Top quality product at a great price
As others have said. this is a top quality product at a great price. I would call out one caveats apart from the reduction in water pressure that others have mentioned. The labeling on the handle indicates that the hand-held shower head is connected to the straight-thru outlet, while the fixed shower-head is the other. Maybe you can remove the label a rotate it 180 degrees, but I personally don't care.

Solid build, tight tolerances, operates perfectly.
While the original KES Shower Arm Diverter was supposed to be a two-way diverter, it did not fully divert the full flow of water to either the fixed or hand-held shower head. I contacted KES and after providing them with video of the operation of the faulty diverter, they agreed to ship a new one. Received and installed the new one and it works perfectly. This KES unit seemed to be more solidly build than others with the push-pull button or simple lever, and seems to have tighter tolerances (no play in the lever). I recommend this shower arm diverter over any of the other ones I had previously tried that were more expensive.

Heafty - Smoothe Operation -Looks Good -Quality and Value
This valve is hefty and looks great. It is all metal and oozes quality....it is a good valve. Just to note: If you have a home like we do, with low water pressure, you will notice a small drop in water flow. Our pressure in the sticks is pretty low, so we did notice a small drop in flow but it is not a problem. This valve is made like others with the 2 small holes for water to flow thru. Typically you will never notice any flow decrease with a home in the city with great water pressure. We like this valve. It allows us to have a handheld along with the regular shower head.

Bought this showerhead diverter to replace an expensive push-button model I purchased at a reputable plumbing supply store. It worked fine but the pushing and pulling on the on-off knob seemed to put too much pressure on the shower arm (supply line coming out of the wall). I figured it had lasted ten years but, the design and amount of force it took to actuate either the showerhead and wand was taking a toll on the joint behind the wall. Also and mainly the fact that there was no easy way to visually know which head was going to spray by looking at the valve knob. My wife uses the rainfall head and I use the wand. Needless to say when she turned on the shower she would be blasted by the wand and vice-versa if either one forgot to switch settings. It is simple with the large lever to determine the setting of either device. Pointing up is mine and pointing down is hers. Pure harmony. The valve glides smoothly and precisely with little pressure on the shower arm. I easily removed the little baffle in the valve prior to installing it and the pressure is optimal. The only suggestion I can add to the instructions is to properly seat the supplied gaskets and use a generous amount of wraps on the supplied Teflon tape when 'clocking' the valve in the desired position. In my case, when fully tightened the angle of the valve handle was not in the straight up and down position (Skyward)-more like canted 45 degrees too much.. The addition of more wraps of Teflon tape remedied this. I also used some tape I had on hand which was a bit thicker than that supplied. All in all very happy with this purchase as can be seen by the length of this review! Great quality outstanding function at a bargain price. My wife highly recommends it as do I.

Quality far exceeds its price.
This is one of the few items in the retail market today where you seem to get more than what you pay for. This is a solid and very well made diverter valve. A valve of the same quality from a company like delta would cost you 4 times as much as this one. I used the valve in my parents master bathroom in order to install a dual shower head setup. It works great. No leaking. Made of quality brass and much cheaper than the same quality item in other brands. The diverter allows you to switch between the main shower head, hand shower, or both at the same time. My only gripe about this diverter is that they should produce a configuration with 2 female threaded ends as it would defeat the need for a 1/2 female coupler, but that isnt a big deal. definately not enough to take a start off a product at such a price that the quality well exceeds the price tag. If you are going to install the diverter to the existing arm coming from the wall and attach your shower head directly to the male threaded in then you will have no need for a coupler. I did not want to use it in that manner though for 2 reasons. First because if you use a large shower head such as an 8 inch or bigger rainfall shower head it will make the diverter hard to reach because it will sit directly behind the shower head. Also I wanted the hose from the hand shower to hang as close to the wall as possible. So I opted to replace my existing shower arm with a 4" straight nipple coming from the wall. I then attached the female end of the diverter to that nipple and used a coupler on the male threaded end of the diverter so that I could attach my main shower arm and the main shower head attaches to that. This moves the diverter closer to the wall so that your hose from the hand shower sits close to the wall and it also hangs straight down at a 90 degree angle keeping it out of the way when not in use. It also makes the diverter easier to axcess rather than being directly behind the shower head. If you opt for this configuration though you will need to purchase a 1/2 female coupler. Also it should come marked with the water flow direction. I had to learn this the hard way by putting the thing on backwards then having to take everything apart to turn it around. Also not that big a deal, but for anyone getting ready to purchase this item. The water flow direction is from the female end to the male end. If you install with water flow from the male end to the female end it will work, but the in this configuration it will only allow for the main shower head or both shower heads. From the female end to the male end it allows for the main shower head, the shower arm, or both. So basically you are going to install the female end of the diverter valve to the shower arm coming from the wall so the water flow is going in the right direction for this thing to function properly. All in all a great product.

