Very nice light but make sure it's tall enough.
This is a great light for the price. It's very bright, can change the color from cold white to warm yellow in 5 setting and brightness plus you can aim it at different angles, tilt the light bar up and down, turn the light assembly left and right, rotate the light bar clockwise and counter clockwise. It's clean looking, looks modern, it matches with Apple products nicely and folds down when not in use leaving just the vertical piece. Be aware the light head is not very high, the light bar is about the same height as a computer monitor. This was not a problem for me but it would have been better if it was taller. We've only had this for a couple weeks, so far so good. time will tell if the LED emitter and driver will last,

I think I'm in love with this lamp.
This is without a doubt the greatest lamp I have ever purchase in my life. My husband was all like, "Hmm I hope that works okay." Then I turned it on and he nearly cried due to his amazement. He then declared that we should fill our house with these and I am completely supportive. Here is why this lamp is so boss: 1: It is extremely versatile; it bends and twists in many different ways. 2: It is extremely easy to use. Right out of the box, I was able to figure out how to work everything without ever reading the instructions. 3: It can be super bright or natural (almost dim). Plus, you can change the warmth of the color, from bright white/blue to a relaxing almost sepia tone which is easier on the eyes at night. 4: it has a USB port, so I can charge my phone from my art desk without needing another outlet. Trust me--just buy this lamp. It truly is the bomb dot com.

A memorial to a lamp lost.
Two things are important to me. First, a product listed should be honest and as described. This lamp is. I bought it to replace a desk lamp that decided it had had enough Barry Manilow and Sade, therefore taking its own life by taking a nose dive off of the desk onto the cold hard tile, head first. This lamp stepped up, stepped in, and ignored the broken pieces of the life lived prior to its assuming the role. So far, it’s bright rays have helped us memorialize the departed. On days we need to really forget, it’s brightness shines at full blast. On mellow days where we mourn the tragic, it stands by patiently at a lower setting. The second thing I look for is good customer service. Having received an email to remind us that this brave little lamp has stepped up, I write this review. All in all, both expectations of my internet shopping experience have been helpful in forgetting the little lamp that just couldn’t anymore. In summary, if you have a little lamp that can’t take it anymore, this is a suitable replacement.

Great Light: Works Well, and Sturdy Build
I bought this 3 months ago, and have been using it almost daily. If you're like me, you're probably accustomed to either a) no desklight whatsoever, or b) a searingly bright 40W bulb inches from your face. This represents a quantum leap from either of those scenarios. Yep, 80's TV reference right there. But anyways, Literally the best desk light I have ever had. Since you can read the description for the features, let me share what you can't get anywhere else: My experience using this light: + Have been using it almost daily, and it still works. + Truly flexible, Truly dimmable, feels very durable - The on/off is touch-operated... it could be faster to turn off (a long-press turns it off). RECOMMENDATION to Users: Mount on a book or a stand. That way, the light comes from higher up. Mine is elevated by an additional 8" over my desk, which allows it to cast a broader span of light.

Really pleased overall, pretty adjustable, both in light and in position. USB charge port a bonus!
I bought these for my wife's work desk and my home office. The color temperature controls and the intensity controls are nice, and having the extra USB charge port on the back is nice for charging a phone, MP3 player, whatever. Super bright when needed, but adjustable for all other times. The head swivels along the long axis over the desk so if your desk is a bit high, you don't have the light right in your eyes as you can tilt it away. The whole arm rotates over the desk so you can use it as a work light if you need more detail on something close up. Runs pretty cool too, which is great in the summer, and having a bright light close to daylight in the winter is awesome! Really pleased with this light.

Well worth the money!
This lamp is truly awesome, especially for the price point. It's so adjustable and can be fully customized based on use. You can bend it, angle it, turn it, and you can adjust the the shade of lighting as well as brightness. It's clean lines and takes up minimal desk space too. I plan on ordering more for my kids.

The best lamp ever
The best lamp ever. Seriously. I have one for my office, and one for my 7-year-old son’s room. My other son wants one for late night reading so I will have three soon. I use the one in my office on daylight mode and bounce the light off the wall so it looks like I have a window. I use the USB port to charge my phone at my desk without plugging it into my computer. In my kids room I put it on the warmest hue which it is the color of candle-light. He won’t go to sleep if the light is too dark, so we leave it on bright and then dim it all the way down to night-light brightness after he falls asleep.

The arm extends, the head pivots, the light color and brighness are adjustable, and the price is right
My desk lamp with an articulating arm and pivoting head was sort of reliable. It could be adjusted to point its screw-in 60W light bulb in various directions and the arm could be extended or retracted to a desired distance. However, one day I was trying to get the head to pivot while I was extending the arm, and the head snapped off in my hand. Its pivot was made of plastic, and not repairable. I was not happy, but not too sad either, since the adjustable arm was spring loaded and would not usually stay where I put it. Also, the pivoting head had a tendency to droop and point the light toward the floor instead of the desired place that needed illumination. The search for a replacement began. I wanted a light with LED bulbs instead of replaceable screw-in bulbs. Other desirable features included the ability to point the light in a particular direction and the ability to adjust brightness. I also wanted a desk lamp with a base, rather than a lamp with a clamp. No floor lamps need apply, either. Amazon has many options that fit these requirements, and at a wide range of prices. After looking at dozens of options, I finally selected the TaoTronics LED lamp that I am reviewing. Amazon rated it as a best seller, and it gets pretty good reviews. How could I go wrong? In fact, I did not go wrong. The lamp has the coolest way to adjust brightness - slide my finger across a series of circles on the base to brighten or dim the output. And the feature to adjust the warmth or coolness of the light was an unexpected bonus. Sure, I read that the feature is included, but I didn't think I would care one way or another. However, it is a very nice feature. Something else that helped me with my choice is that the head pivots. Thus, I can move the arm to extend the lamp forward, then pivot the head so that the LED strip illuminates to the side rather than only downward. I had found another desk lamp at Amazon that was made of aluminum instead of plastic, but the head did not pivot, and the light would always point down. That lamp lost out to this TaoTronics. Several reviewers comment that the base could be heavier. I agree. However, adjusting the angle and extension is not really a big deal, so I do not ding the lamp for this aspect. Finally, the price is low. The combination of features and price made this lamp a true winner. I use it daily, and I couldn't be happier.

