Worked well underseat on Delta

traveled with my cat for the first time in our lives. I was so worried about this whole process....and did a lot of research. I ended up using this carrier. I owned a small handle that this sat on so I did not have to carry it...some people said the handle broke so I did not want to take a chance. I had this in my living room all opened up for about a month before the trip and we would play with it (I would toss in toys and she would chase them). She would even sleep in it on her own. So when it came time to travel, she was put in and slept all the way. My hope was that it would fit sideways under my seat but it had to go in lengthwise...but none of that mattered as all 4 sides had screen openings. I used one of those calming collars and she slept comfy without any incident (entered carrier at 12:30p and we let her out at the hotel at 9p). I just had to keep putting in a small dish of water for her when I could. Great travel bag, especially because the sides were soft and collapsable - you could smush it under the seat if you had to. Not for sleeping - just for travel...you would want something they can stand in for long term stays. My cat could sit up and her head touched the top...but she could not stand up.

My Malteses loves It!

This is my 3rd purchase of a similar product. The first was a smaller size when my 2 Malteses were just puppies, 2nd about the same size but only 1 expansion side and my pups loved both of them. So when I saw that they now have 2 expansion sides I decided to buy a 3rd. My pups were so eager to get in the crate when I got it out of the Amazon box! My Maltese are about 8-10lbs each and this sized crate would fit one comfortably but they did try to get in it together lol.

Bag is great and durable and works with Allegiant!

Bag did exactly what I needed. I had questions before I bought it and none of them were answered to my needs. So I thought well, I'll just try it out and hopefully help someone else in my same predicament. The other day I flew with Allegiant Air. Their pet bag requirements say the bag needed to be 9" in height. This bag is 11". I was worried it wasn't gonna fit under the seat, Allegiant wasn't gonna let me use the bag for my flight, it's not bendable enough to fit in a 9" area if I absolutely needed it to, etc. Well, after being set up and ready to transport, the bag isn't really bendable. From a durability standpoint that's good. But what I needed, not so much. Again, the bag is 11" and I needed it to be 9". The description lists Allegiant Air as one of the compatible airlines that this bag works with despite it being too tall in height, which was one of the deciding factors I ended up buying this bag. Anyway, I get to the airport, they don't check the bag's dimensions. I get on the plane, and slide the bag under the seat. There's still about an inch of space in excess above the bag. I'm definitely relieved. So if you're flying Allegiant and are looking for a bag that's big but still works, this one is for you! The top opening is great my dog loved poking her head through it. All the side openings are good. I didn't use them on the plane though. My dog had enough room without opening them. She's a 16.5 lb. Maltichon. All in all worth the price and worked with Allegiant. I would buy it again if I had another dog, and will be using my bag for many times to come on all my future trips.

I went on vacation and the cage worked great it unzips to make more than enough space for my jack russell terrior who is about 16 inch tall and weighs 19 pounds. The cage fit fine on the plane and she was comfortable.

Love this!

Highly recommend! It allows air flow and plenty of room. Both my kitties like to go in there and snuggle up when I have the sides popped out. Only enough room for one cat when sides zipped up but that is exactly what I expected. Great purchase!

The only time I have ever had to use a carrier with my cat, she was traumatized by the experience and I feared I would never get her back into a carrier again. She's a year old and weighs 15 pounds. If she doesn't like something, she'll have no part in it. Upon delivery, she first checked out the box. As I removed the contents, she jumped back and returned for a closer look. I set the carrier down on the floor and expanded both sides, leaving the back zipped closed and the top closed as well. There are zippers on the expanding sides as well. So you can reach in and let the soft interior down without having to risk an escape. It appears to be well made. Zippers, as it is quite common, are made of plastic. The netting is substantial but clearly is not made to withstand any cat with claws and the determination to get out. I left the carrier open and expanded for our Princess to inspect. I was very pleased when she decided it shouldn't go back into the box and out of the house. She explored the interior and made it clear that she was happy with her new spot. We purchased this as means of safe travel with her had we evacuated before a hurricane hit. The fact that it could expand and give our cat room if needed, was a big draw. We left this on our kitchen floor and she rode out the storm in her new carrier. Going so far as to take her favorite mice toys inside of it with her. It is a soft carrier. I believe that because she could see so well out of it, it didn't scare her like the plastic carrier did. I am thrilled with the purchase as much as she is. We've decided to leave it out since she likes it so much. So far, even while playing inside of it, she has not damaged the netting. The bonus gift of a collapsible feeding dish was very nice. I will be ordering this product again, with our Chihuahua in mind and will order more of the travel feeding dishes. If you are going to travel with a pet that has separation issues, this might well be the perfect carrier for your pet too. Be sure to check out the travel litter box as well.

cat gives it 2 paws up

Took my cat on a cat trip 1000 miles and was not looking forward to it. In the past she meowed the whole way. Put her in this. once in the car we unzipped it to give her more room and let me tell you. I had to check a few times to make sure she was in there and still alive because she made no noise. she was just chillin and napping. Now a personal note, there are a boat load of zippers on this thing so make sure before you unzip one you make sure it is not to open the window or something. A few times I was like wrong zipper and if my cat wasn't so comfy she might have gotten out.

Cats have claimed this carrier as their personal bed

I have not carried this on Southwest yet, but I plan to and will update after the trip. I bought this carrier a few months ahead of time to test it out at home. (1) I have 2 large male cats and wanted to see if they could both fit when all sides are zipped up and not expanded. After purchasing one and assessing the size of my cat inside it, I've decided that I will indeed need to buy two carriers. I don't think they would be very happy cooped up together in there. (2) Both of my cats LOVE to lay around on my own luggage if I leave it out. They think my suitcase must be their own personable bed. However, I have an actual cat bed that they refuse to use, probably because I encouraged them to use it when I bought it. Go figure. I wanted to see if they would claim these if I just left them out as a test. Sure enough, they are currently fighting over who gets to use it as a personal cat bed. Hence, I will be buying the second one at the time of this review and leaving it out as well. I don't need to travel with them for another couple of months, so my plan is to let them claim these and get their scent on them before they have to go through the experience of traveling with them. I will be sure to update my review once we really use them, but so far so good!

Life Saver!

This bag is amazing! My cat is 9.5 lbs and can stretch all the way out in it when unfolded and comfortably lay in the center when folded up. He likes it so much he willingly hangs out in it. He had an injury and it was the perfect way to keep him off his feet but not feeling as cooped up as a crate. Plus all the ways you can open the screens allowed for me to pet him easily when stressed without him escaping! It's very sturdy too and folds up for easy storage!