Skip the other shower diverters and get this one!
This diverter is by far the best I've owned. Some of the other diverters out there are plastic and do not divert the full water output. The KES diverter is all metal construction. It costs a few dollars more than the Delta and others, but is well worth it. I used this KES diverter, a KES 8' foot hose extension, and a KES bidet sprayer to rig up one of our showers for dog bathing. I do a lot of home projects and rarely do things just plain work. Slapped this all together with some teflon tape and everything worked perfectly first shot. We will see how the setup stands up to use and abuse, but I am very happy at this point.

Manufacturing integrity and genius design.
Bought a push/pull style diverter from a big box that seized after about 6 months of use. Poor design. This KES design and product is a shining example of sheer manufacturing genius. Integrity in fabrication, design and operation. Installed flawlessly in a few minutes. So happy with this. Stop looking around and just buy it. You'll be very pleased.

Quality Replacement Valve
I purchased the KES Solid Brass Shower Arm Diverter Valve to replace a similarly purposed and similarly priced Delta Valve which I had obtained through Amazon three years ago. The Delta valve appeared to have plastic innards, and the handle started giving unexpected resistance within a year of installation. After approximately 2.5 years it could no longer be turned sufficiently to completely divert the water flow from the shower head to the hand sprayer. When I was finally annoyed enough to replace the Delta valve, I decided to try this product because it has what the manufacturer declares to be a ceramic diverter assembly inside instead of a plastic assembly. After a little over a month of use, the KES unit is still ridiculously easy to operate. The handle is easy to locate by touch, and thus far, it offers no resistance when being turned. The water pressure is the same through the hand sprayer and the shower head. Installation was straightforward, and the threads and fit are spot-on standard, so there were no surprises when screwing things together. The finish on the valve seems to be of good quality. At this point I am satisfied with my choice. Time will determine whether this valve is better designed than the similarly priced Delta that failed, or if Houston tap water munches indiscriminately through both types of valve construction. Regardless, this valve is user friendly and easy on arthritic fingers. Even if it fails in three years, I will likely replace it with this same unit.

Great product
The real deal, no leaks. Previously I bought another one with a swivel nut, and was a really bad choice. Stay away from those with swivel nuts. This unit have nice long threads, no leaks at all, perfect for my project. I'll recommend do not use the included washer because if you slightly overtighten, it will compress and cause flow restriction, as others mentioned without knowing the reason. Get the good tape, instead of the cheap white stuff, and then use pipe dope, the one that doesn't dry. All together you'll have a perfect connection that doesn't leak. I say this because you need a strong tight connection; this is something that you're not going to remove any time soon, or ever until it breaks, so a rubber washer makes no sense at all. The only weird thing is that my handle little icon/pic doesn't match the water flow, so when I choose hand held shower, I get shower head instead. Not a big deal, not looking that thing anyway.

Solid construction
Bought this to use with my sprayer. I needed this attachment than what came with it so I could attach it to my sink. Works as it should. Great build quality. I wanted an all solid one instead of connections that swiveled, less chances of it breaking. This thing is solid and the valve is very smooth to operate.
