I am horrible at grilling
I am horrible at grilling...I burn things and I dry out the meat. So far I have used this three times and everything comes out juicy and amazingly delicious.

at 60# just the right size to take along ... Traeger on the road is great.
Small but mighty...I bought this to take along on RV trips... very nice unit This is my second Traeger the serial number on my first Traeger is # 307 I bought in the early 90's... I recently replaced the controls which restored a new life to an old favorite... so I now have two GREAT Traeger grills life is sweet. I will say the quality of the old Traeger build is pretty impressive... not that the new is bad it is just that the old is better... love them both.

Verdict so far is good grill...
I’ve had a chance to use this grill several times and now feel as though I can give it a thorough and honest review. I’ve cooked chicken, pork chops, steak and pizza. The results were pretty good. Assembly was very easy and I did run into an issue with the grates needing to be replaced. I think the manufacturer listened to the feedback in reviews and I had a very pleasant experience. There were no issues getting the parts. They made everything rather simple, so great job Robert! I noticed that it’s difficult to keep the temps up; however that did not impact the cooking time in the cookbook provided and everything cooked rather well but it’s a set it and forget it grill, so if you keep opening the lid you will lose heat. That’s really important when you’re cooking steak. I did not have any issues with flare ups but contribute that success to two things 1) you really have to keep the grill out of the rain, it does have electrical parts after all 2) you really need to follow the initial firing instructions on the green sheet and when it runs completely out of pellets, although I did successfully fire it up just using the smoke function one time when I ran out in the middle and caught it quickly. Comments about the quality of parts. I think I read some comments about the powder coating. I wonder if they didn’t realize the smoke residue left behind wipes off easily. Don’t know but I really didn’t notice any issues. Some parts were kind of bent but didn’t impair function and this is really more of an entry level pellet grill, so if you adjust your expectations accordingly, I think you’ll be pleased. Expect your grill to get some dents and dings here and there and that’s fine. It’s not intuitive and the cookbook says to let it get hot enough before adding meat but if you do that, it may not have a nice smoker flavor, so you may have to fiddle with the cooking times a bit to build in smoking time towards the beginning or end. Otherwise cooking time seemed to be spot on and meat was moist and tender, even though it doesn’t reach the temps it still was done when the cook book said it would be done. Verdict so far is good grill.

AWESOME!
The first one that was delivered had been used ... VERY used. Called Amazon customer service and a brand new one was shipped out within two days. Was promised Saturday delivery at no charge (next day) but it didn't come. Called customer service again, and I received my new one in two days. So far this smoker is fabulous! There is a learning curve, and this is not a "set it and forget it" smoker. You have to make sure you don't run out of pellets as the smoker will shut down. Tried a pork butt, but I wasn't watching it close enough, so I had to finish it in the oven. Still delicious. Next made some boneless skinless chicken breasts which turned out wonderfully. Be sure to follow the start up instructions EXACTLY.. I didn't and had a fire in the box. I did not let the smoker go for the full 10 minutes before putting the food on, which left some unburned (is that a word?) pellets that caught fire. No big deal, but wanted to share my experience.; I would absolutely recommend this smoker for a small household. One thing I forgot to mention ... there is a grate over the pellet box that makes it difficult to remove unused pellets. I just took the grate off and it worked great!

I love my Traeger!
What can I say about this smoker except that it is the best money I’ve spent on anything in a while. I don’t even need a barbeque anymore. I use this thing at least a few times a week for just about anything. If i can grill it, I use the Traeger. Bacon wrapped asparagus, steaks, chicken, fish, burgers, hot dogs, you name it, I’ll cook it on this thing. I get a 27 lb bag of Traeger pellets from Costco and it lasts me a fw months. The bags of pellets are big, but I prefer that to lugging cans of propane around. This thing is dummy proof. The only suggestion I have for new users is to increase the smoke setting time by one integer because on the default setting my pellets would flame out. Just read the manual and you’ll figure it out. It’s easy.

Oh the tasty things you’ll make
This specific model has a known issue and doesn’t have the traeger “p” smoke setting so one of the first things you do is call traeger and have them send you a replacement thermostat and then you install it and adjust the p setting accordingly and you’re good to go, it takes a little getting used to but once you have the hang of it you’ll wonder why you didn’t start smoking all your meals years ago. It’s really convenient to just throw some burgers in and walk away for 10 minutes then come Back to delicious food if I do that with my bbq I come back to some charcoal burgers that you couldn’t pay me to eat all in all I really like this little Smoker I wish it was a little Bigger but it will work for now

OMG Awesome Grill
We had for years the regular traeger and recently for our RV decided to get the little version. Awesome cooking so far. Very similar results, very reliable, excellent heat distribution. We also tried in in our offroad trailer running out of batteries / solar panel and a inverter.. since this traeger uses so little energy, it runs for hours no problem.

This is our second Traegar Grill and we absolutely love it. It gets hotter that our first one so we enjoy steaks on it now. Best grill we have ever owned. I would strongly recommend anyone looking at a grill/smoker combo to give this one a try.

Did not seem like I used any excess pellets
Highs in the teens for the last couple of weeks. Been smoking outside. Keeps the heat inside the smoker at a fairly constant degree. Did not seem like I used any excess pellets. If you want outdoor cooking year round, this is a must buy.

Update blanket review...
Decided to truely test our blanket. Outside temp 29 deg, wind chill 10 deg. Winds sustained at 21 mph with gusts to 33. Started by smoking a pork tenderloin for 2.5hrs. Held its temp around 155-160 deg. Then grilled at 350 deg for 30 min. Grill worked perfectly. See all pics. First pic is temp outside, next 2 are smoking then the last couple grilling.
