Would recommend this. Only thing you need is a T handle. Stripped a bolt on a thermostat housing on my dodge. I was hesitant from the reviews but overall this is far better price and quality than helicoil brand which would be 7x this price. Pro: good quality Quick shipping Price far below any name brand helicoil kits Cons: You need to go buy a sliding T handle for the die which isn't included No other cons yet Used few already everyone worked as it should. Very very happy would highly recommend. Used in aluminium as well as steel already.

Be patient with tool

If you are patient and take your time by carefully drilling and applying oil when tapping. The rethread helicoil will work great.

Successfully used to fix my Audi!!

I have a 2009 Audi A4. The previous owner had stripped some bolt socket threads in the cylinder head when changing the pcv. So oil leaked and needed a quart every 280 miles. Arrg. So I bought this and voila. Fixed. One warning, there is no included handle for the threader thingies. Bummer. I have lots of tools but not that one. I had to very carefully grip it with a pair of pliers and turn it. This will not work if you don’t have a steady hand so you may want to buy one of those too

Easy on the wallet,

This set is a lifesaver. I broke off a bolt in the cylinder head of my car and absolutely could not go to an oversized bolt due to clearance. This kit had everything I needed to drill out, tap, and fix the threads to use the same size bolt as was in there previously. The drill bit had no problem clearing out the remainder of the bolt in the aluminum head, the tap for the M6 Helicoil insert worked perfectly, and the inserts were easy enough to install with the handle and tab punch. With my own M6 bolt I was able to make the repair I needed to quickly. Sure, you can find genuine Helicoil branded kits for about the same price for a single size, but this kit will be handy just in case I ever need to do this again with a different sized bolt. The kit also comes in a nice metal case and everything has its own little compartment to keep things organized well.

Worked as Advertised

The recoil thread repair kit set worked great. Just installed four 8x1.25mm coils from this set. The drills and taps are good quality and the inserts are just right for hardness. Having installed hundreds of heli coils being a machinist all my working life this set is as good as any other more expensive sets. Nice metal storage box that closes correctly.

Surprisingly good kit

I was nervous about buying a kit like this without knowing the brand. My dirt bike had a stripped chain adjuster and I used this to fix it. These are fairly shallow for this application but it worked well. My suggestion if you need something to thread deeper would be to buy a Time Sert kit.

Love this kit. Used it to upgrade a floor jack handle retention bolt threads that had stripped out in two of both my Harbor Freight jacks. This kit works perfect and the finished threads are much stronger than the old stock ones. It didn't take very long either. Love this Kit!!!!

I used it the minute it arrived to repair a stripped thread on my brake caliper. A small instruction sheet would have been helpful to explain the use of the adjustable collar. Seems to be high quality.

Worked like a charm! Comes in a metal box and keeps everything nice and organized. These work really well and was a lot easier than i thought it would be. If you need a tap and die or helicoil set get this one!

comes with metal case. drills. insertion tool. tang removal tool. one kit at autozone with 4 inserts costs as much as this online. metal case is cool. comes with tons of inserts. works well. i had absolutely no trouble with this kit. Thread repair is best left to the skilled. The quality of the repair has a lot of influence from the skill of the operator. You most certainly should make sure the threads are clean and lubed before HAND STARTING the insert and gently turn the rest of the way with the install tool. You should remove the tang with the removal tool and a quick hit from a dead blow hammer. ZERO TROUBLE FROM THIS KIT.
