A long past Art that is a Keeper for the kids. It's a useful skill that enables focus and pride in the results of their craft. Highly recommend this product.

This was purchased for my 10 year old girl. She really loves it. It only has the 4 clay pieces, but you can and will need to buy more. It is creative for them and fun to make then paint. We ran out of clay in two days. the bad - they clay seems to be dryer then it should. So it cracks a lot when making stuff. You need more water then the directions say. It takes longer to dry then the directions say, but that may be because of the extra water we needed. the paint was kind of dry too, but add water and press on. The wheel is probably not needed, but it does add to the fun for the kids.

I know there are reviews out there about the power of this device or how it works. But our 6 year old daughter absolutely loved it. I can remember working on a pottery wheel in middle school and it is not very easy to make cups and bowls and they collapse pretty easily. However, with this kit I like creative approach that they took to include a dome mold in the middle. It is a really practical way to make this easy and fun to use. You basically create the basic shape over the mold, then spray some water and your child can then use their hands for the final shaping. Sure it isn't the most powerful motor, but with the mold approach you don't really need it. The clay discs aren't the cheapest, but they do work well. Long and short I think this is perfect for a 6-8 year old.

Was doubtful this would work but my kids have been busy making cute little pots for 2 days! There's 4 packs of clay included which is a generous amount. Paint is included too. They were able to use this right out of the box if you have batteries on hand. I highly recommend!

I was so hesitant when I took this out of the package. I looked at what my daughter was supposed to be using as the clay and doubt crept in until she started using it. Don’t let it fool you. Once you add the water it starts taking shape and your child will have lots of fun making whatever she wants to. My child made a flower pot and it’s sitting in my windowsill. I absolutely love it.

This is a pretty inexpensive toy, and I had read the reviews, so I wasn't expecting all that much. BUT my daughter was able to complete one of the projects, from start to finish, 100% on her own - and she had a blast doing it. The instructions for the seashell speaker she made only said to spray 10-12 sprays of water on it one time, which wasn't anywhere near enough. She had to continually spray the shell with water as she was forming it, using the majority of the water in the included spray bottle by the end. At times, holes would from, so she simply took clay from a thicker area and applied it to the holes. Now, the hard part is waiting for it to dry overnight so she can paint it :) I'll update with how that goes once she's finished. In the meantime, she is using the leftover clay from this project to form the letters of her name :)

I gave this to my daughter for Christmas and she has made the turtle thus far. She really likes to be creative. The turn table for this particular project was useless, so I'm interested to see what the other projects have in store as for the usefulness of the turntable. The turtle turned out cute. It took longer than 24 hours for the turtle to dry enough to paint (more like 48 hrs) but we live in a humid climate, so that may be the issue. She loves it. I love that she loves it. Smiles all around.

This was a present for my granddaughter who is onto arts and crafts. She is into pottery right now and this spin master was a perfect gift to supplement her class. She loves it. It was perfectly priced and there are different kits. Plenty of opportunities to try different things.

When reviewing this I think people need to realize they bought a TOY. For a toy, this is good quality and easy to use. My 8 year old only needed assistance with the batteries. After that she was able to follow the directions herself and make several "pots" using the clay. This is obviously a toy and not something a true hobbyist would use, but it's great if you have a kiddo that likes to get creative and crafty.

Not sure why all the not so great reviews... true that there isn’t a ton of power as it is a kids pottery wheel not a professional one, but it is a nice kids pottery wheel. It is everything we expected it to be! By keeping the clay wet there is plenty of power to make the pottery. The directions are easy to follow and the kit includes everything to make several finished pieces. My daughter really loved it and was able to make the second piece by herself.
