it neat as possible. When they arrived I quickly noticed that each socket has a male and female slide. What this means is I can connect as many of these together as possible. This makes mounting them easy and clean looking. This wasn't mentioned in the add and should be (probably sell more). Also on the bottom of each relay it looks to be sealed which is also a plus.

A great way to control automobile accessories and other non-auto projects.

These relays are a useful way to control accessories without loading down the control voltage source with the added accessory's current demand. When adding accessories to my car, I always feed the control voltage to the relay coil through a low current fuse (to protect the control source from an overload or wiring short, especially if the control source is one of the computers), and I feed the 12 VDC battery voltage to the relay contacts with a properly selected fuse to protect the wiring and battery from overload or wiring short). Automobile in-line fuse holders with pigtails are commonly available here online.

Exactly what I needed and work perfect.

These things are just what I needed for 2 motorcycles one of the bikes was to old to get replacement fan relay for and the other the cheapest I could find was 30 dollars for a fan relay for that bike. These come with detachable plugs so you can use the plug and wire set or if you are lucky and have a plug already set up the same way then just plug and play. The instructions can be confusing if you don't know what your doing but I did find that the remote wire that tells the relay to turn on and off can be fed by 12 volt or a ground it doesn't care and still operates the same. It worked out perfect for what I needed and I'm sure I will end up using the extras at some point. I would have just ordered the 2 I needed but they were unavailable at the time and those was the best bang for the buck at the time and some extras won't hurt to have around since I do alot of mechanic work and these can be used for any higher voltage situation.

Fit 2007 Mercury Mariner with minor modifications

These fit and worked just fine in my 2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid even though they had 5 pins and the OEM relays had 4 pins. Each relay came with a removable metal spade bracket that I had to remove. You can see the metal bracket on the top side of each of the 5 relays that I copied from the Seller's stock photo. After removing the metal piece, this left a plastic "box" that I had pulled the metal spade out of. (See same photo.) That retaining "box" interfered with a shoulder built into the fuse box next to each of the relays' receptacles. So, I used a shape knife to shave off this plastic retaining box so that I could fully seat the relay into its receptacle in the fuse box. Very easy to do, but did take about 15 minutes for all 5. I'd buy these again.

Vendor sent me some replacements!!

They seem to work well, but the cap is not very secure. I cannot pull these relays out of their socket without pulling the cover off of them. I've had to carefully superglue them all. Since they all still work I'll keep them. But I'll be buying the more expensive ones next time. UPDATE: Changing to 5 stars. The vendor sent me some replacements and they do not have the same issues. I can plug them into the harness and pull them out without issues. EP Family Group. Thank you for taking care of me!

Perfect for headlight conversion

The headlights and foglights on my mustang were powered directly by the switch originally, which can cause the factory wires to overheat and potentially melt. There were some fixes listed of just using one relay to offload the foglights, but I figured may as well just offload all of it and extend the life of the headlight switch in the cabin. Relays worked great, did a thin layer of dielectric grease on the socket and packed some into the holes since these are mounted in my engine bay. All 3 that I used functioned great and it gives me 2 spares to keep in the glovebox just in case.

12 Volt 30 Amp Automotive relay - 5 pack

As a career electronic test technician, I was looking at these relays from a quality point of view. I trusted reviews regarding long term function. Now that I have them, the reviews are accurate: these relays and housing/wiring set-ups are excellent sturdiness and quality. I suspect they will perform flawlessly long term. I'll check back in 4 months or so after I've wired the electric air horns and have a little history to report.

Great relay for the toys

Best and easiest way to add accessories to any toy. We have a Polaris general and I used two of these relays to install rock lights and whip lights. Work great easy to install and having the dongle makes them much easier to use. Highly recommend as relays are the safest way to install additional bells and whistle’s on your play things.

5 pins relay

I use these relays to run fuel pumps and electric fans or any accessories I might need at my shop. Someone on the reviews said to be careful on the wires as their colors don’t match/correspond with relay pins. I removed the wires from the sockets and moved them to the appropriate pin!!!
