This stuff worked a lot better than I expected. You have to follow their directions for cleaning/prepping your copper/brass. I used it on outdoor lights and they look exactly the same as when I polished them a month ago. My lights are in direct sunlight all day long in 100degree weather with ridiculous humidity. I handled them a lot with dirty hands installing them after coating them and there are no fingerprints at all showing. Very impressive. My only 'complaint' is that it isn't quite as clear as I hoped. I used a brush and did 3 coats. You can feel the brush strokes and you can see them when the sun hits them full on. However, I'm the only one who looks that close. Nobody else has noticed, even when I point it out, and my girlfriend says I'm just being super anal.

I am a blacksmith and sometimes forge items like copper and steel. I hate clear coating metal, as I love the raw appearance of metal but it is often needed to prevent oxidation. I have used polyurethane, spar varnish, linseed oil, an industrial clear coat for tanks, clear acrylic and Penetrol. For a clear finish Protectaclear is by far my favorite. When applied it has the color of water and a consistency just a Little thicker than water. It applies without brush marks is crystal clear, easy to get into texture and tight spots and is not noticeable when dry. It becomes indistinguishable from raw metal and is also one of the best sealants I have come across. A little goes a long way, but it is a bit pricey so right now I just use it on smaller projects.

My brother bought a ring at the flea market. In a day his finger turned green. I wanted to buy a ring for myself but before buying it. I wanted to know if there was a protectant that won't allow my finger to turn green. I found protectaclear. Bought it from Amazon and when it arrived the can was a little bent but not enough to make me send it back. I really didn't care as long as the liquid was not leaking. So I had the ring I bought and started to apply protectaclear. I applied three to four coats. One every 30-40 minutes. The resultd are amazing. You can see the shine and been wearing the ring on the photo for a month and a half. No green finger and I will start applying once every month. Protectaclear is so amazing. So amazing that my brother bought some for his wife so she can use it for her jewelry. This is a must buy product.

I feel this was the best purchase I could have gotten. It provided a shine and it was easy to aplly. Dry time is the best, leaving me time to add a second coat to all of my metal designs. It work well , no reactions to my children's arm or their friends. I would and have recommended this product to others. Thanks

I have been using this product to seal the copper wire jewelry that I make. At first I tried brushing it on but now I find that if I dip the pieces in the ProtectaClear and hang them it makes a beautiful finish on the pieces. I ran a cord from side to side in a cardboard box and hang the pieces from large paperclips so they can drip back into the bread pan that I use for dipping. The stones that I wrap in the wire weaving come out beautifully and dry to touch within a few hours. I do wipe them with denatured alcohol before dipping. I will be ordering more as I use this up.

Perfect for all my copper jewelry necklace pendants, earrings and bracelets. I also starting using it on my kiln fired ceramic necklaces AFTER they come out of the kiln, I coat the backside with this, the top side already has a clear coat of glaze cooked into it. I don't make copper rings yet so I have no experience with that. I like to use ProtectaClear for my brass mining tags that I rivet onto copper bracelets. I am careful with the curve on the bracelet as the ProtectaClear levels itself on the edges of the bracelet and tags, so I take a brush and pull off any excess before drying.

It virtually has no smell which I love. I work with a lot of smelly products when making jewelry and this was a nice surprise. It also dries very fast, I like that too! I hope it is durable as I plan to use it a lot!

I have been using this product for a few years. I use for mixed media with copper and polymer clay. I can coat copper, let it dry and add it to uncured polymer. ProtectaClear easily withstands the curing heat of the clay. I’ve used ProtectaClear coated copper and brass with liquid polymer clay with success as well. It is also a great polymer clay sealer (I’ve only tested Kato brand). As a polymer clay sealant on cured polymer it has a satin finish unless a thick coat is used and then it’s more glossy. It seals acrylic paint and mica powders on cured polymer, and even alcohol inks if brushed gently and not overworked. Kato polymer clay stability tests are still good after 2.5 years. I’ve also used this in a traditional way for tarnish resistance on copper wire jewelry. After 3 years of use, they still look great. I really love this product. The company was wonderful about getting me the temperature stability information before I started my own mixed media testing.

Works great! No cracking, very thin and invisible, leaves a nice luster shine, holds up under water, hasn't pealed off my rings yet, I'll be using this product regularly for all my clients. protects against acid rain, washing hands on jewelry like rings, electroplating extended life, etc.

This stuff is amazing, it was highly recommended to me by another jeweler and now I couldn't live without it! It coats any piece beautifully, with a tarnish resistant seal
