After owning battery for 3 months, cord is fraying and battery is not charging correctly. No problem, I thought. Their website states "Jackery offers a 12-month warranty for all of our products. If any quality issues or product malfunctions happen during this period, you are entitled to our in-warranty service for free." So, I leave a inquiry on their website about a repair or replacement. Got no reply, crickets. Warranties are great but somebody needs to do something to make it happen. They apparently do not stand behind their products. Great webpage though. Update March 2018--Jackery did email me and said they would replace the battery. I sent them my information twice but never heard back from them. So I still have a non-workable battery with no resolution or fulfillment of the warranty. Update June 2018--I did receive a new battery last week from Jackery at no cost to replace the broken one. Thankfully they did stand behind their product and I'm looking forward to using this one. Thanks Jackery!

A piece of must have

I've been using it for about a week, and here are my observations on this tiny piece of must-have: PROS - Small size. Easily goes in my backpack, pant pocket, jeans pocket etc - Built in phone cables mean no extra cables to carry or deal with cables getting tangled up. This is a super thumbs up for me - Can charge a phone and get charged at the same time - Has a USB port as well if any device with a different adapter needs charged - Gives 2 full charges on iPhone X and almost 3 on lower models like 6 and SE - Flash light. Although I am not a huge user of this feature, it did come handy last week when I was searching something inside the car for a lost item - Also gets fully charged in real quick time CONS - A bit heavy for my liking but certainly not a show stopper - The built in phone cables are a life saver (as mentioned above) but I wish the iPhone cable was a bit longer though (I don’t use the other charger as yet) - Doesn’t start to charge automatically on insert. I can be a plus but it has its minuses too. I have had instances where I plugged the charger in and thought the charging was on only to realize later that the charger wasn’t turned on. Again not a show stopper but would be nice if it starts to charge automatically But overall I love this battery pack and I love it mainly for two full charges on iPhone X and not having to carry a charging cable around. Highly recommend. Also, I would like to see more color choices as well, especially silver

Nice and compact with a lot of battery power

Nice and compact with a lot of battery power. I'm very happy with it but here are some caveats: the picture looks really sleek but to charge it, you also need the USB adapter (included but not shown). If you want to plug it into the wall, you'll also need to bring or buy a USB to wall outlet adapter. This is a little annoying because the rest of the design is so perfect. I wrap the extra cord around the case and rubber band it on so I'll always be able to recharge (this kind of destroys the sleek design). Be aware that you have to turn it on in order to charge. It doesn't automatically start when you plug your device in. DON'T THROW AWAY THE INSTRUCTIONS. They seem simple but I forgot the order of button pressing to make things happen.

Great Gift for Everyone

Problem Solved. I've had the Jackery 6000mAh charger in my bag for two years without a problem. Charges ipads and devices rapidly and is perfect if you are not wanting to be that guy sitting on the floor next to the outlet :). So this new one: See the cords that have micro usb and lightning (iOS) connectors.. Well that solves the issue of carrying a battery and an cord? Leave that cord at home, you don't need it. How cool is it to be on the plane, and just pull this out without having to negotiate that 6 foot white cord? Its pretty slick and worth the purchase. Very reliable and two years later (on my last model) no drop off in performance.

Perfect for a couple of hours at the gym or a walk

I have the Jackery 10,000 and 12,000 capacity batteries but really wanted something not so bulky to fit in the very small wrist bag I take to the gym. I used to carry the 10,000 version which gave me 6 straight hours of continuous play on Pokémon Go, so it was awesome, but awkwardly sized. I usually don't walk or stay at the gym for more than 2.5 hours so this 5,000 unit is perfect and very lightweight. True it doesn't have a flashlight like the other versions, but I'm using it for my phone, which does a light so it's all good.

another great Jackery product...

