• Pairs with both the UMC425 and UMC435 Honda versattach powerheads
  • Pruner has a translucent oil reservoir, which makes it simple to check the level visually and prevents the attachment being damaged
  • Honda's innovative SureLoc joint locking system makes it easy to connect attachments with confidence, just push and click to lock your attachment in place, no tools are required SureLoc takes the guesswork out of knowing if the attachment is properly secured to the powerhead
  • Pruner is part of Honda's exclusive versattach system, it is interchangeable with any of 5 other options: trimmer, edger, hedge trimmer, cultivator, and blower
  • Every versattach attachment comes with a handy hook for easy storage, the cap also prevents dirt and dust from building up in the spline

The UMV435 is the most powerful trimmer I have owned. This thing will not bog down. It uses the 0.105 line which is larger & stronger. Forget safety glasses, you need a full face shield. I’m serious! This thing will launch rocks at you like a sling shot. Use round string instead of the kind that has edges. The round string cuts more precise. It cuts weeds and thick grass that my Stihl trimmer couldn’t dream of tackling. I also purchased the long hedge trimmer attachment along with the pruner (chainsaw) attachment. They both work beautifully. This trimmer is a little heavier than a typical 2-stroke. But it makes up for it in power. Very easy to start and super quiet when idling. I’m very pleased with my purchase. I got tired of replacing Stihl trimmers. I know it’s more expensive, but it’s worth it. You can’t go wrong with Honda engines.

First Honda tool and could not believe how easy it is to crank and how quite it is. Love! Love!

I waited until the leaves were down to review this blower. So far I've got about 6 hours with it and it is excellent. I've owned a lot of different blowers and nothing comes close. It's so powerful that I used it to move hickory nuts and acorns. It beats raking them. Like everything from Honda, it's well designed, engineered and manufactured.

Attach this to the 35cc Honda VersAttach base unit, load this Bad Boy up with some Oregon 22-805 Gatorline and you're ready to rock. This is the go to combination for the mother of all string trimmers.

I went with the 35cc unit, and this machine absolutely rips. The String trimmer is just as solid and functional as my father’s stand alone 35cc Honda trimmer. The blower isn’t as powerful as many of the stand alone units mainly due to the lower CFM however because the blower head is right down at the ground it is very effective and very easy to control the air stream which decreased the overall work time as I didn’t have many rogue clippings. The headgear trimmer is very powerful and slices right through the bushes, roses, junipers, etc. with no drop in engine rpm. However for taller hedges you’d want the extended hedger as the power head is a little heavy and you’ll get tired holding it up at shoulder height etc. My only gripes are it didn’t come with a small bottle of oil like most Honda products do, and the shoulder harness should be a bit nicer for the cost of the unit.

Amazing torque and power and its CARB compliant. If you get the string trimmer remove the line that comes with it (its worthless) and buy .105 diameter Oregon 22-805 square Gatorline. Its the only line that will stand up to the power of the Honda engine. This device is a beast, with the Gatorline it can blast through most anything. You really want to get this (the 35cc engine). Yes I know it 50 bucks more but it pays off in the long run with the extra power to blast through everything faster and get the job done sooner. The bonus is: it usually starts on the first pull and you can count on Honda reliability year after year. All other brands pale in comparison, Ive owned most of them and I suspect you have as well which is why you're reading this review.!

I absolutely love this pole saw. It's exactly what I wanted. Works great, easy to use and cuts through limbs easily.

started right up out of the box. I did find it a bit heavy when used with the hedge trimmer. lots of power and very quiet compared to two cycle trimmers.

