Anker makes solid products.
Like almost everyone else, I have more than a dozen micro-usb cords sitting around the house, laying in the glove box of my car, and packed into my laptop bag. When USB-C became the new standard on cell phones, tablets and laptops. the question became what to do with the investment in cords. Micro-usb worked well, but the ends were fragile as heck, and I tossed out cords pretty regularly. So I knew eventually the micro-usb cords would disappear, but I figured there was no reason to waste my invest in the existing cords until then. Anker has been a good brand for me with chargers, cords, etc., so I thought I would try these tips. Bottom line? They work really well. With new micro-usb cords, the converter tip clicks into place, stays attached very well, and disconnects cleanly from my phone. This Anker tip is equal o the converter that came with my Note 8, and I only wish I had a couple more.

Anker USB C to Micro USB Adapter has spec compliant CC termination! A fine little adapter for your old USB A-to-MicroUSB cable
Benson here again, continuing my reviews of USB Type-C legacy cables, adapters, and accessories. Today I am reviewing "Anker USB-C to Micro USB Adapter" by Anker. This comes in a convenient 2-pack. Let's check spec compliance : I'm using my trusty Chromebook Pixel 2015 with the Chromium Twinkie USB-PD Sniffer, available on Amazon from Plugable : Plugable USB 3.1 Type-C (USB-C) Power Delivery Sniffer For my first test, I've got the Anker MicroUSB Adapter plugged into a good quality (itself capable of >2.4A) Micro-B cable from Belkin. (this one: Belkin 6-Foot 2.0 USB Type C (USB-C) to Micro USB Charge Cable, USB-C Certified) . That is then plugged Apple proprietary MacBook charger capable of 5.2V at 2.4A. The Type-C end is plugged into Twinkie, acting as a pass through to Chromebook Pixel 2015. Picture attached! First let's run the ectool command from Pixel's command line to check what Pixel thinks is happening on its USB-C ports : localhost ~ # ectool --dev 1 usbpdpower Port 0: SNK Charger Proprietary 4744mV / 2400mA, max 5000mV / 2400mA / 12000mW Port 1: SRC So far so good. Pixel identifies the charger as a Proprietary type adapter, and has negotiated 2.4A. Let's see what Twinkie (the USB PD sniffer) says : > tw cc CC1 = 22 mV ; CC2 = 434 mV The tw cc command reads the current voltage values from the CC pins. As you can see here, CC2 pin has a value of 434mV. Referring to the USB Type-C Specification Table 4-25 Voltage on Sink CC pins, this voltage falls right in the middle of the range allowed for vRd-USB, meaning that yes, this MicroUSB adapter has the correct 56kΩ pullup resistor! One more command : > tw vbus VBUS = 4818 mV ; -2450 mA The tw vbus command uses twinkie's current and voltage meter ability. As you can see, the laptop is pulling just around 2.4A of current at 4.818V from the Apple adapter. For a HighSpeed USB 2.0 data test, I’ve hooked my Nexus 5X to my Chromebook Pixel via the Anker MicroUSB adapter + Belkin MicroUSB cable to test large file transfer via MTP. It just works, no problem! Now for more subjective judgments of this adapter : The Anker adapter has a black glossy overmold with the Anker logo on it. The whole thing is very small, barely larger than the Type-C or Micro-B connectors on both ends. The Type-C plug on this adapter is a very unique for a Micro-B adapter because in typical Anker fashion, it uses a very good quality plug made with a deep-draw extrusion process. The plug is a single continuous piece of metal all the way around, meaning it's stronger than other stamped type plugs. This type of plug is the same kind that is used on all of Google and Apple's Type-C plugs, and the quality shows here. In conclusion : A high quality charging and data sync MicroUSB Adapter from Anker! The adapter is a great safe way to breathe new life into your old A-to-MicroUSB cables for use with newer USB Type-C devices such as Nexus 6P/5X or Pixel devices. It is also future proof for fast charging USB Type-C devices to come!

Great for charging new devices with USB-C and using your micro USB cables
Got a galaxy s8 with the USB-C connector. I had ordered two Anker cables a couple of weeks ago but thought these might work as well. Since I have dozens of micro USB cables. Didn't really want to invest the money when it really isn't all that necessary. Most of the time the chargers at work and at home get the charging duty. Car charger and others I can use the adapters instead so those with micro USB devices can charge as well without carrying extra cables. Okay, I bought these for charging purposes and for that they work perfectly fine. They fit nice and tight and fast charging with my Anker Qi car charger is good as ever. Not that I use it that much but it will charge my phone (typically) in about 90 minutes from about 10%. Haven't clocked it with new phone and these adapters but it did charge +30% on my 25 minute drive home. So I'm satisfied. I was not able to get my micro USB flash drive to work with the adapter. I know the drive is good and I know the port is good on the phone. The drive doesn't look like it inserts all the way into the adapters micro USB port. May or may not be true, but it doesn't recognize my USB stick. Haven't messed with it that much, just gave it a quick try. It says it is not OTG compatible in the info on Amazon but it mentions data transfer speeds so that probably relates to via a micro USB cable connected to something else, i.e. desktop or laptop. Again, not a problem for me but if you are wanting to use your USB drives with this it may not work. Or at least not with the galaxy S8. Price is great for the 2-pack at around $8 currently. Value for money is fantastic compared to OEM part. I will chide Amazon for gouging on the shipping though, $8 for a bubble envelope without insurance. Bad form Amazon. But I don't hold Anker responsible for that or let it taint the review. For my purpose of charging my phone, five stars no doubt. Minus 1/10th of a star for no OTG but I don't have a big issue with that. It is an adapter and probably does work with other devices. Great job, Anker! You're still my go-to vendor for charging, cables and now adapters.

