Since I have purchased this weapon, I no longer fear opening the refrigerator and having a block of sharp cheddar mocking me anymore! I can now hold my head high with pride at the County''s annual cheese slicing festival! NO LONGER will I be shamed and ridiculed by the reigning Champion, "Kevin du Fromage" for I am prepared! Exactly what I was looking for...

Extremely satisfied with this purchase. Have been using this daily for 2 weeks so far. As a big/tall man with muscular hands, I love the feel of a nice weighted tool that is balanced - this cheese slicer did not disappoint. The handle is solid metal with rounded contours, has a good weight/feel, and fits very comfortably in the hand. The locking screws on the side have grippable heads for fast adjustment with the fingers, and also has a flat slot for a screwdriver or the side of a butter knife if you want to lock them down for the long haul. The roller is also made of metallic material, and rolls smoothly through each slice. The slicing head is also wide enough to cut through a 24oz block of cheddar on the widest side. The anchoring system used to secure the cutting wire is also secured with screws - using the same block of cheddar, the wire was secured strong enough to make that slice on the widest side for the full length of the cheese block without letting loose of the wire, or the wire bending/breaking - impressive! This device came with a spare cutting wire in case the other breaks, but between a family of 4 each using this 2-3x daily over 2 weeks, I don't see any evidence of that happening anytime soon.

it's nice to have this

After having several cheaper slicers that didn't last long, it's nice to have this. It's larger, heavier and apparently built to last. I appreciate that it comes with an extra wire (now if I can just figure out how to keep track of the wire until I need it, and remember that it's there.) It works beautifully. Note that to adjust the thickness, you unscrew the two ends of the roller individually. This is less convenient than the one-screw mechanism on some other slicers.

Works great and feels nice in the hand

This replaced an old one I had. No idea where I got that one from. It was very old and didn't work too well but I was just too lazy to get a new one. Well I finally did and boy what a difference. This is a very nice cheese slicer. Very well made. Fits nice in the hand and does a great job. Easy to adjust and it come with a spare cutting wire. I looks very nice and although I haven't had a need yet I would be happy to put this out for guests to use. I kept the plastic part of the package to store the slicer in as I want to protect the wire. Seems to work well in the drawer and doesn't take up any additional room.

Top quality product, great company, great price!!!

I am a retired chef but still constantly cooking and throwing dinner parties, BBQs, 5-6 times per week as well as some volunteer projects I am involved with. I am always looking for top quality tools that make my craft easier and so far this is one of them. As most of you know, shredded cheese has a chemical in it that keeps it from clumping or sticking together so I only buy block cheese slicing and shredding my own as needed. Keep this in mind for those of you who have HBP or a heart condition, that chemical may adversely affect you. This is truly a quality slicer and while I haven’t owned it that long, I have already made thousands of cuts on Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Swiss, Gouda, Parmesan, Mozzarella, Gruyère, SarVecchio, etc. I highly recommend this product, and this company!!! Five Star cheese slicer!

Buying cheese in a block and slicing it yourself is a money saver and your cheeses will stay fresh much longer. It is tricky though to get every slice uniform without a guide. Additionally, I like some cheeses thick and some very thin. So, when I found the Bellemain Adjustable Cheese slicer I was so happy! It's very easy to use and has enough weight to it to stand the test of time. I know I'm very happy with this purchase and will recommend this product to my family and friends.

I really like this slicer...

Arrived on time and in excellent condition. Prior to this one I had a Table Craft one, but the wire broke in about a year of using it. So I was shopping on Amazon for a replacement one and was undecided between the Table Craft and this one... so glad I went with this one... it seems to be better made and it's easier to adjust the thickness of the slices. It has 2 screw on the sides of the slicer for adjusting and the Table Craft had something similar but I had to use a pair of pliers to loosen and tighten it and it would often have to be tightened, but this one was seems to stay tighter longer. This one has the wire on the back side, when using place that side facing the cheese when cutting, I think with this slicer it will last longer.

Best hand slicer ever!!

I was so excited to see this on Amazon. I had a slicer just like this one and in our moves it was lost. I have looked in every grocery store and kitchen store, all magazines that have kitchen products and no one had this slicer. Ahaaaa, saw it anciently on Amazon and at a very reasonably price. This slicer is identical to the one I had but much heavier than the old one. Slices like a charm. Great for cheese and crackers, party platters, tops of casseroles and many other things. Also cuts butter like nothing else. It's adjustable from very thin to a hefty slice for a cheese platter. Anyone looking for a good hand slicer will love this item. I do and I'm so happy to have found this product on Amazon. Can't go wrong with Amazon!!

Have some cheese

My husband has been on me for some time to get him a proper cheese slicer as he likes to have sliced cheese on his omlettes. We love this cheese slicer the only draw back is the wire does not come fully attached so you have to figure out how to attach it but it wasn't to hard so I still give it 5 stars. Oh and we love that it's adjustable

large and heavy in a good way. Best way to slice hard or velveeta cheese

This thing is BIG & HEAVY, which is a good thing. It has a strong wire which I see is easy to replace if needed, the roller is large which I think makes the slicing work better. You can adjust the thickness of the slices to thin or pretty fat. I let my hard cheese set on the counter a bit until it isn't rock hard them slice. I can slice a whole block of cheese in just minutes. I slice for appetizer plates and for sandwiches with this. It is replacing an old one where the wire came disconnected and it had no way to reconnect tight so I thought this one looked like it was better designed; it is. I would certainly buy again, but I expect this to last a lifetime. So guess future purchases will be for gifts with a block of nice cheese.