The packaging was nice on this charger. Much like the rest of their products. It is very minimalistic and I love that about it. The Bolt came fully charge, but I went ahead and plugged it in for a little bit just to make sure before I started testing it. It also comes with a flashlight like several of their other portable chargers. You depress the power button for about 3 seconds and the flashlight will turn on. Do the same thing to turn it off. The Bolt is a pretty small design for such a powerful portable charger. It fits great in my pocket or I can throw it in my backpack without it taking up any room. I also love that it has a charge cable for both the iPhone and a micro usb cable which is pretty universal right now. For this test, I used an iPhone 8 plus to see what it could do. The charger fit great on my iPhone. I have a pretty thick case on it and many cables will not fit. This was not the case. It fit perfectly. It took less than 60 seconds of the Bolt being connected to the iPhone for it to turn on. I received 10% batter on the iPhone in less than ten minutes. The phone was able to get to 70% in about 45 minutes and then the charging started to slow down as most do. At 88% power, the Bolt was at 50%. When the iPhone was 100% charged, the Bolt had around 25% left. I used the remainder of the battery left in the Bolt to charge a Kindle Fire tablet and was able to get around 45% more added to the Kindle Fire. All in all, It took about 1 hour 45 minutes to charge the iPhone 8 plus, which I feel is an incredible thing for such a small charger. The fact that it took only a half hour to get 50% battery life in the iPhone is pretty amazing as well. I charged up the Bolt used it a few days later on a PS4 controller. Like I said, the micro usb is pretty universal right now. All in all, the Bolt is a big bang for your buck. It's not an expensive product, but the way it works, along with their other products, you would think you paid a lot of money for it! It has the 8 pin connector for iPhone/iPad and has micro usb. It also has a usb slot if you want to plug a different cable into it like usb type c. It charges devices fast and charges itself back up fast as well. It has the handy little flashlight. It's a very light charger making it extremely portable. You can throw it in your pocket, purse or backpack. Whatever you do, you need to get one of these and add it to your other quick charging Jackery products.

Stopped charging after 7 months

I absolutely loved this product but it just stopped charging after only 7 months of use... the four blie lights are on and it seems like it’s full but when i connect my phone it starts charging for a second then it shutts off. Very disappointed. *Update After they saw my review they contacted me and sent me back a brand new one and a small gift too. Customer service is amazing and i am changing my review to 5 stars.

I bought this after reading The Wirecutter's recommendation of it. I have not been disappointed! It holds a lot of charge, and does the job quickly. I love that everything is attached, so there are no cords to worry about losing. It feels very sturdy and well-made. I use it to charge my Samsung Galaxy phone and iPad mini, so it's very handy that it has both micro USB and lightning cables. It is a good size. It doesn't feel too bulky or unwieldy in your hand if you need to carry it along with your phone. (I am 5'9"; those with hands on the smaller side will probably find it harder to hold in-hand.) The flashlight is a nice touch. The pass through charging feature is fantastic. It means I didn't have to bring a bunch of cords on a recent trip, because I could charge this battery, my phone, and my iPad all at the same time overnight. I am very happy with this battery charger! I bought it to replace an Anker charger I'd lost, but even if I found that one, I'd still keep using this one.

Wonderful charger that truy packs a punch.

First off, I want to say how impressed I am with the packing itself. Smooth, sleek and elegant. You would feel confident presenting this as a gift without even needing to giftwrap it if your were in a pinch. About the product. I purchased this for my husband who travels a lot for his work, as he always has trouble in airports charging his phone, and when he is International, it is never possible as the wall plugs are different than in the US and he has to carry converters. I began to research chargers, and this one promised a lot. I received it around 4 pm yesterday, and I was so excited to use it, right out of the box, I plugged my phone into it, and it was precharged! I fully charged my phone in about 25 minutes. My phone was around 79 or 80 percent. Then I charged my husband's phone, that was almost dead. The charger was not empty so I fully charged my sons phone and then the charger finally needed to be recharged itself. I am extremely satisfied, and so happy I found something that will my my husband's life easier while on the road. I am truly thankful to this company.

Excellent portable battery

I wanted a small battery that could charge my iPhone 6 Plus when I am out and about on my motorcycle. The battery needed to be small enough to comfortably fit in my motorcycle jacket pocket, and I wanted to do away with messy external cords. This Jackery Bolt does the job, as the cords are elegantly made an integral part of the unit that tuck away nicely when not in use. The battery has one micro USB cord and one Apple Lightning cord, so it will charge about any device. It also has an external USB port for use with an external cord. This battery will charge my Apple iPhone Plus more than once, so it is perfect for my intended use, as a means to pump up my iPhone 6 Plus when I am out and about. RJB.
