Very Impressive Accuracy so far !

OK; you got me, . . I am sufficiently impressed with these inexpensive scales. I don't have any 'certified mass' things to test the scales with, so I used what little I had. I do have an old incomplete set of 'academic balance-beam weights' from the 1960's and I tried them. The photo shows the 500 gm, 100 gm, the 20 gram, and the 5 gm weights on the scales. I was truly surprised that it tells me 625 grams, . . Spot-On ! Yes; Very Impressed !

Easy to Use, High Precision

I like using this scale. Readings are clearly visible, buttons are crisp (you know when you have clicked). Even though I already have a kitchen scale at home, I ordered this because it has a higher level of precision. My other scale also has such a small weighing platform that if I put a large bowl on the scale, I can't see the screen. This one is way better. I have converted all my recipes from cups and Tbs measures to ounces. This way I can measure directly into my mixing bowl and I don't have to clean multiple measuring cups and measuring spoons. Plus I think this is a more precise way to meausre fluffy items like flour or brown sugar which measures differently when packed or not packed. Great product!

The best and easiest to use kitchen scale I've ever had.

A great tool for all kinds of measuring. I like that it allows you to first put the receptacle you will place what you want to measure things into on the scale, and then set the scale to only measure the contents in your receptacle of choice without having to account for the Wight of the receptacle. It's made of solid metal; not plastic, so it is sturdy and I expect it to hold up well. I have dropped it, and did not damage it at all in dropping it from the counter onto a hard kitchen floor. HIGHLY Recommend if you don't like having to spend a lot of time just trying to figure how the thing works! I sure don't. HIGHLY Recommend!

I am surprised this gets any negatie reviews. It's very inexpensive, yet decent quality and works great.

There is a reason this is the number 1 selling kitchen small scale on Amazon. It works well and it's super simple to use. My wife prepares meals for our canine kids each night and she also makes their breakfast and puts it in a snap top sealed plastic container in the refrigerator for the next morning. She prepares boiled skinless and boneless cubed chicken breast and alternates between mixing it with white rice and/ or butter noodles. This scale makes weighing out the portions as easy as could be. Works great and couldn't be easier to use. Want to get 4.234 ounces of something? No problem, this scale does it with ease. You set the scale on a flat surface and put your container on the top of the scale and push the TARE button and it zero's the weight of the scale with the dish or container on it. When you add to the bowl it shows you the exact weight of the food itself, after all, you generally don't eat the dish but you need something to put the food into. Once you have this scale, you will be weighing everything. You will weigh the dishes, then the utensils and then stuff which has already been weighed followed by stuff that it doesn't matter what they weigh. It's easy to become an obsession, soon you will be weighing everything including stuff you probably shouldn't weigh. Have you ever wondered how much that fancy underwear you bought your wife or girlfriend (or both, that's up to you) weighs? Probably not, but you can soon find out. Just remember, this is used for food items so keep it clean........

useful for weighing newborn kittens!

I am using this scale for tracking weight of newborn foster kittens. The mother cat was rescued from a hoarder house where they found over 70 cats. She was very young, malnourished, visibly pregnant, and covered in fleas when we brought her home to foster. Her litter of four kittens was born a few days later and all were undersized. This little scale helps us to ensure the kittens are gaining weight steadily. It measures in different units so we can talk grams with the vet or ounces with the shelter. Our scrappy little kits are a week old and have more than doubled their birthweight. I am so grateful to have this tool! It is far more accurate than the old kitchen scale that had a spring loaded lever that never seemed to give us the same reading twice. It is user-friendly, and very simple to operate. Seeing our runt increase in a day from 3.43 ounces to 3.56 ounces is reassuring and gives us hard data rather than just a guess. Use this scale on a hard, flat surface to ensure accuracy. Our kittens are in a carpeted room, so we have the scale sitting on a heavy, flat board.

The accuracy is excellent. I weigh lead ingots and bullets that I cast, for target shooting. Delivery was fast. Exactly what I was looking for.

straight forward functional scale

This is a straight forward functional scale. Not the most stylish, but I knew that before I purchased. I selected this one because 1) it does NOT have a back-light so battery should last longer (yet amazingly the display is quite readable in normal kitchen light) and 2) the display is positioned and angled so that it is not obstructed by large objects like bowls set on the scale, unlike what was mentioned in the reviews for prettier scales. Caveat: You may want a scale that uses a back-light for the display if you are regularly cook in the dark. (I know people for whom, based on their cooking. one might conclude had cooked in the dark. A note of warning if this applies to you - a back lit scale will not help you.) Also, this is a two button scale so turning it off confused others in my household. The scale will turn off when the tare is 0.0, so sometimes you have to press it twice, once to tare it to 0, and once again to turn it off. Of you could just let it sit there unused for a long while and let it turn itself off.

FIRST USE 1. I received this scale. It was well packaged. I have some pictures that will tell a better story than I can. 2. I have 5 weights from 1g to a total 38gs.each one measured right on when tested on this scale. I will post a picture of the 0ed an then first gram and the last 38 gram.reading with weights on it. Well designed and functional I used it and everything worked as advertised. Measured all the ingredients perfectly for my cookies. Everything work as expected. lit up and easy to read I hope this passes the geek squad!

Cheap and Easy to figure out

Really easy to use, light, doesn't take up much space at all - the tare function is super useful and easy to understand. Turn on the scale Place the container you'll be using on it - hit tare Removed the container and you'll see the readout will now say "-80" or however many grams the original container weighed. You can now add whatever you're adding (I personally use it mostly to track my geckos weight) and the original weight of the container will be automatically deducted. All you need to do is press a button. Super simple. I actually tried to find a used scale, and they were a similar price to this one new and not as good. Definitely recommend it, regardless if you're cooking or measuring reptiles

You can look like a drug dealer too!

This scale is very handy and being able to weigh down to the gram, it makes anal-retentive uptight folks like myself positively giddy. But once I got it, I couldn't help weighing everything in the kitchen. I can now tell you what any of my utensils weigh. As to the drug dealer look, I intentionally left some flour on it when our friends came by for dinner. They just thought I was messy and should be more careful cleaning up. In all seriousness, I can now weigh out my serving sizes to help with dieting as I am horrible with portion control. I blame my wife because all of our plates and bowls are huge so I just fill them up, but she tells me that I don't need to pour a half gallon of milk and a half a box of cheerios into the bowl just because I can. She also says I don't need to try and eat it all and then complain all morning about how stuffed I am and wonder how eating something which is essentially a bunch of little holes can get me so full. One of life's little mysteries.