So handy!
I purchased a new phone through Amazon that has the USB-C connector and alas, none of my cables would fit; they were all either lightning for iPad or micro USB for other phones and devices. So I bought a few more cables USB to USB-C and added to the rats nest of cables in the drawer. Then, I discovered these gems. Wow..I could use my car charger for the old phone and not have to buy another one. Use one cable for multiple devices, both micro and C connections. How brilliant is this little adapter? Is there a downside? It may be the ability to lose these so easily. The USB-Micro plugs do fit very tight into these so that's not likely be be an issue. If they are removed, however, it would be easy to lose these. Finally, these are made by Anker...whom I trust with my valued electronic devices. In summary, a great idea and a great product.

The best microUSB to USB C adapter I've found!
These are great little USB-C to Micro-USB adapters. I have been looking for a way to make use of all my old MicroUSB cables and devices ever since upgrading to the HTC 10, but all the other adapters I've tried have had issues. All of them use stamped and folded sheet metal for the USB-C end, and as a result most of them have sharp edges that could scratch up your phone. Also, many of them have square, not trapezoidal, openings at the microUSB end, which makes plugging it in much more difficult. However, these Anker ones are perfect! The USB-C end is made using the deep-draw extrusion method, which means that there are no seams to fail. In addition to being stronger, it means that the edges are nice and rounded, and there is no danger of scratching your device when you plug it in. The USB C end feels very secure when inserted, with no wiggle whatsoever. The microUSB end is pretty much a normal microUSB plug. It's easy to plug devices it and remove them, and also doesn't seem to wiggle much. The casing on this adapter is much smaller than on some other adapters I've used. The whole adapter is only 0.18" thick, whereas some of my older adapters were 0.22" thick or more. That 0.04" may not sound like much, but it makes a difference when trying to plug it into my phone with many phone cases. The adapter is small enough and sturdy enough that I can slip it into the coin pocket of my jeans and forget about it until I need it. I would highly recommend this for anyone going from a microUSB device to a USB-C device. It may cost a bit more than some other adapters, but you get what you pay for.

Convenient and cheap
I invested in a ton of micro USB cables a while back because we had phones and tablets and other whizbangs that all use the micro USB connector for charging or talking to computers. Then I got a new phone that uses USB C, and I was not especially excited about the idea of replacing half my cables with a new style and then having to squint at them to figure out whether they're the one I want. This little guy will let me use my previously-installed micro USB charging cords to charge my new phone on my desk and my nightstand without having to rip out all my careful wire management, at least for a while. And even my aging eyes can see this little guy stuck to the end of a cable so I know which of the nest of snakes to grab. This is a temporary solution, probably, and as I replace my cables I'll use a different color for the new connector so I can save myself the squinting.

Macbook Pro Users Beware
I have 6 of these, and they work great. The only problem is that you cannot insert 2 next to each other on a 2017 13" Macbook Pro. This may not be a limitation of the Adapter, but due to the fact that USB C connectors are much smaller than ol' school USB A connectors, the USB ports are very close together on the Macbook Pro. If you want to use 2 next to each other, you may want to get this Adapter and something like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FM51812/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .

Great Option instead of Purchasing new Wires
When I bought the Samsung Galaxy S8, I was disappointed to find out that they upgraded (or really just changed) the charging port to USB C from the standard Micro USB. While I know this upgrade will be 100% beneficial as the charging port has less of chance to fail, I thought I would have to go out and purchase all new wires for home after finally purchasing all the right cables and lengths for my home, car and job. But fear not, Anker comes through (as always) with amazing technology (and cheap at that) to solve the problem! No need to get rid of the old wires or buy new ones; Just purchase these awesome adapters for a fraction of the price of new wires and you can continue on with enjoying the new USB technology while not experiencing any drop in charging capabilities. I have QuickCharge 2.0 & 3.0 wall chargers, as well as regular output chargers, and have noticed no difference in charging capabilities going from the Micro USB technology to the USB C. These Anker adapters are great and you will not be disappointed. I have used them every day for over a year and they have not failed me once yet.

Anker delivers another great product in a tiny package!
Pros: - Work well with my past micro USB cables - Quality build Cons: - They're small and can get lost easily - None other than that If you're looking for simple way to make use of your old micro USB cables in our new USB-C world, these little converters for you! Amazon once didn't police the USB-C cables being sold but now they've cracked down so you have plenty of compatible options. I consider myself to having brand loyalty after using a product and really experiencing the quality of what they deliver. I've had tried many bad brands and few good brands. Anker is one of those brands that has yet to let me down. These little adapters are great like all of the other Anker products I've purchased! These little adapters have a tight fit in your old micro USB cables and will not come loose easily. If you want to leave them on your old cables, you won't need to worry about these coming off and being lost very easily. I have a plethora of old micro USB cables and these fit nice and snug on them all. I've simply just fit them to my old cables and now they're ready to go when I'm on the go.

Great customer service
Out of the package I was happy with this little adapter and I thought I wouldn't be needing the extra one, wrong. After about a month of using it the connection wasn't as secure and it got worse. I had to try and place it just so or I got a message from my tablet saying the charge was slow. It would also just fall right out and I didn't notice. I even tried putting tape over the connection. So on to the second one. I'm thinking that will last s month order two, not! That one was crap right away. I can see just by looking at it that it's barely in there and if I move it falls out. Now I need to order a brand that gives you more than 1 that works for a month or two. I'm not the type to write negative reviews but these really ticked me off. ***update*** The company contacted me after my initial review and tried to work with. They have gone far and above in customer service. I am happy now and I'm changing my review from 1 star to 5 stars.
