installed them asap and it's been couple weeks driving my truck for 45 minutes to work everyday and they work perfect. No more burnt wires causing miss fires
This is exactly what I needed to protect my spark plug wires from my headers ... I bought these couple months ago, installed them asap and it's been couple weeks driving my truck for 45 minutes to work everyday and they work perfect. No more burnt wires causing miss fires. Glad I found these and for cheap price. Would highly recommend this to anyone having problems with their wires getting burnt by headers.

Beware, Only Fits Smaller Plug Wires
I originally had a set of FAST 180-deg wires, and these did NOT fit at all. Especially with that stupid metal ring in the way. But, after switching to Taylor 135-deg wires, these worked perfectly! Too bad the engine isn't even in the car yet, lol. I'll update if they melt on my manifolds, or not.

Great price too as summt brand are event twice as ...
had melted my brand new plug wires and these boots are currently saving my new wires. They work. I have one of the wires that has no choice but to lay against the header and its still protected. Great price too as summt brand are event twice as much.

Melted spark plug wire boot solution
I will buy these spark plug heat boot protectors for all my 4 cars. Originally I bought it for my 89 Mustang GT because all those foxbody Mustangs create a lot of heat that affect all electrical components and wires. However, I actually used them on my newly rebuilt engine for my 1991 4runner v6 whose spark plug wire design is very close to the manifolds which melted the boots on the original spark plug wires including some of the wire insulation. The boot hole entries has a thick metal wire that is difficult to slip into the boots. I used 3M silicone grease that I also bought here in Amazon to lube the whole boot on each spark plug wire & I also lubed the inner boot entry of the boot heat protector. Even after doing this, it was still hard to slip in the boot heat protector on to each boot of the spark plug wire. I admit, it's a little pricey but it's worth it cus if you had the experience of burning & melting a spark plug boot or the wire rubber insulation, to figure out what is malfunctioning in your car can have you chasing your own tail. In addition, water and moisture will creep into each boot or the wire itself leaving you stranded on your car on foggy days, rainy days, or in the summer heat.

Worked great on my 1990 C1500 with a 6.0 swap
If you're going to use these on an LS, a quick snip of the metal ring at the unsewn edge will make installation simple. These are way cheaper than the "LS specific" ones and work just as well especially with headers.

Excellent Heat Protection
These boot sleeves provide excellent heat protection to spark plug wires especially on engines with exhaust headers. The thick nylon type material is long enough to protect spark plug wires as it nears the header or exhaust manifold helping to increase longevity of wire and maintain maximize spark for as long as you keep your vehicle.

Need to remove the boot on the spark plug wire.
No install instructions. I spent a little time trying to shove the wire and 90 degree boot through the sleeve and it was not happening. I figured out how to install the sleeves by removing the boot from the spark plug wire. Was a breeze. I inserted the sleeve with the white stitching on the spark plug end which allowed the sleeve to slide over the spark plug boot.

Seems good so far
Seems good so far. If the ring doesn't fit over your application, use some needle nose pliers to expand the ring to suit your needs (it's not a solid ring). Used on a CTS-V, so far so good. Time will tell.

They fit perfect!!
Outstanding product and great heat shield. Nothing to dislike. The bad reviews are from people who don't know how to properly fit these over the wire. The correct way is to slip the large end (with the white stitching) over the boot. Then carefully slip the ringed end over the boot that connects to the sparkplug. The small end expands then compresses against the boot once it's on. It's not hard to do at all and is very secure. I also zip tied the stitched end over the wire to secure it further.

Good stuff.
Ordered these for a solution to burning spark plug wires. They arrived when stated and as described. I purchased these over some of the others offered on here because a previous review stated these had rings that you could expand slightly to get them over assembled 90 degree boots. I can verify he or she was right. These were a quick and painless installation on a sbc, so I'll be recommending these to a few of my buddies.
