FREEDOM!!!! Lol
So.... I've been thinking about trying these things for a while now. Years ago I used Instead SoftCups which I loved, but were so messy... Ewww. So after much research and debate I decided upon The Pixie Cup! And so glad I did! First things first, I'm 32 w/o offspring (I have kids, but they ain't come from me!) So I couldn't decide which size to get which is why I choose the combo pack. Okay, so the first day of shark 🦈 week is mainly the sharks getting a feel of the water. Not too much activity, maybe some hors d'oeuvres, but oh boy is there a feeding frenzy on day 2 well into day 3, and then they get a little lazy and just kinda go away by day 5. I just got my cups yesterday right in time for day 3 and went with the small because I wasn't sure of the size. And I could feel it the whole time... And when I engaged my PF muscles it felt similar to when your tampon slips and drops down. (IKR, eww) And I kept feeling it. Everyone says you aren't supposed to feel it. But amazingly, no leaks! But because I was conscious of it I would empty it every time I went to the bathroom 😐. So this morning I tried the larger size, and oh boy! FREEDOM! I can't feel a thing! Not even when I "bear down" really hard! So, I think I'm just not pushing the small into place as high which is why I can feel it so. I don't know, but I'm gonna wear it all day and do my regular thing and see what happens, or nah! L😂L Hope this helps someone! I'm an avid review reader myself and always value the little tips and tricks!

Life changer for me
Omg this cup has changed my life. Where was this 10yrs ago. I'm a heavy flow person and would use pads and tampons together and still spill over and stain. With this cup it's all i need and just a light pad. I can sleep all night now, sneeze cough and have no accidents. I never have to use tampons again. Thank You!

Does great for bigger girls too!!!!
Wish I had gotten one sooner. I'm going to try and make this detailed without making it too TMI. I've been looking into menstrual cups for about a month. I'm a big girl (250+), so was a tad intimidated. Would it work, would I lose it, would I be able to properly position it. I tried the softcups, years ago, and that was a placement disaster and I didn't really want to go through a repeat of that experience. Thankfully, this was NOT a repeat of that. These have made that time...just a little less disgusting. Placement: It can be a little intimidating, I never heard a "pop" when it was in right. I inserted gave the stem a bit of a wiggle and pulled down lightly. If I felt resistance, I figured I had a good seal going on up in there, and I must have because leakage was not too much of an issue. Leaks: They still..kind of happen, I'd recommend using a liner until you get to expert level on placement. However, it was nothing like what I experience with tampons or pads. I actually went an entire period without having to toss clothes directly into the washer. Flow Handling: Now, I have a very heavy flow and this did fairly well. During heavy flow days even with the large cup, I had to change it out every 4 hours, though it did handle overnight like a dream. In fact, it was that first wake up in the morning on a heavy flow day that totally sold me on these. If you have that first getting out of bed morning problem on heavy days, you know what I'm talking about. Wake up with confidence girls, this thing had it covered. Removal: While the cup sits up in there and you will get friendly with your girly bits, it never got lost. The stem on these is pretty sturdy, though you don't actually want to use it completely for removal. Some people cut theirs off, I had no problem with it remaining where it was. I'd use it to gently (GENTLY) wiggle the cup down enough I could firmly grab the base and pull it the rest of the way out. Ick Factor: There is no way to permanently remove the ick factor from this time of the month. These won't do that, though you will have to deal with it less often. Yes, I did get some blood on my hands, but truthfuly, no more than when I'd have to go finding the string of a stubborn tampon, and because of how well it handled my flow, there was no mess on my clothes, panties, and frankly, no mess in the trash. I got the combo pack, I used the small on my first and last day. It is a firmer cup and it seems to pop open easier. (at least easier to tell it did). The large cup still worked great. They do have an extra large cup, but when I went to finally order, it was sold out and unavailable. Should it become available, I'd probably buy and try that. All in all this is top notch for the price, if you're thinking about trying a cup, I think these are grade A for the price and it'd let you know if this is the right thing for you before investing more money in one of the other brands.

Quite Nice!
UPDATE: The Pixie customer service is amazing! After reviewing initially about the uncomfortable stem, they offered me their alternative cup to try.

Longtime Cup User, New to Pixie Cup
I've been a Diva Cup user for years, but since having 2 children over a span of 2 years, my small model no longer fit correctly, so it was time to upgrade. After seeing the tons of positive reviews for the Pixie Cup, I figured I'd give it a shot. This is my first cycle using the Pixie Cup, and so far I'm impressed. Insertion is exactly like the Diva Cup (fold in half to insert and twist to seal). The cup fits and seals well, so I haven't experienced any leaks yet. I think the Pixie is slightly less rigid than the Diva, which is nice as far as it being easier to use. I've read other women say that they had difficulty with the inflexibility of the Diva Cup when learning how to use it, so the Pixie might be a better option for first time cup users. Just as with my Diva Cup, I did have to trim the stem down to almost nothing for it to be comfortable. It takes a little more effort, but pinching the cup to remove is not very difficult. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase so far!

