I purchased this to replace my old craftsman 25gal compressor. I was skeptical about the noise rating however when its running you can easily have a conversation right next to it. The fit and finish on the one I received was perfect or close enough that I couldn't find anything that stood out. The compressor powers on correctly and shuts down correctly. The pressure has maintained its self at 100psi for 3 weeks while the compressor has been unplugged. (Yes I know you need to drain the condensate, but wanted to see if it leaked down). Many other reviews noted bad connections and leaky fittings, mine however had none of these issues. All in all it is a nice little compressor for the garage, nothing fancy or expensive but just nice to have around. The quiet running is a huge plus in my book, because my other 2 large compressors can be heard around the block. The others are used for painting with LPHV guns and pneumatic tools. (I restore cars and motorcycles as a hobby) If you need something to run a trim nail gun, air up tires, or other low volume equipment this is a great compressor.

This thing is awesome, and so quiet. This is SO MUCH MORE quiet than a portable pancake compressor that I still can't get over that fact. I have it running while working on my car while listening to the radio. The radio's volume isn't even halfway up the dial. It's more than a Harbor Freight compressor in terms of specs/ price ration, but the benefit of less noise is a feature I consider worth the extra cash. If you have a garage, shut the door and you could work it well into the night without pissing off your neighbors.

UPDATE REVIEW: Seller authorized a return of compressor and sent a replacement as soon as they verified shipping label was used, replacement compressor works perfectly. Still a little leery about the plastic line that caused the problem before, the smaller California air compressor has a brass line for that part but so far so good, maybe will fine. opened the box got my new compressor out of the box, attached the wheels and filters, little problem with filters have no wrench thin enough to tighten all the way, get them on as far as possible (why couldn't they install at the factory? they open up for the new filter to go in) So now I turn it on, WOW nice and quiet, runs up to 60 psi and pop! small plastic hose pops off back of the switch assembly. stops running. pull it back in garage remove the nut holding it on try to reattach tighten as well as I can turn on again and just comes off again. Useless compressor right now. and i have a low tire on my camper van. Called california tools they have no support on weekends

I bought the CAT 10020C compressor a little over a year ago to use for small projects around the house and to air up my tires as needed (we have 3 vehicles). I've been very pleased with the purchase. The unit works as advertised - it's very quiet. I've used it to do small framing in the attic for insulation and then used it to staple all the insulation. I've used it to blow out the garage, blow leaves and grass clippings off the driveway, and I'm even learning to use it for small paint projects. There were two minor issues I discovered initially, but neither are a problem as far as I'm concerned. The first was some confusion on installing washers on the wheels. The instructions showed installing washers, but washers were not provided. I believe CAT changed their wheel design and the washers are no longer needed. CAT needs to change their directions to omit installation of washers. I also noticed that my unit was shutting off at 120 psi instead of the advertised 125 psi. Furthermore, the RED zone marking on the pressure gauge starts at about 115 psi, so the pressure on my unit was entering the RED zone. I talked with a factory technician and he said the unit is designed to operate safely at 125 psi. He sent me a video which showed how to calibrate the unit to kick off at 125 psi. As for the RED zone markings, CAT purchased gauges from a third party. CAT could probably customize the gauges for their units but that would drive up the cost. As long as you can read numbers, you can verify your unit is operating in a safe range. I just know that when the needle enters the RED zone, my unit is about to kick off. Everything works fine on the unit and I've had no issues with any leakage. I'm very pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this unit.

This little air compressor is exactly as advertised and I don’t think you can buy better small garage air compressor. It’s as quiet as they say, I can run mine at night with my toddlers and wife asleep in our single story house attached garage and no knows I’m filling some tires for tomorrow, I also got the portable 10 gallon tank to go with this for 50 dollars and I couldn’t be happier. It pumps up to pressure within a couple mins and pumps my portable up about the same. When comparing other air compressors at this price and rating this one wins if your willing to spend the over 300 dollar price tag. Which most small compressors with ratings like this cost around 300. The noise was a tipping for me and I havnt looked back since I’ve been using it for about 2 months now.