Top purchase, easy to use and worth every penny!
It's one of my top purchase on Amazon: the quality exceeds the price so much! I'm a grad school student and spend almost whole day in front of my study desk either reading or working on my computer; I hate my previous cheap lamp from Walmart because the light is yellow, sharp, and it makes my space so hot...so I decide to spend a little more on this LED desk lamp. What I like about the lamp: First of all it came well-packaged but not overly wrapped, no need to assemble and ready to use right out of the box. The design is minimalist and thoughtful. 1)You can either plug it in as usual or use a USB charging 2)It's flexible to bend the main body of the lamp and the lamp part 3)It's LED so not only it doesn't heat up like light bulb but lasts longer, also the light is thus soft and not eye-hurting 4)There are 10 level of brightness and all you have to do is just slide lightly on the panel 5)When I bought this I didn't notice there are 4 modes for different scenarios! It's awesome! Brightest white light, soft white light, even softer warm light, and soft yellow warm light. You can switch by simply tapping the sign on the panel(it's really a smart design, simple and sensitive)for desktop reading, night lamp, etc. 5) It's in small size not taking lots of space but provides very good brightness. 6)it's so light! You can literally take it anywhere in the house you like! 7)the control panel only has 2 things: mode and brightness level, not complicated and super easy even for elderly or kids. What I don't like about this lamp: Nothing much because I absolutely love this lamp, just a small inconvenience: the plug is a bulky one which takes/blocks 2 outputs on my 6-output extension cord. I highly recommend this lamp!

$50 for a stellar, daylight-white LED lamp? Yes please!
I'm very sensitive to off-white lights and to flourescents/incadescents. LEDs are awesome but it's hard to find really good, clean LED lamps for a good price. This is one. The Good: Bright. Bright bright BRIGHT. At full bright, it's a bit painful to look right at the bulbs directly, and the color is a brilliant 6000K+ white. Can I rate it officially? No. But it compares favorably with my very expensive 6500K CFLs, and the emitter is rated for 410L, though I think it gets perhaps a bit less than that; probably 400 lumens if the LEDs were all focused in one spot, though. There's an array of LEDs in a line behind an opaque screen- there are no weird dark spots or faded areas and you can only really see them if you're making an effort to look up into the hood. It's a brilliant and consistent oval of light. The arm rotates up and down, forward and back, and pivots left and right, so it's effortless to get it to illuminate a large desk. It gives you at least 24" of reach over center from the base of the arm, and it won't fall over no matter how you position it, though it might lean if you get really creative about angles and elevation. You've got a 1-10 scale for brightness that is touch-sensitive and scales very nicely from soft to full illumination- you can leave it one 1 for mood lighting or gradually bring it to 10 for reading, or turn it off entirely. The one-touch option for turning the light temperature from white to yellow is a very nice touch for reading in the evening without being kept up overlate by the white LEDs. The DC adapter is colored to go with it, and as a nice bonus touch, there's a USB port behind the stem for charging phones or other devices. The manual suggests it's a 5V/1.2A, which is a 'standard' USB 2.0 power level for charging almost any device safely, if slowly. It feels well made and the hinges are quite and tight-fitted so there's no slop or creaking. The use of aluminum here and there gives it a very polished and sturdy feel. You can shut the LED stem when not in use so it's just a vertical white stick, giving it a streamlined look; you can fold the base flat against the arm for easier storage. The best zone for reading with the LED's parallel to the base is about 18" away from center. The Bad: The base could be a little heavier/stickier so that it doesn't move when you adjust the light angle, and it'd be nice if the DC adapter was 'nested' somewhat so it wasn't so protrusive looking. It is off-center from the base, too, so it feels like an afterthought. The packaging, while nice, was way, way excessive; it's packed in dense, non-recyclable foam and there's no reason to have a sturdy plastic handle built into the box. I'd really prefer to get this shipped in more eco-friendly materials. Improvements: Adding in a removeable filter might appeal to some people; making the base stickier so it won't flex or wiggle would be nice, too. The base could be a V-shape instead of a circle, so it folds even flatter and lower profile. Finally, the DC adapter really should be hidden slightly under the base, the exposed cord outlet is a bit against the otherwise aesthetically pleasing lines. TL;DR: It's an awesome light. Plain and simple. It's not a brassy ornamental thing; it's functional and well priced, and it happens to be nice to look at with nice metal touches. Perfect for a home office, for a guest room, anywhere that doesn't need to be 'on display'. Two of them easily illuminates a 4' work desk well enough to read easily at night.
