My almost-2 granddaughter loves this puzzle. She takes them all out and lines them up and counts them. And is learning colors as well. The size of the fish is great for little hands. The pieces are well-made and sturdy. The colors go through the fish, so nothing to chip off. My daughter-in-law teaches pre-schoolers, so I sent one for her classroom. She says the children love it and are taking turns to play with it. Thank you again Melissa and Doug for providing quality products that spark learning and creativity.

Solid quality puzzle

Solid and easy for young ones to pick up. Matching color with color’s name written on the board. Because of the unique shape of each fish the puzzle is a bit more challenging than the traditional toddler puzzle...which is good because it has kept my granddaughter more engaged with it.

Adorable and educational

This puzzle is my daughter’s favorite. She comes back to it again and again, and even uses the fish for pretend fish frys. Helps with dexterity and teaches kids colors and words. What more could you ask for? Especially in a puzzle...

Great addition to our Chunky Puzzle Collection

Melissa and Doug toys never disappoint. I ordered this puzzle for my daughter's Easter basket. I can not wait to give it to her. The colors on the fish are bright and vibrant. All of the wooden pieces and board are sturdy and solid. We really enjoy these chunky puzzles as they help her with her motor skills, matching, and critical thinking. Each fish has the color labeled on the puzzle board as well so she can see how to spell the color and this helps with the labeling process and learning how to read!

Each Fish Has Its Own Unique Spot

I LOVE this puzzle! I was going to buy the other Melissa and Doug color fish puzzle but then I read reviews how all the fish are the same size and shape, so a child can place it anywhere and it will seem correct. With this puzzle, every fish is a different shape and size. The colors are vibrant and the illustration is cute. I love that they are all facing onwards towards a heart! My 18 month old son is OBSESSED!

Worth It!

This puzzle is so much fun for my 19 month old even though the fish shapes are a little more advanced than what she has mastered just yet. This puzzle is a challenge and will remain useful for more than just a week - highly recommend!!

2 year old approved.

Bought this and a few other Melissa & Doug puzzles for my 2 year old. He was sitting along side me as we did some online "puzzle" shopping, and this "fishy" one caught his attention the most. So in the shopping cart it went! Fast forward 2 days later.. Shipping was quick and it arrived in great condition. As I was unpacking it, my 2 year old immediately smiled and became interested. Each individual fish is solid and chunky but not heavy, perfect for little hands. He enjoyed naming the colors as they were being placed in. This would be a good one for 18mth- 3 year olds, as my 5 year old only seemed mildly interested. A nice simple little puzzle. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent baby puzzles

These are the best puzzles for the younger kiddos. My daughter started this style around 15 months and now at 18 months can complete them in seconds. We've started mixing up the different puzzles for more of a challenge. Great size for little hands!

Wonderful puzzle for 2 year-old grandson!

My 2 year-old grandson loves putting this puzzle together and loves playing with the block-type fish in other make-believe games. He also has learned the 8 basic colors that the puzzle features. Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles are always of a great quality and this puzzle is no different. Highly recommend!

Colorful fish puzzle

My 3 year old nephew love this puzzle! The first time he played with one was at our local library and it helped him when he was learning his colors. We bought one for him to play with when he visits, and he still loves to play with it, but it is perhaps more suited for younger kids. It is super cute and well made. I highly recommend this puzzle.
