I iron daily and sell linens as my business

I am getting ready to order my 5th one of these irons. I sell linens and I iron EVERY day. I wear irons out. This Sunbeam lasts longer than any other iron I’ve bought. It has a stainless plate that can be cleaned should any unusual fabric ‘melt’ on it. It gets hot enough to do a spectacular finish, it’s heavy and allows you to get stubborn wrinkles out of all cotton without tons of pressure. Of all of the 4 of these I’ve owned, I’ve never had a single problem. At about the 2 year mark of daily use, the heat setting understandably weakens.

Best Iron Ever!!!

Being a professional seamstress, I use an iron daily. This is the best iron I have ever used!! I have had about 10 irons during my years of sewing professional sewing and this one is the best iron I have purchased, hands down!!! The steam is awesome and the temperature is spot on. I love the large water reservoir and the weight of the iron. This iron doesn't leak water, which is a pain when ironing. You will not be disappointed with this iron!!

Great product even for someone who has no idea what they're doing

I'll preface by saying I don't know anything about irons or ironing. but after I couldn't get wrinkles out of a fully 100% cotton button up I knew it was time to get an iron. And let me tell you: This. Thing. Is. Awesome. I was finally forced to learn to use this thing the other day when I wanted to wear that same cotton shirt to the symphony. I spent maybe 10-15 minutes reading 'how-to's' on ironing and I got to business. I was blown away by how easy this is to use. You just fill it up with water and press it down on stuff and it flattens everything. I can tell my technique is not quite efficient yet, as I used to 2 1/2 full refills of water for a shirt, pair of pants, and a tie, but you better believe I looked super fresh walking into that symphony. This iron has amazing features like blowing out a bunch of steam when you push a button. While learning to iron I read that it may be good to dampen clothes with a spray bottle before ironing, which made me think I couldn't iron because I don't have a spray bottle. "Wait, what is this other button..." BOOM. Let me tell you about that other button. That other button sprays water out the front of the iron. Built in spraying machine. Is there anything this iron can't do?

I think over my lifetime I've had all sorts of irons - cheap to expensive; electric to cast-iron; full size to travel. I have to say, this iron is my favorite to date. The bottom is made so smooth that it just glides over my clothing without any issues. No snags, no gunk, nothing! The reservoir is amazingly easy to fill and the temperature gauge is easy to set. It has the ability to steam and to "spritz" your clothing with water if you want a little extra wrinkle removing power. The best feature, however, in my mind is the cord. It rewinds into the iron. I know that is a simple pleasure, but really - one that should be included on all irons. No muss, no fuss, just a button and away it goes. See, that wasn't so hard. Why don't all irons include this feature? I know this iron is touted as being one that doesn't "spit" on your clothes while you're ironing and I can attest, that is true. I know it has a great weight to it and solid construction too. I know that the bottom is so dang smooth that I wonder if it is even doing anything (warning, do not touch to test on this particular point). I also know that Sunbeam makes a great product, but what I didn't know was that I'd actually enjoy ironing my clothes if I had the right tools. Who would have guessed? Overall, this iron does everything it says it will and then some. Well-built and reasonably priced, I am not certain why I'd ever switch from this product. If you're in the market for an iron, give this a shot and you'll be glad you did.

Wonderful iron for quilters!

Prior to this purchase, I had a much more expensive cordless that had begun spitting and leaking all over the item being ironed as well as the ironing board and the floor. It did not do this when I purchased it a little over a year ago, but it wasn't a;ot of fun to use any more. I searched on Amazon and had narrowed my choices to this one and another which was more expensive and much heavier. As I have mostly controlled carpel tunnel, I decided to try this one. I am so glad I did! Ironing piecework is a dream! The seams are immediately pressed flat with very little effort. I placed the cord - which is more than 80 inched long - under the ironing board so that it doesn't get in the way. Having a retractable cord is a plus, but I would recommend it without that convenience

A very good iron

This is my second Sunbeam Steam Master. The old model was dropped so I had no hesitation in purchasing the same brand of model. This new model heats up fast and irons the winkles out of clothes much faster than the previous one. What is great about this iron and the iron before it is that it never self cleans all over your clean clothes leaving stains. It also has a retractable cord. The only negative is that it retracts so forcefully that it will wack your hand if you do not protect it somehow. I use the edge of the ironing board as a shield.

Great choice! It works as it should!

I love the weight of it. I love that it is easier to fill without having water run all over. I love that it is more stable when sat upright. I love that it doesn't switch off as quickly as others and heats up so much faster than my old iron! Would I recommend it? You bet I would! In a heartbeat!

awesome IRON great weight

lots of steam. gets hot fast and it weights a good amount when you add water. Best iron i've had. gets everything i need done. Has a lot of safety features but nothing is better than unplugging it. would by this again and would recommend it.

Great Product!

Great Iron. I iron clothes for 2 for work 5-7 days a week. I have to buy a new iron about once a year - been getting $20-30 irons. Paid a little more, got a MUCH better iron. Seems to go through a lot of water (TAP water, per directions), but that's because it REALLY steam presses. I just keep a couple of water bottles by the ironing board. Heavier, LOTS of steam (we wear almost all cotton), great for smoothing out stiff items that got left in the dryer. Has a slide to close the opening where the water goes in on the front. Had to get used to that - my cheaper irons had the hole in the top and no 'lid.' Instructions do say to empty the water after each use. I don't do that, as I iron pretty much daily, but I think this one will last longer than the cheaper ones. (Assuming no pets run into the ironing board and knock the (cold) iron onto the floor again. VERY HAPPY. Super shiny and I like the bright blue-green color, too.

Convenient retractable cord & nice tip and shape allow for professional looking results

I like everything about this iron. I previously had 2 sunbeams with a retractable cords, both cords of which eventually quit retracting. Most likely I overextended the cord. I've noticed this cord has a red band around the cord to show the user when one needs to stop pulling, so maybe I won't have the problem with it. My irons have been used often in the past and, due to the fact that i'm a klutz, they have been dropped quite frequently. However, I continued to use my old iron, until it finally Humpty Dumptied off my ironing board for the last time. Neither I, my husband, nor all the kings men couldn't put this last one back together again. So I went to Amazon and was happy to find this one, which I actually like even better than the first ones I had. I'll be ordering 2 more-One for my sewing area and one for my daughter.
