Secondary use for very practical tool.

I like them so much I have since ordered two more sets to give to friends. I am going to use them as placecards for Christmas dinner and each will get theirs to keep. Not fancy, but fun. They were so well received, everyone loved them and were thrilled to take them home. I am sure they will get as much use out of them as I do mine.

Spread the word and the mayo

Are you still using a table knife for spreading cream cheese or mayo? Blade too narrow? Handle too skinny? Are you destroying your bagel trying to split it (even pre-cut bagels have to be opened). Well, look no more. This spreader has a dull-but-serrated edge to neatly open that bagel or English muffin, a wide blade so you can really schmear a big gob of that wonderful cream cheese and a smooth handle that is comfortable to hold. Handle is attached with brass rivets and the wood looks like it has been plasticized but I have been hand-washing to prevent water damage. And, you get four spreaders. What's not to like?

Attractive utensil. Natural wooden handle. Good weight and fits in the hand comfortably. Serrated edge cuts through blocks of cheese easily. Slices, quarters and eighths apples and pears. Ideal for applying various spreads onto to crackers or bread.Perfect for getting that last little bit of peanut butter or jelly out of the bottom of the near-empty jar. I hand-wash these. Not sure if the wooden handle would keep deep, rich appearance after dishwasher experience.

very pleased with the spreaders

I have an old and dear LL Bean spreader that's starting to get a little worn, so when I saw these, I was only looking for another, not four...but at this price, and having read the reviews, thought what the heck?...very pleased with the spreaders, and as mentioned by others, a much more substantial product than one would expect for the money!...a little stiffer than expected, but better that then flimsy...

One of the year's best products

These are larger than the usual spreader--somewhat between a spreader and a spatula--and I was a bit surprised at their size. Now, however, I find loads of uses for them. The serrated edge of the blade comes in handy. If there is one thing I would like to see improved upon, it is the quality of the wooden handle which dries out quickly and within just a few washings, becomes very dull looking. I hand wash them but this doesn't help. Having said that, this is one of the best products I have found in 2018.

One is good but four are better!

Very good quality steel. I used a file and a motorized knife sharpener to put an edge on the back side. Now all are all purpose tools. One of the handles roughened up and lost some of it's color (on one side only) after passing thru the dishwasher . I rubbed it with oil after smoothing the wood with a oscillating sander. Other than the difference in color it works great and passes thru the washer without any additional fading or roughening. The steel used is harder than the usual soft stainless and holds an edge very well. A big cup of coffee with a section of Farmer's Sausage (from Sam's Club) and my handy double edged utility knife/ spreader and a quick B'fast/snack is done and gone............not exactly like the knights of old eating with their knives/daggers but it works for me!

I bought two different kinds of butter spreaders. The competitor with the yellow/orange handle, and these. These are by far the better spreaders. Perfect actually. No complaints.

Sturdy and so convenient--every kitchen needs some

My second time to order these, I loved the first batch so much. Reliable and sturdy and so handy. My parents lived with us a while and my dad kept remarking how great they are for peanut butter (I think he's eaten one PBJ a day for over 70 years). He made such a fuss I ordered this batch as a housewarming gift for them when they moved to their new home!

EXCELLENT Bargain for an Excellent Kitchen Tool!

I was looking for a spreader knife to replace my old Tupperware model, which finally broke. Went to Bed Bath and Beyond to find one and, guess what...they don't carry them! I immediately went to Amazon on my phone right in BB&B and found this remarkable bargain. When I received them (4 spreaders for the price of 1!), I found that they are so well made and they work so well. I can't recommend them more highly, and I am a person who uses this kitchen tool every day. It spreads butter, mayonnaise, etc. easily and then can cut the sandwich or whatever without using a separate knife. It has one side that is serrated for cutting and the other side of the spreader is not serrated. You can also use multiple spreaders for entertaining, if you are serving cheese balls, spreads, etc. If you would like to try a utensil like this, or need to replace the old one you already have, THIS is the set you need.
