After reading some of the other reviews regarding the rattling noises I was skeptical to load up and transport 16ft lumber in my SUV. I'm happy to report that if you properly tie down the cargo and drive slow (paying particular attention to nearby vehicles during turns) this is a great accessory to have in your garage. Driving slow, I did not notice any of the rattling or shaking even while using the included pins. I will say that it did make a lot more noise while there was no load on it..which makes sense since the pieces do not fit together overly snug. Overall, I'm very pleased with the item.

I bought this to haul a kayak in a Ranger. This extender is so awesome. Very sturdy. When I first got it, I stood on the end of it and bounced around, no issues. I'm a large man (the term is cornfed) and it had no qualms about me being rough on it. Makes loading and unloading the kayak super simple. I have a heavy 12 foot and have hauled a 15. No problems with either. Could haul 16ft lumber in it, although I'm not sure how much the truck CG would like it but I'm confident this would take it The paint on the bar is starting to rub off a little bit from taking the kayak in and out. Not that big of a deal to me, normal wear from normal use. Maybe an issue if youre doing salwater fishing, but its nothing some paint couldnt fix. And the little flag they give you is kinda cheap. I mean it works, but hundreds of miles later its showing its age. I would definitely recommend this. Several strangers have asked me about it.

Works great. I'm using it to transport a 10' Jon boat in my truck bed. I added some foam pipe covers to the end with some gorilla tape to not have metal on metal contact. I also added some reflectors over the tape to keep the reflectors from being completely covered. I'll probably add some trailer lights to the end since my state's law says that lights should be present if the load is more than 4 feet past the end of the truck and this is unless you measure from the end of the tailgate. The parts have a bit of play when attached with the quick detach pins but I wasn't expecting it to be super solid. It also sits a bit off to one side but the bit of play in the connections allows it to sit properly when the boat is on it.

The flag is PINK...but I am not going to take away a star for color, I was expecting that reading the reviews. The instructions were lacking, but this is pretty basic folks. I bought this to tow a canoe that is 17.5 feet in lenght. I have a Toyota Tundra with a bed that is 6 feet. I strapped the canoe in using only the eye hooks in the front and back of the bed of the truck...cranked them tight...and the canoe was very secure. I drove 70mph, no issues at all. I back up to a river on a boat ramp, and was easily able to unload and load the canoe by myself. Extremely happy with this product. It sure beats pulling the cnoe around on a trailer.

Works as advertised. Just transported about 600 hundred pounds of rough cut oak 300 miles without a problem. Pieces are loose when assembled, but that did not seem to affect the structural integrity.

I bought this to haul a heavy piece of workout equipment that is 400 pounds and 14 feet long. Hanging out the back of my truck wasn't safe. This hitch was not only very affordable, but it is also solid. Everything fits together quite nicely, and the included pins will never fall off. The product states it can hold up to 750lbs with the proper hitch, and thus far, I totally believe it. I pushed it to around the 400 mark directly, and all seemed well. The flag is a sturdy material that seems like it could easily handle a long interstate drive without issue, and comes with a metal clip at the top, to be securaly attached to whatever is hanging behind the rack. Instead of the flag, I bought magnetic towing lights, that I can both stick and zip-tie to the bottom of the horizontal rack arms for added safety on the road.

I have a short bed 2013 Toyota Tacoma and this fit my 2” truck hitch receiver perfectly! The securing hole is same size as factory hole. The metal is substantial with weight to it, easy assembly. The pictures are of a 10’ kayak and I’m down to 4 bungee cords to secure. I used 2 10” to secure rear and 2 adjustable to secure front. Rock solid. Its very sturdy except for ‘yoke’ part that attaches into extender. Last 2 pictures shows you the corner that I can move back and forth in the female portion. I’m just going to cut some foam to stuff down and I’ll be happy. I didn’t have a truck hitch pin and this assembly didn’t come with one....wish I had seen ‘frequently bought together’ and would have ordered together....had to order seperately. With ‘yoke’ portion extendable I’ll be able to accomadate 2 kayaks on their sides. Pictures show smallest width.

This has worked out great when transporting my 12.5' kayak. Easy to setup and easily stores in the back of my extended cab Silverado with back seat up. You'll want to purchase some LED lights for the vertical part of the hitch if you will be doing late night kayak fishing so drivers can see your hitch extender. These are the LED lights I use on mine. Pack of 2pcs- LED Sports Saftey Flashing Reflective Armband with High Visibility Light up Glow in the Dark Bracelet for Cycling, Jogging, Walking and Running (red)

It works great but the flag didn't last two miles before disappearing somewhere. The rack is awesome though.

It works like advertised! I carried 6 2x6x16 and 6 2x8x12 no problems. Pic says a 1000 words.
