A perfect emergency generator.
I bought the P3000 (3000 Watt) generator for Hurricane Irma. I simultaneously ran the items listed below, and the generator never passed a draw of 40%. The only time I exceeded 90% was when I ran a microwave oven. On a 40% continuous draw, 1.5 Gallons of fuel lasted approximately 7.5 hours. The unit was so quiet, the neighbors didn't know it was running it until they stood within 25 feet. I ran the generator for 91 hours straight (except during refueling) and there wasn't a single issue. MY GENERATOR SETUP: * Kept the generator 20 feet from the house to prevent carbon monoxide issues. * Ran all YELLOW 30 AMP extension cords above the ground utilizing plant sheppard hooks. * Had a temporary cover over the generator using a small outdoor tent to protect the generator from the sun, inclement weather, and ventilation. * Placed the generator on concrete blocks to keep it above and groundwater. * Grounded the unit using a grounding rod ($8.95 at Walmart). * Inserted safety outlet covers into unused generator outlets to prevent moisture issues. CONTINUOUS USAGE ITEMS: * 1 full size refrigerator * 300 watts of lights * 2 box fans * 2 40" flat screen TV's * 1 Cable modem/router * 1 Laptop * 2 Roku Boxes The generator is portable, well made, and will service most basic requirements in emergencies.

I can't say enough good things about this inverter generator. This review is for the 2200-Watt model. On a Sunday night recently Hurricane Florence was projected to hit our area very hard beginning on Thursday and power outages were certain. I've never used a generator in my life but I had a feeling we were going to need one this time. I bought this generator late on a Sunday night and it arrived at my house on Wednesday via Prime. Local stores all around town couldn't keep geneators in stock. There were long lines and high prices. Knowing that would be the case I decided to let Amazon do the work and drop it off at my door. This was a life saver. My power was only out 2 whole days (48 hours) which was great considering this storm. I unboxed this the day before the storm, read through the quick and easy setup, gassed it up, and it cranked immediately and ran perfectly. After familiarizing myself with it I put it away hoping not to have to use it. But, then the power went out. We were up in running in just a few minutes. I know 2200 watts isn't a lot when it comes to generators and all stores in town were selling them at much higher wattages and prices but I had a mission, to keep my food from spoiling, and this did more than the job. During this 48 hours I kept my fridge on, used a lamp, use a radio, sometimes used a small TV and DVD player, charged our phones and more. This generator is a work horse and I was blown away knowing I had more than 25% load and we got over 8 hours every use. This sucker cranks with one easy pull and doesn't stop until the gas runs out. Know what wattage you need before you buy. Could I have used more watts, sure. But I was in a jam and this more than did the job and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Need more watts...they sell higher wattage units or you can connect another in parallel. I'll end with this, thanks Briggs & Stratton for being there for my family during a challenging time and thanks Amazon for such quick delivery.

Nice generator...
I bought this last year (July 9, 2016) We here in Florida just had hurricane Irma. I was without power for 6 days, and 8 hours. This little beauty saved my sanity. It ran the whole time... powering my 7000 btu ac unit, a light. It didn't have the slightest problem. The only thing that I would improve is that there is no fuel shut off valve. Would be nice to have so that when you are finished using it, you can shut off, and run the carb dry. I did find though, a small screw, and hose attached to the carb bowl. When you loosen the screy slightly, the fuel in the carb bowl drains out through the tube. Some nice piece of equipment indeed...

We recently purchased a Honda generator at work and liked its quality but not the price so after researching I discovered this Briggs and purchased one for myself. This unit is all but identical to the Honda and over three hundred dollars cheaper. So far I am delighted.

Seems to work as advertised.
This generator was purchased to replace a IU2000 Honda. It has now been used 2 times for about 12hrs straight each time to power a travel trailer. It seems to work as advertised. My Honda worked well for 2 years, but had carb, then fuel pump failure no doubt due to 87 octane/ethanol blend being used at some point. For half the price, this seems to be a comparable generator. As with all small engine devices, find a source for non-ethanol fuel. It has proven to be cancer to everything it's run in.

It runs very quietly (about as loud as a new car engine) and was great for all my power needs while camping

Great been using it since Hurricane Maria In PR !
This little machine is been running solid since November. It runs 14 hours a day from 8am to 3pm and 8pm to 3am. I use less than 6 dollars a day ! My oil Mobile 1 Synthetic 10w 30 every 4 days. Its January and still going strong love this thing .... EDIT : It's February 3 and electricity was back yesterday finally and the Inverter made it and still in good shape ! I'm cleaning it and saving it for future need. Highly recomend !!!

Used it for Hurricane Irma for about 28 hours in Jacksonville Florida. No issues, started every time on the first pull. I ran a full size fridge, 42" tv, lamp and a tower fan.

Simply the best! Built sturdy and reliable! Great for basic home backup!
Bought this generator after hurricane Maria devastated our Island of Puerto Rico. I have a P2000 which ran almost 24/7 for the first few days after the hurricane. After being informed we would be without power for at least 4 to 6 months, I purchased this P3000 to alternate with the P2000. Now, both generators run my entire house, large refrigerator, all house lights and fans, 42" TV, and charges our cellphones and laptop. Of course I did my homework and checked the voltage and amperage (multiply voltage by amperage = watts) on all the equipment that is connected to the generator. Once I added all the wattage my appliances and house lights would need and considered the peak or highest starting wattage, I unplugged the garage door opener, microwave oven, and all air conditioners except one small one (6000 BTU) that the P3000 runs effortlessly. All light-bulbs in the house are LED (might have one or two CFL) so the house lights combined are about 150 watts or less (small house). Anyway, the thing is these generators almost always start on the first pull, they are fantastic on gas economy. The P2000 runs over 10 hours on one gallon of gas, and the P3000 has run over 12 hours (running between 8% and 19% watts) without running out of gas (the P3000 indicates on the LED readout the hours of use, and the wattage being used). Both generators are built rock-solid and are easy to move anywhere. The wheels and telescoping handle on the P3000 are a great plus! As of today, we are into our fourth month without electricity. Thanks to these generators we have been able to cope with our situation better. BTW Oil change every 50 hours! (5-30W full synthetic, best!)

EXCELLENT GENERATOR!
EXCELLENT GENERATOR!!! Was all set to buy a similar model Honda generator at almost $800.00 more to run my AC on my travel trailer, but I decided to take a chance and try this one. GREAT DECISION! Put the oil and fuel in and it started on the very first pull right out of the box. My business neighbor has the Honda unit and we did a side by side comparison. This one is actually slightly smaller and lighter (and you will love the built-in collapsible handle and solid wheels - costs extra on the Honda) but with a bigger fuel capacity and even though it's rated at 58 db and the Honda at 56 db, this one was more quiet and couldn't be heard at all from about 10 feet away. Ran my 13,000 BTU RV air conditioner for 5 hours and only used 2/3 of a tank of fuel. Has a really nice digital meter that shows the "load" the generator is outputting and my AC unit running continuously only show a 47% to 53% load capacity. PLENTY OF POWER!!!
