These worms are packed very well (double boxed) so that they are not all broken up when received. I feed literally hundreds of wild birds daily and they go through this bag within 4 days now that my adult birds have had baby birds. I do recommend these as it seems that all wild birds (blue jays, mockingbirds, Eastern blue birds, starlings, robins, Carolina Wren, Grackles, Crows, etc.) love them.

I feed a handful of meal worms with sunflower seed in my wild bird feeders. It's the first thing that gets snapped up. I was buying it in pet stores but that was pretty expensive. These worms are large and well dried. Since the worms are dried and light, 11 pounds is a huge bag (size of a 40 lb bag of pet food)and should last me for months.I also put meal worms in my home made suet treats; 1 jar of crunchy peanut butter, 1 lb block of lard, 2 cups coarse corn meal (or more, enough to make it less greasy), 1 cup soaked, drained and chopped raisins and cranberries, 1 cup chopped mixed nuts and 2 cups meal worms. Place first 2 in a large sauce pan, heat on low until melted and add the cornmeal. Add rest of optional ingredients. Smear on a tree trunk, or suet spread feeder. Especially loved by woodpeckers and nuthatches. Keep it in the fridge or freezer- in the winter I just keep it in the shed.

This is a very good price for quality, bulk, dried mealworms. I am happy. My chickens, who gobble the dried worms up, are happy. And countless wild birds who are in the process of raising their protein-hungry youngsters, steal worms from my chickens' feed tray and are happy.

A bang for the buck. Big wholesome worms that look, feel and smell fresh. No problem with debris or beetle infestation like some other reviews mention. Wild birds at the feeders like them same as the more expensive ones bought in pet stores. They are going through a 2-pint jar full of the worms each day. First time buying this, will be back again soon.

Okay, dried mealworms does sound really gross. I live in the Carlisle- Harrisburg section of PA and two years ago we found a birdbath heater would result in, literally, over 10 bluebirds around our birdbath on really, really cold days. Last year, I ordered 5 pounds of dried mealworms and ended up with bluebirds in my back yard on a regular basis. This year I went nuts and ordered this package of mealworms. Eleven pounds does not sound like much until it arrives and it is as big as a 50 pound bag of oil sunflower seeds. I am getting bluebirds, house finches, Carolina whens, and the odd starling every day. I am putting out a measuring cup full of mealworms each day. The birds love it and I calculate I will have dried mealworms until sometime in March. I will never eat dried mealworms but this product consists of complete mealworms and not broken pieces. Our birds love them.

My daughter and I love this huge bag of mealworms. We love feeding the wild birds. Bluebirds and Mockingbirds particularly like mealworms. We also have 5 domestic ducks. They go wild for mealworms. Buying small quantities was becoming cumbersome. I love this huge bag with ziploc seal. I'll be buying again and again. Thanks!

I have lots of birds who love this stuff -- and one @*^&@$%*)+ squirrel!! I have a little 'platform' feeder https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B90RT0O-- and end up 'acting the terrier' by barking and yelling out the window at the &*)%&@ squirrel! (I PUT corn on the ground for them -- stay OFF my feeders!) Titmouse, wrens, warblers, -- the occasional Red Headed Woodpecker (huge on the wee feeder, but he likes it!) and the two pairs of bluebirds that live at my neighbors house.

I heard about these through a friend. Much better deal than the Happy Hen Treats which normally sell for $25 for 30 ounces. Bag is not resealable though as advertised. Update (8-26-18): the bag is now resealable. Perfect.

Nice and clean mealworms. 11 pounds is a BIG bag, I poured mine into a vittles vault container. They were really helpful in getting my chickens to understand when it was time to come in to roost while still very young. Big protein bump to their feed is also helpful when young birds are feathering in, or molting as protein is how they are formed. I recommend this product from this company!

If you have chickens, Worms By The Pound is the least expensive place to purchase meal worms from and they ship super fast!
