I'm able to trim around, bushes, sidewalks and fence-rows of the two rather large yards that I maintain (mine and my in-laws' property; they live on the property adjoining mine). The batteries are pretty powerful, they last about 20 minutes each with fairly-heavy trimmer use. I can usually do one entire yard on just a single one, snap the other one in for the second yard and have juice to spare after. Putting the trimmer together upon arrival was a cinch, easy-peasy. Nothing to it really: just loosen one screw, snap on the guard and replace the screw. I'd definitely recommend this item for basic yard trimming. Like others have said, though, it's a trimmer, not a hard-core weed-whacker. It can do some "whacking", but it's not nearly as powerful as a 2-cycle weed-eater, and the batteries will run down rather quickly if the trimmer is stressed like that. Just use it for trimming around trees, bushes, sidewalks, garden borders and fences. It'll handle those jobs fine.

I wanted to wait after a few uses. I think I've used it about 9-10 times now. So glad we got this. It is really light and makes trimming and edging seem almost fun now. Thinking back to my corded trimmer and always having to manually feed the line because the autofeed never worked right. The autofeed works on this almost flawlessly. I've only had to open the cap with the line twice. Once because I didn't autofeed in time and the line was no longer sticking out then the 2nd time was to swap it out. I just bought the 6 pack of line here on amazon because it was basically the same price. Durability and use. After reading the reviews and how hard it was to snap into place I confirmed it was, but I read some and the materials they use are very durable. I think I read it on their homepage that the plastic used was the same plastic on helmets, so I think it will last a long time. I only have about a 1/4 acre of a yard. The first use was not under easy conditions because it rained a lot and things were getting a little tall. Under normal conditions this thing flies through the jobs. Both batteries easily get me through the front and backyard and edging around the flowerbeds. Sadly we got lazy on our backyard flowerbed and now we have grass/weeds...so I just whack them down for now. I know you can't have the perfect "conditional" yard to cut every time because of rain and growth...so 2 batteries is pushed to the limit then because it does bog down in thicker conditions. Not so much that it stops, but it definitely slows down then picks back up once cut. It is light like everyone says, but I read somewhere here ( some elderly lady) where she crafted/engineered an old shoulder strap to help ease the load even more. I will tell you. I exercise and lift dumbbells 10x this weight, but hardly stopping now and moving...it does get heavy after awhile. So I have slowly been thinking how I can rig a shoulder strap. This will make it even faster. I feel my forearms after basically non-stop use of this. The Batteries seem to hold pretty good constant charge for me. I make sure they're both fully charged before I do any work. The only complaint I have, and it may only be mine...is that the charger itself is REALLY snug when snapping in. Snapping into the tool itself is very easy. I don't think my wife or kids would actually be able to unlock it from the charger as snug as it is right now. It works so well and the snug snapping on the charger is not enough to make me want to deduct a star. I plan to buy the hedger and blower next to have extra batteries and chargers. I think on one of them I'll just buy the tool itself. I think 3 batts and 2 chargers should suffice. If I find any anomalies during the summer I will surely report it here. I use amazon reviews like crazy and trust everyone's positive and negative reviews. So if I read enough...I suppose i'd jump off a bridge with yall. Even if I don't buy from Amazon (oops?) I still normally buy something they may stock and read their reviews. Sometimes I just need something right then lol. Sorry Amazon.

THIS IS NOT A GAS TRIMMER! Now, once you get that in your head, you can enjoy the benefits of this little gem. I have always had gas trimmers. I have always hated the accidental destruction of fences, siding, and edging. I have also never loved getting hit in the shins with 145 mph rocks and mulch chips. Vibrating hands and ringing in my ears also are not on the top of my list of fun things. This little 20V trimmer addresses all those issues. It isn't as powerful as a gas trimmer, but it cuts the grass. What more do you need? It is much much lighter. It has way less vibration. It is very quiet. The lack of power is actually a benefit in my opinion. It is much easier to control for a finer more detailed cut. Of course the flip over edging feature works like a champ to for lining out your natural edges on landscaping beds. I know what you are thinking...how long doe the battery last? Well, I have a quarter acre with large beds, a fence, curbs, a fire pit, and five trees to trim. This thing does them all and has enough in reserve to run my Worx blower on all the surfaces now covered with grass. Would I buy this if I was a commercial landscaper? Nope. Would I buy it if my yard was twice as big? Sure, I'm only using one battery now and it comes with two! I have no regrets. The gasser is going in a garage sale today!

Im an average sized lady and wanted something i could handle and not have sore arms afterward. I have used this trimmer about a dozen times and it is exactly what i was looking for. It can be a bit odd to convert the bottom back and forth from edger with wheels to just weed eater, but im getting the hang of it. I have yet had to adjust the string at all so i dont know how difficult that is. This is being used on a city property for edging my lawn/grass only. The battery, fully charged, has no problem lasting the approx 30 mins it takes to do my front, back, and side yard areas. I have not tried to use it longer, so unsure of the total battery time allowed.

Oh boy! Boy oh boy! I am a disabled vet / disabled cop. I suffer from a myriad of conditions (psychological stuff), plus chronic pain all over. Amazon benefits vets and others like myself because I don’t have to leave home unless I want to. My QUALITY of LIFE is what it is because of AMAZON!!! I have been relying on Amazon to deliver me ‘stuff,’ stuff I need, stuff I want, stuff I didn’t know I needed or wanted!!! For fifteen (15) years now!!! More actually! This battery powered trimmer allowed me to do my ENTIRE BACK YARD! Small though it is, the grass was yea high! Edging is crucial, Done. My back goes first, Not today! The trimmer is so light I can use it with one hand! The AUTO-FEED is AMAZING! The trimmer line life FANTASTIC! I used three fully charged 20V batteries to complete the backyard, it was actually fun and complete before I knew it !!! No back brace, no knee brace - no XTRA MMJ!!! Just a WONDERFULLY ENGINEERED, WELL THOUGHT OUT, TOUGH LITTLE TRIMMER!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TRIMMER! I’m a country boy with all the heavy duty tools from ranch life and large homesite use. Now at 63 I need and appreciate tools such as this. Ordering the POWER SHARE BLOWER neXt, should be great for quick clean uPs! Than X! AMAZON! Than X! WORX!