My new favorite cup!
I have been a long time cup user, and I was so excited to come across the Pixie. The huge appeal is the affordable price point. I have known to lose one from time to time. And now I am not nearly as mad. Buying a cup as a back-up or as a gift is even better when then it's about half the price as others. I was concerned about it how it stood up compared to other cups given the price. After some rigorous testing, I was so happy to find out that that it wa unfounded. It it durable and holds up. I like how the sizing works as well, based on flow. Now to the good stuff. It does not leak! That's very important. It is easy to get a good seal. It held up to some serious hiking and traveling. I like the shape of it. It was a slimmer feel to me, which I really appreciated. And I love that I can't feel it (although, it's easy to forget it's in then!). Bonus, I love the mission. Knowing the struggle that other people struggle with dealing with menstruation, I love the buy one, give one program. The color is another bonus. I never gave it much thought, but now that I have it, I love it. It seems to age so much more nicely than translucent. A small but very nice feature. The carrying bag is a great color. It's so easy to spot. It also came with wipes, which I love having in my bag as a back-up. Overall, I am very happy with my Pixie Cup. It's definitely my new go-to for myself and for gifts!

Amazing! I've been converted!
UPDATE: I have had this cup for 6 months now, and it has definitely paid for itself! I am massively impressed, although I will be switching to the larger size because I have freakishly heavy periods. This cup is amazing. I was hesitant because I tried disposable softcups, which were an absolute failure. I was terrified of leaking every time I sneezed. I finally decided to try it, and I had my first leak-free period ever. There is a pretty steep learning curve to using the cup, and it takes a few tries to feel confident in your placement. Once I had it in though, I almost forgot it was there. It's soft enough to not be noticeable, but firm enough to maintain its shape. It was incredibly easy to clean as well, though I don't care for the included wipes. I would recommend the small size to anyone trying the cup for the first time. I would consider my flow to be very heavy (I can go through a Super Plus tampon in 3 hours on bad days), and I never filled the cup completely.

Don’t hesitate—try it
Having PCOS means I never know what’s going to happen. I never know if this “cycle” will be heavy or light, painful or intolerable. I bought the Pixie cup after using all of the “organic” products out there. Surprise...using organic was no different than using the chemical-filled tampons and pads I was used to using. Knowing I could measure my flow *much* more accurately and save a ton of money at the same time really sold me on the menstrual cup. I was also able to eliminate some of the discomfort since I wasn’t shoving cotton up my vag. Full disclosure: I originally ordered the Blossom Cup, and found the silicone was a little firm, and my husband ended up accidentally throwing it away before I could use it. The Pixie is much softer and incredibly easy to insert and remove. I was able to master it on the first try due to in-depth instructions included with the cup. Knowing that every cup purchased contributes one to a woman in need really sealed the deal for me. If you’re considering switching to a cup—-do it. The transition is easy. I found peace of mind, I’m saving about $20(+/-) a month, and I don’t think I’ll ever switch to disposable products again.

Good Cup @ A Good Price
This cup is extremely comfortable. Pixie Luxe is on the "softer side" and is easy to insert with the proper fold. (For me personally the punch down fold worked like a charm) In fact, my cup is so comfortable that I forget that I'm wearing it which is nice. I would not recommend this cup this cup for someone with extremely strong vaginal walls, athletic, or inexperienced to menstrual cups because you need to practice and work with this cup due to it's lack of firmness. Since the cup isn't painfully rigid as the leading cup on the market it isn't going to just magically pop open for most users initially, unless you find the right fold and work at it in order to make it work for you. If your willing to practice and give it a chance for at least 3 cycles it's a great value! The shade of blue is very pretty, although I wish there were more color options to choose from. The company is based in the U.S. and these cups are made with a great quality medical grade silicone, which is a plus! I love how the stem is rounded off and not pokey, so trimming wasn't necessary as with other cups I own. I use my cup on my first day and last day of my cycle seeing how it is the small size. Even with an average/medium flow I can get a good 4-5 hours with the small before needing to empty it out. Over all I'm very pleased with my cup and am happy with it. The Pixie Luxe has been a Godsend especially on CD 1 when I'm extremely crampy and needing something effective, but yet gentle. I was given this cup to try from the company and my review is honest. Would I recommend this cup to my friends? The answer is yes.👍

