Does what it's supposed to do.
The thing is phenomenal. Great accuracy and you don't have to calibrate it. One minor complaint is that it gets tripped up by the metal angles normally placed on outside corners, so if you are looking for another stud near the corner and you have the thing over the metal angle as well, it will miss the stud. Just make sure you're not too close to the corner and it works fine. Also, it doesn't detect wires but it's worth the sacrifice for how much better it is at detecting studs. The little bubble level is a very handy addition.

Rolls Royce of stud finders
This is the Rolls Royce of stud finders. Lights up lights where there is a stud and stays dark where there isn't. I like the little level on it because you can even draw a little line and know that it is level for hanging shelves (just a little added bonus). I hope I don't need to buy a new stud finder any time soon now that I have a quality one.

I have been renovating a house with my father, and we have used his Franklin Sensors 710 (the original version) for years. I have noticed how much better it performs then any of the other types of stud sensors (of which I have three of various brands). I decided to pick one up for myself so that I could use it on some of my own projects. The "+" model is almost exactly the same as the original, save for the ruler on the top, the level bubble, and there is a slight size difference (less then 1/2" in all dimensions, see picture). As far as I understand there weren't any internal changes. I can see the usefulness of the level bubble, especially if trying to hang something like a picture and it isn't really worth getting a designated level. If you do have the original, it probably isn't worth buying the new version; but if you are trying to decide between the two, all else being the same, I would get the "+" version. The 710+ performs reliably, just the same as the original version. I know that I can trust the readings on this stud sensor, it is much more reliable then any other type I have used. I have completely torn down every walls of the house I am renovating to bare studs, so I am familiar with stud locations in each of the walls. When I put the sensor up to the wall, the studs are all exactly where I expect them to be (and on some of the walls with only one finished side I can check the other side of the wall to verify the readings). I included a picture if it in use, those familiar with construction know that one side or the other of a wall socket will have a stud, and the sensor correctly shows that in the picture. If you are serious about construction and find yourself regularly using stud sensors, the Franklin Sensor 710+ will almost certainly alleviate your frustrations with them.

Actually works!
I bought this for a small reno because every studfinder I've ever bought has never worked and beeps obnoxiously at me. I usually just find a stud by knocking or other things on the wall, the poke around 16" over. I got tired of doing this and took the plunge-- this is an expensive stud finder. But, I've probably spent way more than the cost of this, over the years, on the o as I have that don't work. I moved a closet door opening over and only had 1 miss-- it was with a horizontal brace between the studs. It does seem to have some trouble finding those, but vertical ones, never, it was dead-on. Also, I noticed it did have problems determining stud location in an unfinished wall. Once wallboard was up on both sides, it found them just fine. Not sure why that's the case, I was just playing around with it. But, really, how often do you nedd to "find" a sdid on an unfinished wall (you can just look...)? I love it.

Works great!
This stud finder actually works as advertised. I've had an older brand/style for years that was quite random and ineffective. This one, however, works GREAT! I decided to try it to locate the rafters (2x4s) in my ceiling because I'm installing drywall over popcorn ceiling. I was concerned that it might not work through that stuff...no worries. It did the job. I also like that with the number of indicator lights you get to see just how wide the stud is.

Amazing!
I have gone through countless brands/types of stud finders. From low end to high end and none of them have ever been that accurate or consistent. Honestly, the cheaper ones have been the best, but still never that good. Which didn't make any sense to me, because it's such a simple tool... We can remote ATV on Mars while taking selfies, but making a tool that can consistently find a piece of wood behind a half inch of drywall seems to have us confused and bewildered. That is until now! It is the future and Mr. Franklin is proving it with his ProSensor 710+! I was skeptical at first, because it looks like my little nephews handheld metal detecter that came with his Walmart Toy Spy Kit he got seven Christmases ago. But man was I wrong. This is unreal and unbelievably accurate and easy to use. You don't have to start sliding it first or reset and start over or any of those things you feel you shouldn't ever have to do anyways, because we landed on the moon almost 50 years ago! It works as if someone said, "Hey, let's make a stud finder that just lights up when there is a stud behind it and you always know where the middle of the stud is due to the three or more LED's lighting up and you don't have to reset it or... well, anything, It. Just. Works. Thank you Franklin and God bless you.

Not a great price, but I wanted to be confident and save time
This thing is pricey, but like all the reviews say, it's the best stud finder I've used. I grew frustrated using the typical stud finder and constantly running it over a wall over and over to ensure where the stud was. This was much quicker and more reliable. The ruler and level are handy as well. Helps in marking out an area when mounting something to studs. It doesn't help to just know one spot, you need to know the whole area. It's expensive, but I got so sick of being unsure. Those days are over

Best stud-finder I've ever used!
Over twenty years or so I've used the common stud-finders (under different brand names) you find at Lowe's and Home Depot and have always found them lacking. They typically don't give repeatable indications as to where a stud starts and ends (frustrating!), and I've typically ended up relying tap-soundings to locate the likely stud center. Enter the Franklin: this gem is the real deal. It's amazingly accurate, and repeated measuring yields identical results. Da bomb.

Love this thing!
Works very well, this unit takes out 100% of the guess work that other electronic stud finders I own leave. I watched a few YouTube videos on tips and tricks for using this unit, I thought is was great before the videos but after the videos this thing is excellent! Very accurate and shows multiple studs at the same time. I did a test with this unit marking the studs with a pencil, then I did a test one foot above those marks and the placement of the marks was identical. Best stud finder on the market, as close as I can get to x-ray vision.

Expensive stud finder, but well worth the money
You know I was hesitant for a long time about buying this stud finder simply because I didnt want to spend 54 bucks on a stud finder. It just seems like a lot of money for a stud finder, but I am so happy I finally took the plunge. I will just say since I have been using this stud finder. I have not missed a stud yet. Love how it shows you exactly where the studs are edge to edge. Its easy to use. Simply hold down the button put it on the wall and start sliding it around until it lights up. The spirit level isnt necessary for me but it is nice to have. I no longer have qualms about spending this much on a stud finder