What a great buy! This product is amazing and very user friendly. I purchased this product because I was sick of being limited by the power cord and the difficulties that I experienced when trying to replace my black and decker electric trimmer line spools. The line seemed to require changing so often that it would have been comical, had it not been such a pain in the derrière. The Worx trimmer makes easy work out of trimming and edging. The wheels are amazing, offering full support of the trimmer when edging, while making straight lines easier to make. Also, I have used it three times to trim and edge my yard without having to replace the line spool. I’m very impressed. It came two battery packs so that one will always be charged and ready to go. I remove the battery from the unit while storing and run the battery out all of the way prior to recharging. I hope to greatly extend the battery life by doing this. This strategy seems to work very well with regard to my cordless tooth brush and I’m sure that it’ll help with my Worx batteries too. Who knew that yard work could be so much easier?

Easy enough for this older lady to set up and use. My adult nephew who is 6' tall was cynical until he tried it. Now I don't have anything to trim or weed because he has done all of it. We are both impressed with how well it works! I would highly recommend this trimmer/weedeater!

Love this thing. After getting the powerful gas trimmer and spending a few weekends dragging it all over the property, decided that there really SHOULD be something that was a little less bulky, cumbersome - and tiring. Granted the gas trimmers aren't like carrying a MOWER around, but they're not light when you go carting 'em around a couple acres. THIS Worx unit IS light - even after caring it around a couple acres. No issue with choking, starting, running out of gas, MIXING gas, spark plugs, tuneups, etc. An electric battery starts the trimmer when you pull it. Period. No hassle. On the ONE hand, they are NOT as strong (at least this model isn't) as a 25cc gas trimmer, but 95% of the time I really don't care about all that power. And, as I saw someone else point out, having gravel and sticks hitting your shins at 140 mph is no picnic. STILL have dings on my legs from a couple months ago. So it may even be regarded as a PLUS - cuts grass AND saves your legs! It takes a bit of getting used to as far as the line advance but seems to have worked well so far. I have to manually advance it every once in a while, but have yet to need to reload the spool - after weedeating the yard (~2 acres) three times plus some touchup weeding, I'm still on the first spool. Since you can manually reload with your own line, it really should be no issue anyway. The toughest thing to get used to is NOT banging it on the ground to advance. The variability of the head pitch is great - being taller some angles work a LOT easier for me than they do for my significantly shorter fiancee - we're about a foot different in height. And a quick twist is all that's required to get the angle right for both of us. The edging setup works great too - and also did away with the regular need for the gas driven edger. Now, If you want to dig a nice line with your edger, you WILL still need your gas version but for weekly tidying up - this is perfectly adequate! The only thing I wish it had was what apparently the 2.0 model had and that was a way to put the wheels down to use it as sort of a mini-lawn mower thing - keeping the height consistent in tough to reach areas - like underneath decks or porches that aren't completely accessible while standing. DEFINITELY a great purchase for me.

I am a single female who has an unfortunate amount of yard work. I gave up on the gas-powered weed trimmer that was a leftover from my former marriage. I spent more time figuring out the line than trimming. It killed my back and shoulders. Last but not least, with gas powered yard machines I never know how much oil to mix, what kind of gas to put in and so forth. I am not mechanical. So, my quest for an easier and lighter weed trimmer began. I landed on this Worx Trimmer due to Amazon reviews and popularity, along with other marketplace reviews. I have used the weed trimmer after three mowing cycles. So far: no regrets. It is economical. I have almost an acre of yard, so the second battery comes in very handy. If I decide I want a third battery I can pick up another for about $40. An added bonus, for the mechanically-challenged I took out the offered four-year warranty for less than five bucks, a no brainer for me. So how does it perform? I love it. A friend stopped by the other day and complimented me on how nice the yard looked. The trimmer is lightweight, and I have a health issue that causes chronic pain at forty-something. The weight, or lack thereof, is a huge relief compared to the gas trimmer collecting dust and spider webs in the garage. I realize the batteries will lose some steam, but right now I have enough to take care of my yard. It is so easy to feed line to that a child could do it. Need I say more? I went back and forth, back and forth with this and another well known brand that starts with a B. Again: mechanically-challenged. I hadn't heard of this brand. So glad chose the Worx WG163 Grass Trimmer. If it works for me, it will work for you! If you found my review somewhat helpful please click/tap the yes icon. Thank you so much!

I hesitated to buy this Worx because I was afraid it might not be powerful enough to handle edging and trimming my St. Augustine grass and because past experience with string trimmers wasn't exactly wonderful. So glad I bought this one anyway! This string trimmer exceeded my expectations. It does everything I need it to do, is lightweight and just makes trimming and edging so much easier. Pros: Lightweight 2 batteries (even though I could edge and trim everything without running out of power on one) WHEELS when edging! (I'm in my 60s and it made it so much easier to edge my sidewalks!) powerful enough to handle my St. Augustine grass string does not jam--unlike previous string trimmers I've used free rolls of string for life! (There is a S & H fee but it's quite reasonable--currently about $9 for 6 rolls on the WORX website.) Cons: poor documentation--do yourself a favor and watch youtube videos on a) assembling the unit and b) converting it between trimmer and edger
