Tried other types but these are the best so far. Regular soda bottles work best and don't leak and come in all sizes so you can do small pots with skinny bottles or use 2 litre for big pots. The only thing is the numbers on the drip adjustment are hard to read so adjust acording to instructions on box before sticking into soil. Give the probes time to fill up and don't jam them to far down into the soil. wait a day and see if you need to change the drip but pull it out first when the bottle is near empty to avoid spills. Make sure you have a drip tray under the plants in case you miscalculate and drip to much water. the instructions on the box tell you a suggested number to set for your size of pot. start with that and change as needed.

Made life so easy. I have large pots all over my property; pretty but a pain to keep watered. I picked 2 liter soda bottles out of my neigbors' recycling to use. Once in I just walked the yard twice a week and filled only the bottles that were empty. I stopped using the hose altogether. It was a lot easier carrying a couple soda bottles from the spigot than dragging that thing around. Before going out of town i just added a second bottle to those plants that I knew dried out fast. Ten days later they were all ready to be filled but none were parched. Surprisingly, if you washed off the labels, both the clear and the green bottles were not noticeable across the yard. Those on the patio were not offensive.

They are using to bury in plant Since we are in a drought this is the perfect solution to water my containers (120) without having to water every day.

Works great for most all of my outdoor container plants. Several spikes needed to be watched as they did not output any water and this was corrected. For my 10 to 20 gallon container scrubs and plants I use up to 2 drippers and two large soda bottles per container with perfect results. I have about 20 drippers in my garden and will purchase more as my garden grows. Great product - great low tech, actually, great no tech product that really works.

Bought them to use while on vacation. I had tried them a couple of days before I left and they mostly did a good job. Left in a friend's hand to continue. Hope my plants are still alive when I return after being gone over 3 weeks.

LOVE this! It's the perfect tool to keep plants healthy and happy. I use it outdoors on two new trees I just planted. They need regular drip watering for the roots to take and grow, and this helps me get that water to them without running the sprinklers and paying extra on my water bill. I set it on 8 and it takes 2-3 hours to empty a 1L bottle. It's also super easy to use and set up. I will be ordering more for the indoor plants!

the Hydrospike drippers performed as expected. If you have an plants that are not at all drought resistant, these devices allow you to go away for a long weekend. For any amount of time longer than that, you should consider an irrigation system of sorts, or have someone stop by and water your plants. I have been very pleased with these drippers.

This product is awesome.Very easy to use.We bought some quart size plastic beverage containers, emptied them and attached to the Hydrospikes, and put them in our hanging plants, and also a couple in our tomato garden. We went on vacation for a week and came back to our flowers and tomato plants looking fresh and hydrated. There was even a little water left in a couple of them. This product really worked well for us,and we are very pleased with them.

These make watering in the desert so much easier. In addition to normal evening/morning watering, just set these on 2 and your plants won't dessicate during the day. Just put a hole in the bottom of the bottle big enough to pour water into (no need to cut the whole bottom off -- that's just too much evaporation and bugs) give the black cone a gentle topsy turvy rotation to get bubbles out and ensure water flow and away you go. Also, don't use a bottle any bigger than 1 liter or it gets too top heavy. (500ml works best.)