I used the Trimmer Plus attachment system for years, and I loved it. Being able to edge, trim hedges, whack weeds, blow leaves, and vacuum, all without cords and without warming up and maintaining several engines was pure heaven. I knew when I bought another house I would go the same route. However, there were issues. Mainly with the head units. Ryobi was pure junk, falling apart after just a few months. The Craftsman head unit was much better, lasting all of three years. Both had been to the shop several times. The last Craftsman head unit lasted I believe 3 more years and was working when I sold it, and only went to the shop once. I had an electric head unit tucked away for WHEN any of these units had to go in the shop for yet another repair. I am tired of buying junk. I considered Stihl, but Honda was comparable, and I figured it's hard to go wrong with Honda. I couldn't be more right! When I started the other head units, assuming they started at all, they would cough and sputter while I adjusted the choke and feathered the throttle. They would warm up soon enough and run without my fiddling, though they always ran rough-ish. The first time I fired up this Honda, I pulled the cord two or three times, and it just ran. Smoothly. I didn't think a little engine could run like this. It was quiet, too. It was just chugging away, waiting for action. I heard one could use the Trimmer Plus attachments on this, so I had them ready. You can NOT use Trimmer Plus attachments. Sorry. They don't fit properly, nor do they mate to the output shaft. You can get the tools to run if you avoid locking them in place and hold them tight against the head unit, but they'll spin when you hit the throttle, and I'm quite certain you'll strip out the output shaft. I considered modifying the attachments, but that's a lot of friggin work just to save some money, and while I never had problems with the Trimmer Plus attachments, I don't want to mess up the head unit. So, I returned the old attachments and ordered the proper Honda attachments. They were very, very well built, feeling much more solid than the Trimmer Plus attachments. Below is what I used: Edger: Worked perfectly. First time doing the crab grass lawn on my new (to me) house, and I didn't even get to use full throttle. The Honda head unit laughed at the thick grass. String Trimmer: I had to put this together, which was a hassle. Once that was done, it tore through tall grass and weeds without hesitation. Full throttle was only used a couple quick times. Blower: For some bizarre reason the cheapest attachment was packed with more protection than the other two. It worked well, but I didn't like it as much as the Trimmer Plus blower. The airflow is not concentrated, so it just kind of blows in the general direction you point it. I wish it had a narrow nozzle. It is the coolest looking attachment, though. Unfortunately, the Honda attachments are more expensive than the Trimmer Plus, in a couple cases twice as expensive! You definitely get what you pay for, but sadly, if you can't pay for it, you don't get it. Hence, no review on the hedge trimmer or cultivator, because I don't have the scratch. No doubt they're worth every penny. I only mention the Trimmer Plus system because it serves the same purpose, but really, there's no comparing the two when it comes to using them. The Honda is a solid, well engineered system that is a joy to use. I can concentrate on the task at hand rather than devoting my valuable time, energy, and money keeping the tools running. It's a world of difference. Highly Recommend! ****UPDATE 02/13/2017 The string trimmer attachment doesn't come with much trimmer line, and it's so powerful it'll use it up, so before you gather all the attachments and think you're done, better stock up on some line. First I bought the best line I could find at the local big box store. Honda laughs at such line. You'll need to buy really thick, really high quality line. I bought some here in a 500+ spool with the best reviews. UPDATE 2/23/19 After roughly 3 years it's still working perfectly. Starts easy and runs strong. Still highly recommend!

General Overview: I puchased this Honda Versattach as an early fathers day gift due to my other Craftsmen dying. This Honda Versattach is awesome! I did a lot of research when my previous craftsmen weedeater died. I had a few people tell me to purchase one of the Echo brand weedeaters and in looking into them, they did look great. The reviews for the Echo brand and even the Stihl seemed really good for the kind that have attachments like the Versattach. But then I learned about the Honda right before I was going to make a purchase. I've owned a few Honda cars over the years and I've always been amazed at the endurance of the motors. If you've owned a Honda, you know what i mean. If you haven't ever owned a Honda, this tool would be a good first purchase. Honda is basically an engine company and they have perfected their products and have producing them down to a science. Pros: As a 4-stroke, this Honda Versattach doesn't need the mixed fuel like many other weedeaters. Having only one type of gas for both my Honda mower and now my Honda weedeater makes getting gas and storing it much easier. This Versattach also comes with a 3 year warranty which is decent for Honda though it is less than the Echo's warranty. Powerful with 35+ CCs! (UMC435) One pull start! So far, priming the Versattach and starting it has been much much much... easier than my previous weedeater and still better than other brands new that have a '3 pull' start. Seriously, this and my mower start with 'one easy pull' which is far better than other brands Purrs while idling and is quiet comparatively. That said, if you're in the thick of something and give it gas, there will be noise and things will go flying! Easy to use attachments - the lock and tightening is as easy as it gets - no guesswork and questioning if its properly seated like other brands. 4-stroke runs upside down and all around! Normal engines cannot run upside down because of the oil and other issues... but Honda has figured out how to do it with this tool and it works marvelously. Hooks for storing make it easy to hang it in the garage up and out of the way For the weedeater attachment, adding new line is easy and requires no tools! Cons The head unit is a little more expensive then the competition... but is it really competition when you have the Honda brand, 4 stroke instead of 2, and far more CCs for power? The number of attachments are comparable but are missing a few good ones when comparing to other brands. For instance, currently there is no extension bar that i know of (any answer Honda?) Using it Like i said earlier, this thing is Awesome and nearly created a black-hole in the universe when I gave it some gas! You can thank me for letting of the gas 8 ). Seriously powerful... no joke. The only time the engine slowed down while in use was when I got scared and let off the gas! The weedeater attachment comes with very thick line and easily handles the double bladed line. I was able to chop down one of those tall thick-bladed grass bushes with just the weedeater attachment. I was also able to use just the weedeater attachment for edging my lawn so I'm not sure I'll actually need the edger (though I'm sure it stands up to the Brand name). This tool is no doubt worth every penny and it capable of fully doing what it says it can!