Descriptive, honest review. How my 1st time went.
First time mensural cup user here. Here’s my Day 1 experience. First thoughts: everyone says it’s super soft and on the surface it is, but I thought it was pretty firm while I was squishing it if that makes sense. I did boil it just for a few minutes. I bought a size small (light-regular flow) I wanted to try it In my home until I got the hang of it so I waited until my first night of being on my period to wear it while I sleep. 1st try inserting it I decided to use fold #2 because the other seemed big when I realized the I had to really stick my finger inside of my vagina to guide it in. (Side note: if you have long nails this could hurt a little but as long as you adjust your finger while inserting to be angled lower, and not in a stabbing position it helps. But it’s easier said than done. I’ve been able to do it) So as I’m inserting it in for the first time, I didn’t really put my fingers entirely inside of me, causing me to let go of the fold in the cup making it open right at the entrance of my vagina which F***n hurt. 2nd try: this time I really put my fingers in me with the cup guiding it in: passed my first little knuckle of my index finger, almost to the second knuckle, while my other hand is holding my lips (Libia?) open. With my index finger slipping off, I push up with my other fingers so the cup can go higher and as it unfolded inside of me I heard a suction sound. Awesome! It does feel a little weird (if your an active tampon user, it feels like a fully expanded tampon inside of you) and the stem part was sticking out a good ways still (but I’ve read you shouldn’t cut it so I’m not. I ended up pushing it further inside of me as I laid down which didn’t hurt and kinda took away that full tampon feeling a little). I felt around the base after inserting it as much as I can since it does hurt to feel around inside of me with my nails. I thought it was good. Didn’t feel an indentation, So I laid down, woke up early to use the restroom and i definitely leaked out some blood. As I began the process to take it out, I reached for the stem, it was definitely deeper in me which I assumed was good to prevent leaking, so I lightly pulled the stem and used my vagina muscles to push it out. Once I got a good grip of the base of the stem, I pinched the base of the cup and started to wiggle it out. “Breaking the seal” kinda hurts. Because that whole suction effect, it sucks more before releasing. Well anyways I continued to pull out and saw I filled it up to the halfway mark so I’m not really sure why I leaked. I inserted it again, heard the suction inside of me, this time I did feel an indention and i wiggled it around and tried rotating a little until I didn’t feel it anymore. Laid back down, woke up, more leaking, pulling it out was a little harder than the first time, I was freaking out a little lol but I got it out. Filled it halfway again, poured it out and washed it with hand soap and that’s it for today. My first day I’m usually heavy but I only filled it up half way both times. Which looks like a lot still. The whole cleaning process, honestly I have no idea how I’m gonna do this in a public bathroom. It is pretty messy but I’m going to continue to try it because I’m DONE buying pads and tampons. I’m DONE creating so much pollution. So if I can’t solve this whole leaking situation, I’ll definitely invest in reusable cloth pads I’ve seen sold on amazon. They seem really cool and since I plan on continuing using this cup, they’ll pretty much just act as back up liners. I’ll try to remember to post again if I figure out any more helpful tips. In the end, as gross and uncomfortable as it may be, I’ll put myself through it to save on money and reduce my trash. *wanted to add this since after taking it out after my first night and using a regular tampon during the day, the inside of my vagina hurts and I can’t tell if it’s cramps or from the cup. Maybe it’s a little too big for me since I am a small person, 5’1” 110 lbs, but if you’ve ever had to pull out a tampon after inserting it and it’s still dry and you can feel rub against the walls of your uterus, THATS how I feel right now. It rubs against the walls and it does hurt a little and idk if this is normal or if it’ll get better in time or if I need to get an even smaller size! But it wouldn’t explain the leaking. Hope this review helps and I hope someone can confirm these feelings. Thanks! **later in day update: I feel better; that feeling only lasted for two-three hours. Gonna try it again tonight. *** update: I’m 6 months in of using this cup, it’s taken me this long and reading back to update everyone on it. The fingernail problem isn’t a problem anymore, the insertion isn’t bad. To make sure I don’t have the indentation I pull on it slightly and listen for it to suck in air and fully expand. The deeper, the more comfortable. I still struggled with leakage because of my blood clots (slimy bloody goo) works it’s way around the cup sometimes so I bought two cloth pads on Etsy for $3 each. I love them. The cup works great for the most part. I recommend you don’t leave it in for more than 10 hours. It’s a smell preference lol I’ve saved over 140 tampons/pads in the 6 months I’ve used the cup. And money! I like it. Trust me it gets easier I using it. I am considering on tying other cups hat to have something to compare it to. Like i said before, it is firm and I would like something a little softer but idk if that would effect the performance. That’s all I got for ya. Try it fo yourself girl. ✨