My 8 gal Husky compressor of over 10 years crapped out and I rebuilt the pump cylinder and it ran for a year and crapped out again. Time for a new compressor! I ran across CA Air Tools and this upright 10 gal model and was impressed with their focus on low noise and how extremely quiet it actually was. The Husky with one wheezy little cylinder made all sorts of ear damaging noise when it ran and took a long time to reach full pressure. With two, significantly larger cylinders, the CA Air Tools compressor reaches full pressure from empty in about 2 min and does it quietly due to baffling the intakes and running at a lower RPM than single cylinder models. I've had it a couple months now and it is working great! Avoid the little compressors with the big plastic covers that hide their wheeziness!

I bought this compressor recently and I really like it, yes it is very quiet and the tank fills fast, I wanted to run an impact wrench for my truck wheels that torque at 140 lbs. I didn't know much about impact wrenches or air compressor's so I bought a really good ingersol rand impact wrench. 1350 ft lbs is the tightening power and I think 950 ft lbs to remove things, nuts and other stuff. I also bought the California air auxiliary tank aluminum 100 bucks or so. This gun takes a lot of air really 6 cfm to run, the setup of the compressor and extra tank was simple I have two complete sets of tires and wheels and I live in iowa so I switch em out in the winter, I can tell you if anyone wants to use it for that purpose it worked awesome riped those lug nuts right off, and put them back on great, also the two tanks together never stopped the wrench from working great. I have been buying stuff on amazon for many years and this is my first review, so yes get this compressor. now I just gotta find an easier floor jack, also I wish I would have spent just a little more money and got the wrench that runs quieter. hope this helps you decide. Also this is an interesting and curious piece of info. just got off the phone with California air as I was asking him about the auto drain/manual feature which I know I definitely clicked on when I bought this compressor (the guy said there were a lot of people inquiring about this) but going back and looking at the prices I did a lot better price wise by purchasing it this way, you can look at it and see what I mean, so yeah if you are trying to get both drains your probably not gonna get it, and California air is not sure why. so what that I have to open the tank valve to drain it, no big deal. Also he said that to get my extra air capacity I have to run an air hose from compressor to auxiliary tank, then run your air tool off of the auxiliary tank, it comes all set up with fittings right out of the box so that was easy

Initial Review: Initial Review: Initial Review: Arrived in one piece - well packed and delivered on time by an Amazon delivery team due to its weight. It replaces a 15 yr old Husky compressor from Home Depot that has seen better days. This is perfect for my needs: Keeping tires inflated on 3 cars and 2 bikes. Occasional use bead blasting suspension and other small/medium auto parts. Occasional use with impact wrench Now that I have a 'real' compressor, I'm sure I'll find some other uses. It is very quiet - Will modify review if my initial opinion changes.

The first time I used it a weld on the tank failed. Oh darn!. I called customer service and reached a human who spoke English. I told him the problem. He couldn't believe it but I offered to send pictures. Within minutes of sending pics I received a call from the Customer Service Manager. He was very concerned. I told him I threw the packaging away and asked if he would send the replacement unit so I could use the packaging to return his unit. NO ONE does that but he agreed. I misunderstood some details but he worked it all out. Not only received the replacement but a free spray gun for my trouble. Customer service like this is worth money. By the way the compressor is great and VERY Quiet.

Have been using this for about 2 months now and have it run 2-3 hours a week MAX and here are my thoughts Sound: At first it's loud until the safety valve closes and then its quieter. Not crazy quiet but not loud either. Pretty surprised at how quiet it was. Assembly: It goes together easily. Wheels and rubber feet leave a lot to be desired. Overall: Quality seems pretty decent. Nothing stands out that is horrible and nothing thats out that's amazing I feel like it may be a little over rated in terms of output. However being only 10gallons it does fill up pretty quick. The motor does get pretty warm after running 15 minutes straight. Factory states this can run for 45min straight before needing a 15min cool off period. They also state to make sure the motor doesn't get over 150* Downside: Wish it put out just a little more power. After running for a few minutes the pitch sound changes and gets louder. Didn't always do this so I'm a little concerned being that it's not very old. Time will tell. So far it's been decent. Be nice if the 30gallon they offer didn't use the same small motor and wasn't 3 times the price. Ran this for 10minutes straight on a cnc plasma with a hypertherm powermax45 at 45amps. To my surprise it didn't ever run out of air but the air did stay on the low end the entire time.
